Unfortunately, the rules state it only works with monk weapons, close weapons or unarmed strikes. Only polearms that fit that description are the tiger fork and monk's spade.

New Spells (forgot to add new ones before, so adding 4): Expeditious Retreat, Heightened Awareness, Remove Fear, Weapons Against Evil
Feat: Power Attack or Heavy Armor Proficiency
Skills: Intimidate, Knowledge (arcana), Knowledge (history), Knowledge (planes) x2, Knowledge (religion), Linguistics, Perception, Sense Motive, Spellcraft x2
Language: Aklo

DM Question: Are you okay with the Hurtful feat? Some DMs aren't because it's from Monster Codex and the effect is relatively strong. This will probably guide whether Silvio goes for Power Attack or Heavy Armor Proficiency.

This all looks good. Just LMK which feat you decide to take.

It's Power Attack for now, but let me look at the loot list and see if I would be persuaded to change my mind.

I realize Orendel can't flurry with the polearm--just meant he has the ability to flurry with elbows, knees, and feet. If you're holding a reach weapon and the enemy gets under the range of your weapon, it's a useful fallback.

Sorry to hear that Syeira is gone. But glad to have Meghan. Bard is a good caster support character.

Looks like you are all leveled up. Seems right. MIght need to update your sheet and tagline with the save update from level 3, per my count you are at F:+7 and R:+4. Is that right?

Got it. Missed Escape Artist point. You are thumbs up all the way.

Here is the list of loot that you have to pick from before we get started in the game once again. Anything not claimed, we can assume will be sold for 1/2 list price for gear and full price for art items.

To claim, just say you want it. First come, first served unless you decide to work it out among yourselves.

MW Leather

Heavy Steel Shield (1 of 2) - and he's painting a symbol of Abadar on it.
MW Light Crossbow (can I get a few bolts with this?)
Chainmail
Tanglefoot Bag (1 of 3)

Does Orendel want this? Only if he does not would Silvio learn Heavy Armor Proficiency and take it.
Banded Mail +1

Universally useful stuff that others should take:
Cloak of Resistance +1
Amulet of Natural Armor +1

Separate aside: I figured out I shorted myself a language, and learned Skald.

Sorry for the radio silence on my part. This weekend was not very kind to me and I know I need to level up. Feat will likely be selective channel.

Also if that stuff with the Blot had been in the game then there would definitely be way more interest in it. Is there a chance for down time after we finish this part. Those things could happen then or they can have already happened. And us not paying attention to it due to the issues we have been dealing with.

Meghan's character sheet is (mostly) updated. I removed a couple of magic items that DM Default had Kwava give the group to help them battle Saul and his guards.

I will review character updates for Meghan and Dougal later. I will also update the loot list for the sale of the unclaimed gold, so you have a bit of spending cash later on.

For now, I am ready to re-start game-play posts. As the curtain rises again, you have just finished off the dogs and pig that were trapped in the sub-basement while hunting for Saul.

In this version of events, Saul's bodyguard, the animal wrangler Bojask has not been downed yet. We will assume the party is at full hp from potions found in the animal infirmary if nothing else. I am not certain what spell slots remain for you, but you may use the level up ones, if you were out before...same with other daily use items.

I have linked the combat map at the top margin. It should be shared and editable by you. If you can't get to it, please LMK. I approximated your marching order, and you may re-arrange yourselves in those squares (or more to the rear) before things start in earnest.

Hang on! Here we go!

Do you put your old parade armor and shield in the sell pile? Added 10 bolts to your requests. haven't heard from Orendel on the banded mail,so holding you as is for now.

So noted. I added 20 arrows to your list as well as the bow is generally more effective with them...

I added a suit of chainmail to you. You don't have to accept it. Let me know what you do with old armor if you choose to take the chain.

After the claimed items, here is the restated loot list. LMK in the next day or two if there's anything there for you, otherwise I will turn it into cash at half list prices.

The cloak of resistance should go to a healer or fighter. My reasoning is, fighters tend to have crappy Will saves, which means they get mind-controlled or held all the time. Healers tend to have good saves, but if your healer fails a save the rest of your party is at great risk.

