I've had a couple of big days at work, and another tomorrow. Will try to update tomorrow night for you, but too shattered right now.

Tania, you heard a fairly large barking noise at the door when you listened at it. It must have been quite loud, because the doors in here are fairly solid.

Tania tested the door and found it to be unlocked. With her sword in hand, the young bard pushed it open, revealing a large circular shaped room beyond.

Strange red stone formed a large bench that lined the curved walls of the room. A bizarre collection of bric a brac, odd carvings and jars of twisted animal specimens were lined on the shelf.

The far end of the room contained a pool of water that bubbled and gurgled as it welled up from somewhere below and drained away through cleverly inlaid set of channels.

Standing before this font, her white gold hair gleaming in the strange light this place provided, was Nualia. Tania recognised her almost immediately, though she was somewhat older than the girl had seen her last time. Her features were as breathtakingly beautiful as they had always been, but the woman was now dressed in a burnished set of steel armour. he armour itself was cut in such a way as to reveal Nualias stomach area. It was heavily muscled, but criss crossed with ragged scars as if something had torn itsway out of her stomach at some stage.

Her right hand rested easily on the hilt of a longsward, but it was her left hand that caught Tania the most off guard. It was elongated and twisted somehow. The flesh had become a glistening reddish colour, glinting with a hint of scaling and emitting a slight yellowish vapour as if steaming with heat.

Nualia's eyes opened in surprised recognition when she saw the girl in front of her. "Tania?" she asked hesitantly "Whay did they send you?", the last had a hint of sadness to it.

Over to you guys. Note the map shows your location. Only Tania has seen the girl, But feldspar certainly heard the conversation.

Map link

Tania tries to stay relax as her eyes catch the scale of the girl's body. "Nualia, I'm so glad we've found you! Jo'no's here, with other friends... How have you been? It's been so long since we've seen each other!" Her smile falters for a brief moment as a memory of the bloody shore flashes in front of her. She steps forward, allowing others to move in, unknowingly bringing her second hand near her sword's handle.

5-foot step forward.
Ready an attack if I'm attacked: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16; 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Male Dwarf Paladin / 4

Feldspar, hearing the voice within and surprised at the recognition in the woman's voice, immediately calls upon Torag to grant him sight into souls as he steps into the space Tania has vacated.
Five-foot step, Detect Evil, focused on Nualia.

Feldspar

Spoiler:
the girl that Feldspar sees is stunningly beautiful, right up until he sees her aura. A great roiling mass of anger and hatred weighed around her, held tight for the moment but clearly ready to burst out and be unleashed upon those wha have entered here. She was evil to the core.

Everyone still with us? Been very quiet of late.

Male Dwarf Paladin / 4

Sickened by what he sees and feels radiating from the woman, Feldspar recoils a moment, arms raised instinctively. "There is nothing but evil within her," he says almost surprised at how steady his voice sounds to his ears. "Evil, hatred and rage!"

Not sure if Feldspar can actually act at the moment, since he just took a five foot step and a move action to Detect Evil. But at his first opportunity, he's going to charge her and smite.

Round 1: AC = 19 (20 against Nualia) HP = 36

His voice ringing with certainty, Feldspar cries, "This woman is at the heart of the evil that has come to Sandpoint! She must be destroyed!"

Charging Power Attack, with Smite Evil: 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 9 + 2 - 2 + 1 = 30
Smiting Damage: 1d8 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18 +4 more points if she's an evil outsider or undead.

Holy cow, confirm for critical! 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 9 + 2 - 2 + 1 = 25
If confirmed, critical damage: 2d8 + 24 ⇒ (1, 6) + 24 = 31 +8 if she's an evil outsider or undead.

Nukular Paladin!

Male Human (Varisian) Inquisitor/4

"What's going on up there...Feldspar?"

No room, I'll have to wait until it clears up. I need to ask Desna for more spells that benefit a group.

Is there enough room for Idrian to get up there and draw a bead on her?
"Come along quietly and you'll get a fair trial and hanging."

Male Dwarf Paladin / 4

So far Tania's at G14 and Feldspar is at E14. There should be some room to maneuver in there, though it might take a double-move to get in melee threat range.

I'm getting ready for work right now. Will do an initiative up tonight and e can resolve it from there.

If there is room for Jo'no to advance up and see what is going on, he will. If he sees its Nuala he will first attempt to Daze her.

Inititiative order is Group 1 = Jo'No, Mikka, Feldspar, Idrian. Group 2 = Nualia, Group 3= Durik and Tania

You can move through freely past your friends, as long as the square directly in front of the Trap remains clear.

