Obidiah Gerheart |
"I'm sure those answers will make sense at some point ... probably after it's too late for them to help us."
Januarius ibn Fahlad |
Jan will hold up the book in his hands.
Hey now! I've read of things like this. One of the factory owners back home produced one about influencing friends and win people or some such.
Obidiah Gerheart |
"So the wizards here have been here a long time, copying themseleves as clones when they get old or crazy."
"But they don't like each other much and they obviously have factions."
"At least one of them," gestures at dead wizard "thought this Karzoog fellow was going to be a problem if he woke up and got loose, and our peacock feather seems to think that he has."
"If he is the source of the problems, now we just have to figure out if this runeforge the wizard mentioned really is a way to make weapons powerful enough to stop him."
Januarius ibn Fahlad |
Well, like my father always said there's no problem so great it can't be solved with the suitable application of high explosives.
Jan, not sensing any great interest in the book will stuff it in his pack in case someone *Cough* the paladin *cough* wants it later.
"Bandersnatch" McTwilliger |
Well I guess we have to go after Karzoug huh. What could possibly go wrong. But first shall we move on?
Januarius ibn Fahlad |
I like that our bad guy has a name and all, by why do all the bad guys have names that sound menacing?
Jan starts moving.
I mean, if I wanted to take over the world I wouldn't call myself Karzoug the Runelord; I'd call myself something nice like Cuddles the Beneficent. Can you imagine trying to drum up support to stop Cuddles the Beneficent? "Now is the time for all men of character to stand up and fight! Cuddles the Beneficent cannot be allowed to gain power in Varisia lest he cuddle the whole of Golarion!"
You'd get thrown into an asylum.
"Bandersnatch" McTwilliger |
Maybe his sidekick could be Harold the serial hugger
Obidiah Gerheart |
"Somebody definitely is going to end up in an asylum...."
"Bander, why don't you check those doors and see if they're gonna explode in our face."
"Bandersnatch" McTwilliger |
Bander wanders over and spider senses them
Obidiah Gerheart |
Obi walks up to the doors and check to see if they're locked.
If not, I'll open them a little bit and peek through.
Robert "Bo" Hardin |
Bo follows the group, bringing up the rear guard..
Obidiah Gerheart |
If it looks clear, then Obi will raise up his rifle and use his magical scope to look for anything invisible.
drbuzzard |
Owing to the screwed up directions on the map, I will take it you mean towards the bottom (which isn't actually south).
This long room contains only three plain items of furniture—a large bed strewn with silk ropes, a writing desk, and a freestanding armoire.
Inside the room are six scantily clad females who howl in outrage when you open the door.
init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Obidiah Gerheart |
"Trouble..." Obi says over his shoulder to the others.
initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
"Bandersnatch" McTwilliger |
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Obidiah Gerheart |
"Ladies .... did someone here call for a repairman?" Obi asks innocently.
Robert "Bo" Hardin |
Init: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
"I don't think they did Obi.."
Knowledge Check?
Init Yap: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Robert "Bo" Hardin |
Pretty sure their going first.. Well unless Jan rolls an 18 or better on init..
Obidiah Gerheart |
"Hey, they've apparently been down here a long time, they might need some company....." Obi says back to Bo.
Robert "Bo" Hardin |
Bo Will: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (12) + 21 = 33 Everyone gets an additional +4 to fear effects as well being 10' from Bo.. If it is one that is..
Yap casts Blessing of Fervor.. Lasts 11 rounds.
Bo activates Judgement of Justice as a swift and fires his pistol at #5.. Grit as a free.. Taking the +2 bonus from Bof till he gets a reading on toughness of these girls..
