Sorry. It's fairly obvious that Mel doesn't know what she did wrong, but is sad that she upset the tiny cleric.

Rhost will dip his head toward the flying helmet. "Why not?"

Melinda Sorn wrote:

forwhat? Spivey snarls. isfine. let's all listen to the angel.

She says "let's all listen to the angel" in the same tones someone else might use to say "let's all go catch gonorrhea".

Helgarval settles onto Rhost's head.

Rhost:
As long as you are wearing Helgarval, you gain a +2 deflection bonus to your AC against evil foes, and a +2 resistance bonus on all saving throws made against evil effects or spells cast by evil creatures.

Spivey/DC 25 Perception:
Spivey... If this guy isn't someone that we should listen to... You know that we trust you enough to believe you, right?" A pause. "I mean, you are our friend. He is a random person that showed up on a boat. Heck, until a few seconds ago I thought he was part of the trap." A longer pause, "Still could be... probably shouldn't have let Rhost wear him.... damn"

Alaric wrote:
He turns around to Hrunndalf and offers a thin smile. In a polite tone [...] "I realize that you didn't drag her into this particular dust up, but if you could go ahead and stop dragging her back, I would be grateful."

Though the argument with Lio has left him in a foul mood, Hrunndalf makes himself smile back at the Cleric. "I have no quarrel with Mel... that I know of. I only brought up her anger because, as far as I understand, it is what Lionothae is blaming me for. If Mel was angry at me, though, I should prefer to know why, so as to make amends if need be."

Melinda/Perception DC 25:

why wouldn't welisten? he's a realangel, dedicated to cause ofgood. probably knowseverything and will solve allourproblems. iswhat angels do.

Her tone of voice would melt glass.

Spivery/DC 25 Perception:
"Well... that may be true... I guess... but... If you told me something... and he said something to the contrary... I think I'd believe you. Because you're my friend, and you have never lied to me." Mental shrug, "Of course, I don't believe in judging a person by their planar origins either though."

for some time, Helgarval begins, i have been tracking the kalsgard based activities of an evil minkai organization known as the five storms and i have come to believe that the frozen shadows whom you have mentioned are actually agents of this organization

Melinda:
Helgarval has an aura of faint divination magic.

having learned of snorri stone-eye’s connection with this organization, Helgarval continues, a connection which extended to his minion asvig longthews and having late last night or more properly early this morning caught a vague rumor that something was going to happen aboard snorri’s funeral ship i stowed away aboard the ship only to find myself trapped belowdeck

Human Ranger

"Ooh, that could have gotten...toasty." Myri privately wonders if "angels" are immune to fire.

yes but fortunately your arrival resulted in my freedom thanks be to Desna, Helgarval replies. however noting that you were allied with a powerfully disruptive avatar of pure chaos i decided to wait to make my presence known to you until i had determined whether your group was capable of doing more good than harm by aiding my investigations

Spivey looks irritated enough to chew nails and spit rivets.

Mel moves closer to winged female cleric, obvious in her loyalties.

"So... I'm gonna get back to the inn. You have fun... with that."

before you go it may interest you to know that the powerful trading guild known as the rimerunners guild is actually a front for the frozen shadows, Helgarval says. the rimerunners guild in fact financed snorri stone-eye’s raids in recent years and acquired many of his assets upon his undeath and i believe that investigating this connection further may prove fruitful

Myri looks back and forth between the helmet and Spivey, her smile only broadens, "Now this, is getting interesting." She pauses, looks back and forth again, "Have to say, Helgarval was it? Spivey's got you beat hands down on the cuteness factor...but we do appreciate the additional info. Good ta meecha...and hope you guys figure out a way not to tread on each others toes...or wings, as it were. I would say, 'welcome aboard', but I think that's a group decision...or Ameiko's." She continues walking, somewhere in between the two outsiders.

oh, is Rhost staying? then I guess, she's continuing on towards the inn

Rhost is still trailing along behind Melinda. He is too full of something to stand still for long.

