Male Human Ranger 1

Guys, our game 'Mendevan Crusades' just lost a player.

This is a 1 or 2 post a day game similar to Kingmaker, set in the world wound. We are exploring hexes and siezing ground. Obviously DEMONS feature Heavily

Start at level 6.
Scores are rolled.

We have
Me: Blade bound Hexcrafter Elf
Sirhan: Assimar Oracle of Metal
Crissor: Gnoll Divine Hunter Paladin
Peitry: Human Admixture Evoker/Cypher Image
Keenan: Human Cavalier5/monk

Apply with what you like but the group requires you be able to kick Major A$$. DEMON A$$.

So far we think a BATTLE CLERIC would be good.
Crissor is not shy about channeling but Healing is not a pally's thing and our oracle lacks prepared casting.

I suggested a Greatsword Evangelist Cleric of Gorum with Rage/Blood Subdomains.
He would kick major A$$ and give the Party inspire courage!
Or
A Cleric of Imodae5/Holy Vindicator1 with the Heroism and Archon Subdomains.
Variant Channel (Bravery/Valour: Heal for 1/2 but buff group AC and Charges).
Alignment Channel to Harm Evil outsiders.

Human alt favored bonus to beat SR vs Outsiders.

These are just ideas.
The point is this is a high powered, Demon Heavy Campaign so you need to kick A$$.

Anyone Interested?

Oh, Kithian would taken the found horse to the stables and paid for it's grooming and care. He would have made sure to spend time each day with the animal using his handel animal skill and getting it used to him.

Male Half-Elf Paladin 3

So, my home group was playing Skull and Shackles last night when a TPK occurred. We were 2nd level and I thought I would have a lot longer time playing instead of DM'ing (like at least a year). Unfortunately due to the early end of the campaign it was now my turn up to run a game and they want to play Tne Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition (I had promised to run it for them at some point because I was already playing in it).

This of course leaves me in a bind for this campaign. I'd love to keep playing but in a few months I'm going to catch up to this game in terms of where the campaigns are at. If Devon doesn't feel comfortable with me playing because of the knowledge I am going to have I totally understand. I just wanted to fully disclose what was happening with my home group.

Thanks.

I messaged Kerrec about this but I will mention to the lot of you that I don't have a problem with any of you playing or having played the AP. I fiddle with it enough you should be seeing something at least a little different and hopefully compelling.

Sorry guys, I got knocked on my ass by a major virus and I am just now getting back on my feet. It will probably be another 24-36 hours before I get back on posting. Sorry for the delay.

I have always had bad luck with illness, some of it my fault, some of it the location of my profession. (Higher Ed) Now with a little one it is amplified and even though I am in better and better shape than years past, I have to fight off that much more. Thanks for the patience though.

Male Human (Ulfen) Wizard (Enhancer) 2

Can I just say, playing a temperamental Wizard with a fuse so short you can't even see it has proven incredibly cathartic for me.
Not to mention the fact that it is funny as all heck.

And I have to say that this group handles it marvelously, it feels like fantastic character interaction and its awesome to behold.

To let you know, we are packing up our bicycles for few days on a rail-to-trail in Iowa. I don't know how much Internet access we will have over the next week, so please don't let Camillo hold things up - please feel free to take actions on his behalf. Have a great Memorial Day (if you are in the States) and a great week (wherever you might find yourself)!

Sounds good, I will autopilot Cam as best as possible...into traps and fights and all manner of things, just like you would want! :p

Hey everyone I apologize for this :

There have been some recent developments in my life both logistically and emotionally that are going to need my focus and attention. I have been running one other game but am shutting it down so that I can give my DM focus to just this group and be a more consistent presence, I'm sure you all have noticed I have been much more touch and go and I am looking to get back on track and reduce my commitments.

I need about a week and then I should be back. Various things are weighing on my schedule through next Tuesday but then I should be up and running again. I appreciate any tolerance and patience you can through my way and hopefully we can get re-started on my return.

Devon

Thanks for the update. I think you know we can be pretty patient. Take care of business - this is still just a game.

Tomorrow morning I will be flying to Shanghai. I'll be there for a week, returning the following weekend. While I will have Internet access from the hotel and my phone, I don't know if I'll be able to get to Paizo. It may be blocked like Facebook is. Though I should be able to VPN into my work and access a US based proxy server to get out.

