So as another game I am playing on here reaches its own five year+ milestones I am forced to review where we are and what I can give and I have to say I think I need to stop running. I had a certain quality I wanted to bring, to a game where there was a solid investment and you folks have stayed committed but as I look forward into the future I see more complications with my son (while hale and healthy he has some emotional learning delays that really complicate his day to day) and my work and I just don't see myself staying on top of things the way I want to.
So. That said, I wonder what folks want to do. I can help in the search for a new GM, I can shutter the thread or...well it seems like those are the options?
I really want to thank everyone for sticking it through this long, we lost a fair number of folks and some of you have really stuck it through a long time so I am grateful. I imagined for long time I would see it through to the end but we have a long way to go and me only posting a handful of times every few weeks makes that an even longer road.
Let me know what you would like to do.
I am fine with either option, but I'm a late comer, so I feel that the others should be the ones with the most say.
I have enjoyed playing, but with Devon stepping back, I think that I will also step down. I have much less time that I used to, and should probably not sign on if the pace is going to pick back up.
Life happens and you have to prioritize. That's why I never got concerned when there was a lag. I appreciate your honesty and especially your efforts to keep this oft-orphaned thread alive.
I am fine with either option. I once offered to step up in a situation like this and run a game that was losing a GM (might have been this one, but I don't think so), but I'm sure that I can't do it justice for the foreseeable future, so I won't extend that offer.
Whatever we end up doing, thank you for playing and allowing us to play for all this time. Has it really been six years since you took the helm? Wow.
Hmmm, I'm enjoying Vidar a little too much to give up just yet.

Well with three of you being interested in continuing that seems to be enough for a game even if Kithian chooses to step back so it seems like its worth seeing if the community will respond. I will post a recruitment and link it back to here so folks can participate in the thread and what not. I'll update with a link.

Yeah I mostly thought it made sense to do that after you secure a DM, that way if they have anything specific they hope to accomplish we can articulate that or they can post the recruit. I would hate to recruit folks and then not have a DM come through or some such thing.

Wow, I thought I had only been playing for a year or so, it is actually almost 4 years of listening to a drunken bird trying to hold a conversation with two Ulfens. I suppose I should stick with this if we can find a replacement GM.
Did folks see Hunger's post in the recruit thread? Folks should chat with him DM or on the post to make sure it sounds like a good fit.

Hunger just picked up another orphaned game ( the one he wants to get set with before he starts anything with us) and I am following that thread and the discussion thread for that game just to see how he runs it. The sample is certainly small, being only a day or two, but I haven't seen any red flags.
So I'm still likely to be the most vicious person involved with this game?

You and Kithian are pretty mellow. I GMed for a pair of Ulfens at a Con about a month ago who had Craft(orphan) as their day job.
That's not vicious, that's just crude.

Hi all. I'm the one who volunteered to continue this game from DM Devon and I wanted to come over and say hello.
With GenCon out of the way, I'm going to send in the email to get the game transferred over, and that usually takes about a week. With everything else going on, I'm aiming to get things going again in about 10 days (first weekend of Sept).
In the meantime, if there is a story aspect of the game that means a lot to you as the player, or to your character, please let me know. It's inevitable that some of the "story" elements are going to fall through the cracks, but I'd like to mitigate that as much as possible.

Hello! The one that comes immediately to mind, though it has little to do our current position in the plotline, is that Camillo has a *ahem* close relationship with a certain Sandpoint innkeeper. No details necessary or requested, they just look forward to seeing each other and tend to disappear together when he is in town, that sort of thing.
Which is mostly an open invitation to you to use her to introduce plotlines of your own when we get back to town.

As for the game plots. Kithian was banished from his tribe by its shaman that saw him as a rival due to his dream walk where he was blessed by Gorum. The bastage already sent a band of assassins after him...but hey, I got my new helm out of it...

I'm Pinocchio! Really, like the Disney character. I say "like" and not "is" on purpose. This wooden puppet boy enjoys mind tricks and using his ability to stare unendingly at someone without so much as blinking or breathing to render even the most hardened bad men into shivering basket cases.
He is also learning what a "bad man" is and will sometimes stare at party members for entirely too long.
He is also not prone to breaking out into musical interludes.
Well, Vidar recently entered a relationship with Shalelu, obviously since she is with us I'd like to keep working on that a bit.
Then there is Vidar's ongoing quest for lore, especially Thassalonian.
Furthermore the group have some plans on turning...Thistlethorp into a small fortress.
And perhaps finding that damned Necromancer and force-feed him his own ribcage...
Sayniek is the one who attempts to keep the rest of the miscreants in this group from getting into too much trouble.
I have no idea what she's talking about. But I'm sure I'll find out soon enough. :)

Fortunately, carrying the morals of most in this party do not add much to Sayniek's burden.

I don't have control yet, which may not be a surprise due to GenCon and Labor Day (holiday this weekend for any non-US people in here).
As soon as the transition happens, I'll be making a Game post and making a few admin changes.