"Sounds good... Anything else that I can do?" her voice saccharine.

since the subject of ravens was mentioned it has also come to my attention that a local spellcaster named goti runecaster has a blood-feather raven as a familiar, Helgarval adds. goti runecaster as it happens is a close associate of and advisor to thorborg silverskorr who is the head of the rimerunners guild

Rhost smacks his fist into his palm ... and then makes the sign to ward off the evil eye.

For winning the trust of Helgarval, angelic servant of Desna, all of you may increase your Relationship score with Koya by +1.

In addition, for ... well, essentially for irritating the enemies of Ameiko Kaijitsu really rather a lot at this point by failing to be all dead and stuff, all of you may increase your Relationship score with Ameiko by +1.

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

"Well, we certainly have a lot of leads." Kalimac absentmindedly strokes Attatoq's head while they walk. "I'm guessing that Snaevald has been watching the Frozen Shadows and maybe the Five Storms. And I bet the precious antique that was taken from him is Suishen."

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

"Where do we start? Snaevald? Runecaster? Silverskorr? Breakfast?" The last said after a particularly insistent growl from the halfling's stomach.

Kalimac Proudfoot wrote:

"I vote for breakfast," says Ameiko.

A happy smile, "Food... And maybe a little normalcy before we dive into the insanity of the five winds... Or we look on our own. 'Cause... well..." looks around at the large group, "We kinda stick out all together."

Male Human (Ulfen) Oracle of Battle 10

Hrunndalf is appropriately flabbergasted by the hovering helmet, but then grateful for the unexpected aid.

Helgarval wrote:

Hrunndalf makes the ouch face.

Kalimac wrote:

"Oh, I am starving. After that, in your order, I'd say. Snaevald might have aid and leads that could prove helpful, and we should get the caster and his unholy beast out of the way before we take on Silverskorr. They know too much about us, and I bet that's Goti's doing."

"Speaking of which," he adds, "the witnesses at the shrine claim the elemental appeared and departed suddenly, with about a minute in between. That points to an uncomfortably powerful summoner."

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

"Breakfast it is, then." His anger packed away for the moment, Kalimac smiles happily in camaraderie. "This is why I love this team. Everyone has their priorities in order," he quips.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Mel smiles at Kalimac, "Darn right. Breakfast, shopping, information about pesky foes, and then those enemies themselves."

She blinks twice, sneezes, "That is the plan, right?"

Male Human Cleric 10

"Snaevald first, I'd think. Another friend couldn't hurt."

Then, aside to Spivey: "When the helmet complained about an avatar of chaos, I assumed it was talking about me."

Though the argument with Lio has left him in a foul mood, Hrunndalf makes himself smile back at the Cleric. "I have no quarrel with Mel... that I know of. Bluff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

The expression Lio turns towards Hrunndalf is unusually blank and unreadable. "Yer klearly naught treaten 'e men uf thise expedetshun weth moare r'speakt thon 'e women." She turns and begins to walk away.

Sense Motive DC 22:
Clearly Hrunndalf has proven her point. He is perfectly civil to Alaric, but Hrunndalf apparently cannot speak reasonably to Mel, nor to Liothonae, and on top of that, disregards what she says.

She's used to being ignored, the whole slave thing sort of makes it hard to take a lot of things personally, but she thought at least in this group of people, she wouldn't be treated like a second class citizen. Either Hrunndalf was a little too comfortable amongst the rules of his homeland, with the freed slaves still being lower class for 3 generations thing... and since she is a freed slave, he must not think very highly of her, or maybe he just thought less of all women. Either way, she's clearly not going to get anywhere with this.

A part of her wants to summon a swarm on his head, and see if he discounts her after that. Anther part of her wonders why no one else is calling him on his constantly degrading behavior. Even Mel defended him and his position. She didn't expect Alaric to take her side, but still... Hrunndalf was wrong. He did treat the women of the group with less respect, he did not ever listen to Lio, blatantly disregarding her request for him to stay quiet on the ship, he hollered Ulf's name, when the other man was clearly not on the ship. There were so many other things, so many other instances. She just hadn't put them together until now. And she was really tired of it. She walks away before she does something that might offend more members of the caravan. Since according to their actions, they all agreed that she was wrong here. Bitter and angry... just a little.