Regardless, I would expect my responsiveness over the next week to be spotty. Bot me as needed.

I was in Shanghai a few years ago, amazing city. Hopefully you will have a chance to see some of the sites if you are there for business...if there for vacation, enjoy!

Male Human Cleric 4 [HP 21/23; AC18,T12,FF16; F+5,R+4,W+10; Per+4; Init +2]

Nope, business, and I'll actually be about a 2-3 hour drive inland from the airport. My flight back isn't until Saturday evening, so I plan on going back to Shanghai Friday night and sightseeing Friday evening and Saturday morning, but that's about it.

I may have asked this many ages ago but what do you do for business? Something important enough to take you to China...

BoggBear you are in Europe right? I want to say Sweden but I cannot remember for the life of me...

Male Human (Ulfen) Wizard (Enhancer) 2

True enough, I think you snarked a little about there being no west coast of Sweden when I mentioned that it's where I am.

Male Human Cleric 4 [HP 21/23; AC18,T12,FF16; F+5,R+4,W+10; Per+4; Init +2]

My official title is Software Architect, but basically I lead software development teams. We have a software group in China that I'll be visiting with.

I've been to Hong Kong a couple of times, both before and after the transfer from British to Chinese control. But that was long ago in my Navy days.

Male Half Orc Barbarian 5/ Oracle 1/ RP 1, Perception +7, Darkvision, Fort +8/ Ref +1/ Will +3, Init +4, AC 18, HP :76

Wow, nice. Which Navy? U.S. Navy Senior Chief (Retired) here.

Male Human (Ulfen) Wizard (Enhancer) 2

I applied to join the navy, but I had too poor vision, a real pity, I wanted in.

Male Half Orc Barbarian 5/ Oracle 1/ RP 1, Perception +7, Darkvision, Fort +8/ Ref +1/ Will +3, Init +4, AC 18, HP :76

This is one of the things I have a problem with when it comes to allowing people into Armed Services. I came in with 20/200 vision, and now I have 20/10. The Navy paid to upgrade my vision. If something is fixable with a recruit, why not fix it? Cost is very low for military medical services, and this would allow a broader sample of the population to be recruited. I think we stick with the old ways because that is just the way it always has been.

U.S. Navy. 238 years of tradition, unhindered by progress.

Male Human (Ulfen) Wizard (Enhancer) 2

Well, it's the same in the Swedish navy it seems, Heck, I applied again just this year and got shot down again.
They heightened the requirments sometime this year, which is ironic since my brother is in the army, but he couldn't have passed the eye test today.
And I could have passed minimum requirments if I applied LAST year.

Male Human Cleric 4 [HP 21/23; AC18,T12,FF16; F+5,R+4,W+10; Per+4; Init +2]

US Navy, FireControlman 2nd class when I got out after 6 years. Sometimes I wish I had stayed in for the 20+, but it all worked out.

Looks like I have access when VPN'd into work. But off now to try and get some sleep to get over the jet-lag.

I tired to join in the late nineties, the Navy wanted to make me a nuke tech and let me glow for the rest of my life ;p. I turned them down for the Army and a (relatively) sure assignment to PsyOps as my recruiter was their ranking enlisted person serving a short stint in the recruiting office for a break or something.

Anyway got all the way through the process. I was at Military Entrance Processing, had a Navy nurse who had been on some 16 hour shift draw blood while she was falling asleep, did all my other exams and met with the head doctor at the very end. As I was sitting in his office he was literally moving to sign off on my papers when his eye caught a half dollar sized patch of dry skin on my left forearm. He held up my entrancing, sent me to an external consult with a dermatoligst a couple days later and by the time that was finished he signed off that because I had eczema, I could not serve.

My recruiter was so pissed and they basically told me I would never get in. So I made plans to go to college and thought nothing of it until 5 months went by and I get a call from the Marines, then the Air Force, then the Navy all telling me that since circumstances had changed (we had deployed in Bosnia and what not while I was being processed) that they could probably get my determination overturned. This was like a week before I headed out to college so I told them all thanks but no thanks I had made other arrangements.

I still think about it a lot. My father is ex-Navy was a submarine linguist during the eighties then moved on to NSA then US Air Force Space Command. My mother was a linguist in the Army. My grand-father was in North Africa and so on in WWII...so I always thought I would serve in some capacity. I still feel weird that I didn't.