Feldspar, that is a confirmed crit, despite teh fact you can't charge so you need to drop 2 off the attacks. It sill hits.

Will give folks a chance to post for group 1. Mikka and Jo'no will only get to see her if they move into the room.

Will update when I have everyones actions for group 1. Will also do updated map tomorrow if people are not sure where everyone is.

Female Human Mooncaller Druid 4

Mikka moves into the room, stepping aside to clear a path for the others as she took in the horrifying sight of the woman. In her revulsion, she barely even registered Feldspar striding forward until the roar of divine judgement that accompanied his attack.

Everything happened fast. Jo'No moved up, filling the space where Feldspar had been but moments before and quikly tried to daze the woman he had once known. The spell seemed to be shrigged off with ease by Nualia though, and she shot a look of deep sadness at the Shoanti before her visage hardened again.

Idrian stepped into the room, trying to bring a sense of calm to what was about to become a very violent encounter. His offer of surrender was completely destroyed as Feldspar stepped in and drove his hammer into the womans side with a sickening crunch. Her armour dented there, and ribs cracked under the imact, eliciting a scream of hatred and pain from the beautiful face. Her eyes seemed to blaze with an inner fire, and everyone was amazed she was still standing after such a powerful attack.

She grasped something at her neck then, a symbol of Lamashtu as Feldspar could clearly see. Speaking one word, all of those in the room could feel the pulse of evil energy as it washed across them. It felt like the claws of some ungodly beast were trying to tear its way from their intestines and break free into the world around them

Will save DC 16 or take 12 damage. Save means half damage

This also seemed to be a signal of some sort, and from the height above teh door threshold dropped a huge Yeth hound. It had been able to remain unseen flying above the doorway while everyones attention was on Nualia, and now it attacked in force. It opened by howling,a sound far more terrifying than the calls of those dogs they had faced in the chappel earlier. This hound seemed to be fully gifted with the blessings of Lamashtu for it was a terrifying creature indeed. DC 12 will save or be panicked for 6 rounds. Don't forget the +2 if within ten feet of Feldspar

The creatures jaws snapped at Idrian, the opponent closest to it when it moved, closing over the ranger's head and grinding into the skull beneath the leather cap he wore. Hits AC 22, 13 damage

Note - Durik doesn't need to make any of these saves as he is out of range and spell effect.

Group 3 is up, things just got more tight. Please note, this is a full Yeth hound from Pathfinder. Not the ones I watered down because of my earlier error.

Map coming soon

Map update

Note the yeth hound is actually above Idrian, but that doesn't show up too easily on maptools. Tania can't target it too effectively, it has superior cover to her from that vantage, same as for Jo'no

Hideous Laughter - Will Save DC 16

Round 1 cont..

Tania feels the overwhelming fear grip her once more. These creatures obviously tapped into a primal fear buried deep within Tania's psyche. She screamed and pushed past her friends, dashing wildly down the corridoor in uncrontrolled fear. Her terror increased as she heard an ominous click when she ran thoughtlessly over the trapped plate. (DC15 reflex save will push you past the trapped section before horrbie things begin happening to you. I'll give you a +2 given that you're running and your speed alone may carry you past. You have no real control over where you run when panicked sorry Tania)

Durik had only just cleared the trapped section himself when Tania dashed past. He heard the click and a strange grinding noise but paid no real heed as he moved forwards to aid Idrian in his defense against the evil creatures within.

Round 2

Idrian, made overly bold by his companion providing magical aid, took aim and fired at the woman in front of him. His arrow struck true, piercing her through the gap where her rent stomach appeared. The arrow sank through flesh and viscera, almost doubling her over in pain, yet still she remained standing.

For all his success though, he had taken his mind off defending against the hound, and it again bit him heavily. (Hits AC 23, 12 damge. I'm thinking its a good thing Durik healed you)

Jo'no, possibly still hoping to capture Nualia, unleasehed another mind affecting spell. Again the spell failed to take hold completely. He could sense his power slipping over her but then being pushed back by some sort of protective barrier. Realising he needed to give his friends more room, he went to retreat down the corridor after Tania, but found his passage blocked by a heavy iron portcullis that had dropped. The two statues bounded by the portculis' had animated magically, and were now scything their weapons back and forwards between the metal grills. Anyone trapped in that space would be minced.

Feldspar and Mikka to act for Group 1 this round. Will update map when I know if Tania saved or not. Feldspar, she is an evil outsider btw, in terms of your smite ability.[ooc]

[ooc]Nualia is very close to dead. The hound not so much

Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Oh dear...