Attack 1: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (16) + 19 = 35 Steel
Attack 2: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (18) + 19 = 37
Attack 3: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
Attack 4: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Confirm 4: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Dam 1: 1d8 + 19 ⇒ (8) + 19 = 27
Dam 2: 1d8 + 19 ⇒ (7) + 19 = 26
Dam 3: 1d8 + 19 ⇒ (7) + 19 = 26
Dam 4: 1d8 + 19 ⇒ (5) + 19 = 24
Dam Crit: 3d8 + 57 ⇒ (7, 4, 2) + 57 = 70
If it dies before the crit move that shot to #4..
Robert "Bo" Hardin |
No Wayfinder/Clear Spindle Ioun stone combo Jan? NOOOO!!!
Januarius ibn Fahlad |
What I need is about 100 scrolls of protection from evil. that someone can cast on me as we enter rooms. Because for a normal fighter DC 27 Will Saves suuuuuuck.
Will Save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
Oh yeah, this is going great.
Jan turns to Bo and raises his shield.
Die...uh...paladin! I'm sorry, I don't have an epithet ready for you!
Attack (Heavy Shield, Power Attack): 1d20 + 27 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 27 - 4 = 29
Attack (Kukri, Power Attack): 1d20 + 19 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 19 - 4 = 16
Attack (Heavy Shield, Power Attack): 1d20 + 22 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 22 - 4 = 37
Attack (Kukri, Power Attack): 1d20 + 14 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 14 - 4 = 22
Attack (Heavy Shield, Power Attack): 1d20 + 17 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 17 - 4 = 31
Well at least the suck continues.
Damage (Heavy Shield, Power Attack): 2d6 + 23 ⇒ (4, 4) + 23 = 31
Shield Snag: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (5) + 22 = 27
Fails to disarm.
drbuzzard |
Considering I gave fighters a strong will (or reflex if you are foolish) save, I don't really know what to say. These things just have mean DCs. I'd look at Weapon Master's Handbook stuff, as there is Armed Bravery from Advanced Weapon Training. . Iron Will is probably worthy of consideration as well since you are going against runelords, and that means lots of spells.
"Bandersnatch" McTwilliger |
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (13) + 18 = 31 UMD
Bander pulls a scroll, and reads it then touches his dominated friend
feel like we know enough about magic to know this is a good move...if you think that is too metagame-like then I will activate invisible blade and move into the room instead
"Bandersnatch" McTwilliger |
yeah, I know, but better than him pounding the crap out of us.
hey jan try not to blow this one
Robert "Bo" Hardin |
Bo takes the one lick from Jan with stride.. He does wince a bit at the heavy blow though..
Bo's attacks have any effect?
Obidiah Gerheart |
Obi shakes off the insidious magic from the naughty seductress.
"Charm this ya' flighty doxy!" he calls out by way of challenge at #3.
He clicks his heels together to activate his boots of speed (free action)
He slips a Tracer Bullet into the breech of his rifle. (should mark her with faerie fire if it hits).
Then he steps 5' into the room, firing a continuous stream of steel rounds into #3.
(deadly aim, challenge)
shot #1: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (1) + 19 = 20
shot #2: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (12) + 19 = 31 (+2 faerie fire?)
shot #3: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25 (+2 faerie fire?)
shot #4: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20 (+2 faerie fire?)
damage #1: 1d10 + 31 ⇒ (5) + 31 = 36
damage #2: 1d10 + 31 ⇒ (10) + 31 = 41
damage #3: 1d10 + 31 ⇒ (8) + 31 = 39
damage #4: 1d10 + 31 ⇒ (2) + 31 = 33
drbuzzard |
The other enemies were holding their actions to see if the spells took hold, so those go off simultaneously.
#3SR: 1d20 ⇒ 3 fizzle
#4SR: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Need another will save from Obi as his shots go into #3 (who is now pushing up daisies and has reverted to a demonic female in appearance with wings and short horns, she is still, other than being dead, still a hottie).
Obidiah Gerheart |
Knowledge(Planes): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
(Is that enough to know that I should switch to Outsider Bane cartridges?)
Will Save: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33
Obidiah Gerheart |
"If it bleeds .... we can kill it." Obi drawls.
(What else would I need to know)