But like you guys were saying. If they could fix (or avoid) the problem cheap on a recruit why not do it? MY ASVAB stuff was great and I think I would have done well wherever they put me. Certainly worth whatever dry skin I might have had from time to time. *shrugs*

But like Cam I am always happy to thank you folks that served. So thanks! Now I am going to go work on ways to kill your characters :p

Male Human Cleric 4 [HP 21/23; AC18,T12,FF16; F+5,R+4,W+10; Per+4; Init +2]

It seems like they wanted to make anyone who scored high on the ASVAB to be a nuke tech. I took the nuke test as well, but hadn't had all the prerequisite physics knowledge at that time to pass, so I went into the AE&E (Advanced Electrical and Electronics) program instead.

The MEP processing was great fun. I lived in Los Angeles at the time and the MEP center burned down during the LA Riots of 92. My service record was saved, but not until after it was burnt all around the edges. When I showed up for boot camp, you'd get hit with this strong burning smell whenever you opened my record. I remember one person opening it up, blowing out a bunch of ashes as they said, "I see you are from LA".

The Exchange

Male Human Desk Monkey 2/ Logistics Guru 3/ Over-educated 2/Gamer 6

That is wicked funny about the record.

Yah the Navy recruiter basically wouldn't let up about it and I was all for going into the Navy, my dad was ex-Navy and I have always had a fondness for it as a branch of service but basically that recruiter ruined it because any time I asked about anything else he would just go on and on about how that is what they needed.

A lot of my stuff was decent but I blew the decryption/coding section out of the water. I actually finished the section and my test giver gave me the evil eye and told me "I had to finish as many as I could" and I explained to him that I was done. It just really worked for my brain. I figured the Navy what with their intelligence apparatus and all that would be interested in letting me pursue that but NO nuke nuke nuke. Ugh frustrates me just think about it now almost 15 years later!

When the Army guy was like "want to join PsyOps? You seem like our kind of people..." I pretty much dropped the Navy guy like a bad habit.

Funny enough they wanted to make my dad a nuke tech in the eighties and he hit the scores but he had been convicted of driving with a suspended license so they wouldn't let him do it. So instead he got to listen to Soviets jibber jabber while he was crammed in a tin can. The military is funny that way I guess. Won't let some folks go and won't let some people do the work even if they can.

Hp: 1d6 ⇒ 6

By the way, should we look for a replacment for Kerrec?
I kind of like the five people group dynamic.

Male Half Orc Barbarian 5/ Oracle 1/ RP 1, Perception +7, Darkvision, Fort +8/ Ref +1/ Will +3, Init +4, AC 18, HP :76

90% sure I will take a second level of rogue, but the hit points are the same, so Hit points: 1d8 ⇒ 8.

I'm fine with another character if that's cool with the group.

The Exchange

Male Human Desk Monkey 2/ Logistics Guru 3/ Over-educated 2/Gamer 6

I am fine either way. I like the players so I tend to want to stick with what I know but I admit that with the adjustments I made to the game in light of the group's size my brain is tilted to thinking about more than 4.

If you think we should bring in another person what I will probably do is open a recruiting thread up and put a time limit on it and par it down to a couple of entries and have you folks pick the one you think would fit best.

Male Half Orc Barbarian 5/ Oracle 1/ RP 1, Perception +7, Darkvision, Fort +8/ Ref +1/ Will +3, Init +4, AC 18, HP :76

Recruiting thread is up.

A spell? When did you cast a spell? I would have hated to miss that once in a life time occurrence. That would be like missing Haley's Comet.

If any of you want to watch the happenings or chime in one the recruitment page feel free. I plan to bring what I see as the top choices to you guys to vote on or throw your opinion out on. Last time someone from the outside joined it was a quiet affair and Toshio was a smooth fit overall. I would like to see the same thing happen this time. I figure we can do one or two based on the people who want to join and how you guys feel about it.

Male Human (Ulfen) Wizard (Enhancer) 2

All those STD's you’re picking up seems to be affecting your brain Kithian ol' buddy of mine.
You should see Rullis about your "little"...problem.

I've had a cursory glance at the recruitment thread so far, I like the magus, first because it'd be nice to have a female character in the group, second because she is bound to kick Kithian in the goolies the first time he comes on to her, and third because it would probably involve seeing more of Shalelu.