Pausing only momentarily to punch the wall, leaving behind a trace of green blood.

She bows to Yin-Po, "I'm so sorry. I would like to help contribute something to the rebuilding... But I'll have to come back... I didn't bring any money on our excursion this morning."

Lio silently takes the feather.

Kyrademon:

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Any ideas about what bird the feather could have come from? Anything about the bird... patterns of feather growth that could tell me where it grew up? i know... i'm reaching... but i'm not sure what you can tell from looking at a feather. is it freshly shed? is it old? are there foreign substances on it? Was the bird it was taken from alive at the time it was taken? uhm... etc? :)

Possibly the first hint of smile since the beach that early morning, makes its way across Lio's face. As soon as she realizes she's smiling, she stops pretty much instantaneously. Hopefully no one noticed.

Lio/Kyrademon:
i saw some perception spoilers... if i'm there, i'll see if hears what's being talked about unconsciously, so the roll goes to you, but i'm not posting it publicly.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17
i'm not sure how many posts there are, there are three on this page? but will go back later to see if i missed any on other pages and roll when i get the chance... so here is a few rolls, will take the results in order of the spoiler/s... and preview says Lio is a bit distracted today ;)

"Well... some of us had that in our plans. And it is a good quiet way to get information, if you go about it right." Mel really seems to believe what she is saying.

Of course... Mel has two mothers and no fathers, so she may have a different view on information gathering than the others in the party.

"If you say so." Kalimac does not at all sound convinced, but he's not willing to argue the point. "I imagine for that to work, though, it would be best to not take all twelve of us? So after breakfast, shoppers can go shopping, then come back for the rest of us so we can go find Snaevald."

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

"Doesn't Snaevald own a store? I mean... part of the reason why it's so bloody easy for the enemy to keep tabs on us is because we are a huge group of unusual people. So why don't we try collecting information in smaller groups?"

She shrugs, "At the very least Runecaster's raven can't watch us all at the same time."

"Makes sense to me, as long as we divided up into balanced groups. A healer in each, a front line fighter, that kind of thing." After a brief pause: "I should reiterate that I'm very low on power, so I'm not much of a healer until sundown."

"Balanced groups seems reasonable." She thinks for a moment, "Yeah.. that seems balanced." Nods.

"You can learn an astonishing amount by shopping properly," Ameiko agrees with every appearance of seriousness.

As you arrive at the Inn, Kei detaches himself from the crowds of pedestrians. "Out all night?" he chides Melinda. "'At's turrible fer yer health."

Happy grin, "Nope, early morning. Much better for one's health." She motions to the inn, "I just have to grab food and some of my things, have you had breakfast, yet?"

Liothonae:
Quietly, on the way back to the Inn: "I think he means well," Ameiko says. "I've been trying to talk to him about his ... attitudes."

Melinda Sorn wrote:

Mel, being Mel, completely misses the lying, "Well, then let me grab my money and then we can eat before we head out." A pause, "I have lists... somewhere..."

Ameiko:

And possibly could be overheard by Shae if she is still next to Lio

Very quietly, her voice guarded, Lio answers, "So did Hrithik."

Male Human Cleric 10

Alaric heads inside to get his armor on.

Liothonae:
You don't think this feather came from a bird at all, but from some different kind of creature that also happens to have feathers. Other forms of knowledge might therefore be of more use than knowledge of Nature.

You do think whatever creature it is, is not native to this area or adapted to the climate. This feather looks like it molted off due to cold weather.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Alaric:
Mel, up in the room to get her bag and cat, takes full advantage of his occupied hands to kiss Alaric almost as soundly as he did earlier.

Female Elven Urban Druid 9, Brightness Seeker 1

At some point on the walk back to the inn, Lio says outloud, though not loud enough to be overheard by the casual passer by. "Eh featt'er issna frum ah natural kreature. Es summaiknda kreature thos 'as feathers, baught et essna berd. I dunna ken ets adapt'd tah 'e klimate 'ere, thes feather molt'd off bekause uf 'e kolde." As she talks she studies the feather, offering it back to Melinda once she's finished her short explanation.