Tania dashes with fear on her heel. As she hears the clicking sound, her shoulder snap into the wall and she looses some momentum. A grid falling heavily stops her in her tracks. She collapses to the floor, crying and yelling as she watches the statues start to move...

Tania,

Spoiler:
there's a chance you may die here. I'm going to use the sites dice roller to be open about it all. Since I plan on running this campaign into the second book at least, if Tania were to perish here, are you willing to create a new character and go on with it? I don't want to lose a good player, but I also don't want people to think I'm going to keep them alive no matter what. Let me know

Trap round 1 - Statue 1 attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26, damage 1d10 ⇒ 3

Statue 2 attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9, Damage 1d10 ⇒ 8

The steel bars effectively prevent Tania from leaving teh area and she railed agains the metal. The two statues either side of her seem to animate, looking at the woman in the trap with disdain and swinging their glaives in great arcs. The young bard was struck lightly by the first Glaive, but the force of its attack spun her out of the road of the second one. Unfortunately, the grill did not raise, and the animated statues readied themselves a second time.

At work right now getting some stuff prepped, will do map at home in a few hours.

DM Wrath:
One of the things that make the game so enjoyable is the risk. To quote the Virgin Prunes: If I die, I die. I would like to stay in the AP though, with a new character that can join the group easily.

Female Human Mooncaller Druid 4

Mikka felt the clawing at her belly, the release of vile energy from the woman that championed Lamastu. The vile demon goddess, mother of monsters, the very embodyment of the corruption of everthing that Gozreh represented.

She felt the dark energy, heard the hound howl, but there was no fear, only anger. Before her stood a woman who had embraced everything unnatural and horrioble that dared to walk the land corrupting everything she touched, and Mikka would see her die here and now.

Raising her hand she guestured with a shout, calling forward the very power of maternity, a pulse of energy streaking from her hand to slam into Nualia bringing with it a wave of nausea, the embodiment of the sickness many mothers felt early in pregnancy, intensified a hundred times over.

Ray of Sickness ranged touch1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 DC 19 fort save or Sickened

Male Dwarf Paladin / 4

Round 2: AC = 21 (22 against Nualia) HP = 28/36

Feldspar pays no mind to anything else going on around him, focusing purely on the evil woman before him.

Will Save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

The negative energy tearing through Feldspar makes him grit his teeth with pain, however, even as he brings his hammer around again. "Your dark God will not save you now, tainted one!"

Power Attack, with Smite Evil: 1d20 + 9 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 9 - 2 + 1 = 22
Smiting Damage: 1d8 + 12 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 4 = 22

Round 2 cont...

Mikka chanted, casting her spell even as the woman she target sliced at her with her sword. Luckily for the druid her aim was poor, pulling short due to the arrow in her side. The spell washed over teh woman, sickeneing her and forcing her to wretch horribly. Feldspar took advantage, bringing the glowing hammer of his god up and onto the womans head. A huge crack rolled through the room, and Nualia fell lifeless to the ground, the back of her head caved in and lolling at a wierd angle where the neck had also been shattered.

Feldspars visage was twisted in righteous rage, and he yelled in victory and praise to Torag, but the noise was drowned out by the terrifying bay of the Yeth hound angain trying to tear into Idrian. This time the dog failed to land a blow, twisting in almost pain as its mistress was felled (only rolled a 12 to hit this time.)

Jo'no was terrified to watch as the Glaives again swept through the space in which Tania yelled and screamed.

(Attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14, damage 1d10 ⇒ 5, Attack 2 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21, damage 1d10 ⇒ 10

The first statue missed the girl, but the second Glaive connected solidly, slashing her back and spraying blood across the wall behind her. As the attacks finished, the statues returned to inanimate objects, but the trap had one last nasty surprise for the bard. The floor beneath her feet dropped open, revealing a yawning pit. (Dc 15 reflex save to prevent the fall or take 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11 damage)

Tania and Durik to go, (assuming Tania is still alive.)

Reflex: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 - 2 = 16

Tania claws at the wall, yelling and crying as her back is shred by the statue, but when the trap opens, she has desperately throws a hand out that latches luckily to the statue's foot. She stands there, looking into the pit, her crying turning into a desperate sobbing.

Tania desperately lunged and managed to pull herself up by the nearest statue. Her sobs of desperate terror continue to tear at Jo'no as he watched helplessly from the other side of the bars.

Durik reached out and layed his hands upon Idrian again, channeling Desna's blessings and healing will into his companion while he faught the beast above him.