I tend to agree though I am prone to waiting until everyone else has claimed things unless there is something I really want. I am all for either the clock of resistance and or the amulet of nat armor going to the tanks or me.

And the leather armor I had before I am happy to sell.

Silvio puts his Parade Armor and Wooden Shield back into the sale pile. Sadly, he is no longer a Gendarme.

He will take the Banded Mail +1 (and take the corresponding feat). As a result, he will not take the Chainmail, so that goes back into the pile.

Silvio also puts back the Mwk Light Crossbow into the pile. I had wanted it for Abadar flavor, but realized that Silvio will never use it.

Silvio takes the following unless someone else wants:
Tanglefoot Bag x2

Let's make the following additional assumptions unless someone says otherwise:
Amulet of Natural Armor +1 - Orendel
Cloak of Resistance +1 - Dougal

Female Human Bard (Street Performer) 3, Cleric (Calistria) 1 | hp 30/30 |AC 18, t 13, ff 15 | Fort +2, Ref +5, Will +4; +1 vs. charm/compulsion, +4 bonus on saving throws vs. bardic performance, sonic, and language-dependent | Init +3 | BP 11/11 | Perc +8 | Bard Spells 1st 4/4 | Channel Pos. Energy 6/6 [-] | Bit of Luck 4/4 | Copycat 4/4

Meghan will snag: mwk longsword, the mwk light crossbow Silvio just added to the loot pile, and 10 bolts.

[Cavalier (Standard Bearer) 1/Brawler (Exemplar) 3, AC 21, T11, FF20 / HP 40/40, F+6 R+3 W+1 / CMB +6, CMD 17 / Init +3, Perc. +12 / Tactician 1/day, Martial Flexibility 4/day, Inspiring Prowess 5 rounds/day]

I'll take the chainmail, I've been needing more solid armor for a while, and Orendel really needs to get rid of his old uniform too.

Dougal also looks perfectly legal. Good!

Looks like your wrote down chain shirt, but what you took was actually chainmail. Better AC but slows and gives more AC penalty.

Also you're the proud owner of a cloak of resistance +1

Orendel Kellon wrote:

Got it. You are granted the amulet of natural armor +1 as well, so your AC gets a nice boost. I am adding your old parade armor to the sell pile.

So once again, here is the updated, but shortened, list for Round 3 of our Fantasy draft. Once people stop picking items, I will liquidate:

MW Leather
Rapier
Light Crossbow
10 bolts
Wand of Shocking Grasp (9 charges)

RE: Shield Brace Feat

Orendel - you have this feat whose description is here. Basically, the feat lets you operate with a two-handed weapon (in this case halberd) and a shield at the same time. BUT, there is a negative modifier on the attack roll equal to the shield's AC penalty (in this case -2). So, if you're going to equip your shield and use the halberd, your attacks must be at +3 rather than the usual +5. You can choose not use the shield when fighting with the two-handed halberd, but that would reduce your AC to 18 vs 21 typically. Just need to know which it is...

Good news is, if you are using the halberd 2-handed, you get to add 1.5 your STR mod to the damage, so it should be +3, not merely the +2.

Thoughts?

Yikes, I forgot about that, thank you for reminding me! I'm using Shield Brace to use shield and polearm at the same time. I plan on getting a tiger fork at the earliest convenience. I'll remember that for the rest of the fight.

Fair enough.

I have never seen a PC wield a tiger fork so that should be a first.

It's a spear and a monk weapon, so it works with Shield Brace AND Brawler's Flurry!

Darkwood is way cheaper but mithral won't catch on fire. Plus if you go mithral it is easier to match since wooden armor is not amazing.

And I have fixed my sheet back to my old armor, since I cannot read this week, and added the cloak.

Hm . . . well, Cherry could just delay until after Meghan. Basically the same thing since there's no intervening enemy action.

Sorry to make this so complicated!

I just posted a game update before I read this last post. I will re-edit to allow the sneak on Bojask after Cherry delays while Meghan gets in position. Trying to work to your best advantage.
