A thug slashes at Valeros with his cutlass, but Valeros hops back out of the way.

"Hey!" Valeros yells, drawing his dagger to defend himself.

Merisiel jumps back as another thug steps up and slashes at her with his cutlass, missing, while a second thug runs around the mast and slashes at Kyra.

Another thug descends the stairs from the aft deck, and swings his cutlass at Valeros, who catches the hilt mid-swing, attempting unsuccessfully to wrench it out of the thug's hand.