Round 3

Idrian dropped his bow, drawing the great sword strapped to his back and attacking the Yeth hound that had savaged him so far. The blow was amazingly accurate, though it lacked the strength of some of the hits he'd done in the past. The hunter was a little stunned when the weapon did even less damage than he'd hoped, the wound barely showing on the animals hide. It seemed this beast was protected in some way from his blows, unlike the lesser hounds they had faced earlier.

Feldspar, Jo'no and Mikka to act this turn. Having trouble with my mapping software sorry, haven't been able to update but will try to sort that this coming weekend.

Feldspar and Mikka are easily within reach of attacking this hound. Worth remembering if casting. Mikka, there is space for you to 5ft step now. Cheers

Tania yells again, eyes red from tears and terror, desperately holding on to the statue. She kicks a foot up, trying to at least secure her position.

Idrian

Spoiler:
The bestiary has the Yeth hound with DR/silver. You need a +3 weapon to overcome it sorry to say. I had to go through and check it all after you told me that. Been damn busy with work load and thought I'd misread something hehe. I spoilered this so it doesn't give too much away to the others.

The DR value is only minimal, you just rolled particularly low for your weapon this time. On average you're going to be doing serious harm to it with that big sword of yours.

Round 3 cont..
Feldspar spun on his heel and delivered a blow to the hound. It struck the beast, but he too felt his weapon's damage reduced by some form of protective layer to its hide.

Mikka launched a small cloud of thunder and lightning at the beast, but drifted casually aside from the attack as it came rolling in.

Jo'no stood helplessly back where he was, trapped in the corridor by the bars and the combat.

The hound's eyes took in the opponents near it, but continued to focus on the man it started attacking first. With every sob and scream that drifted into the room from Tania's panick, the creature seemed to bark and yelp in excitement. It was savouring the fear.

Such was its level of excitment that its bite missed the hunter completely and left the beast exposed to whatever counters this formidable group could now muster.

Tanias scrabbling hold kept her from the pit long enough for the bars to draw back into the roof, forming a seemless bond with the ceiling. The floor also swung back into place, leaving the corridor looking perfect again. Except for the spray of blood across the wall.

With her terror still gripping her, the young bard leapt from the statue and sped down the corridor back into to the complex beyond. Luckily she hadn't set the trap off again in her terror induced haste.

Durik to post for this round.

Might as well get group 1 to post as well for round 4. I'll update that all at once

Round 3 completed

Durik turned and ran back to where he had heard Tania screaming in terror. Dashing past Jo'no, he leapt over the trapped square and charged after the fleeing woman. He would catch her easily enough, but she had a bit of a lead on him at the moment. I ran with your intent to aid Tania here Durik. You'll catch her on her 5th round of fleeing (which she's already posted) and can hold her down till she calms. You guys will basically be at the entrance to level 3

Round 4

Idrian struck out at the hound again, but the close proximity of the beast and his companions had him pulling the weapons wide arcing swings a little. As a consequence, he missed the beast Since i can't update map at moment, I'm playing things a little loose. I'm allowing the flank, but even that wasn't enough to allow a hit.

Feldspar, Mikka and Jo'no to post this round before yeth hound goes. Jo'no, there's room for you to get a bead on the hound now too. It has some energy resistance but not SR, you recall from knowledge of these types of creatures.

Mikka stepped back a little further from the hound, giving herself room to complete her summoning without being attacked. Her hands moved in divine gestures and her voice chanted in the language of the druids while her magic worked to swirl a thick mist infront of her.

The room was lit briefly by the flare of two arcane bolts sizzling past Idrian and striking the evil dog. Feldspar caught sight of Jo'no lowering the wand he had used in order to check how badly the Yeth hound had been damaged. It was starting to show signs of the combat, but still looked deadly flying just above the heads of its opponents.

Feldpar added to its injuries by slamming his hammer into its side. The weapon did significant wounds to the dog this time, but still he could tell its hide resisted the weapons full effect.

Howling in doth fury and pain, the hound snapped at Idrian again, looking to fell its original foe and perhaps thin the numbers of sentient creatures attacking it. The jaws snapped shut over the hunters forearm as he brought his greatsword around for another swing. The sound fo rending meat and cracking bone followed the snap, and Idrian found agonizing pain shooting up the arm as the dog tore into the flesh there. (Hits AC 26, 15 damage)

Durik sped onwards, diving in and tackling Tania to teh ground even as she kicked in screamed in pure fear driven panick. He held her there, stopping her from hurting herself further in her mindless running.

Ok, everyone can post for Round 5 please. Idrian, I have no idea what condition that attack leaves you in, but it was pretty damn viscious so I suspect your hurting a bit.
