Runelords

Game Master Wrath

Running the Rise of the Runelords AP. 6 players. Nearly at the end of the first book.

The town of Sandpoint came under attack by goblin tribes right at the height of the celebrations for Desna.

The adventurers fought off the goblin attack, saving many townsfolk, including some notables. They earned the title "Heroes of Sandpoint" for their actions.

Investigating these events, they discovered that a group of local criminals had been duped into helping the attack by the lord Lonjiku Kaijitsu and his newly returned son. They raided the Lonjiku glassworks only to find it infested by goblins who had killed the Head of the family under the son's instructions. He had also captured his sister, Ameiko, and was planning on taking her to his mistress somewhere in the Goblin fortress of Thistletop. The Heroes destroyed the man and freed Ameiko, also discovering a mysterious set of ruins below the town. Here they confronted the long trapped imp Familiar of an ancient wizard, using the power of a well of pure evil and anger. They destroyed the beast and capped the well to prevents its taint on the town above.

Following up later, they headed into the Goblin infested wilds to confront the mysterious Nualai and her followers, who had united the goblins in a fight against Sandpoint. The raid on this well established and heavily populated fortress was harrowing, and a number of times members of the group were nearly brought low. At the end though, it came down to a confrontation between the Heroes and Nualia. She turned out to be the spurned and now evil girl that Jo'no and Tania had once known from their youth. Upon her destruction, they discovered a diary which indicated her corruption and fall from grace had occurred in the Magnimar city. The two youths vowed to avenge their friend, but first there was business to be completed in town.
