Mel:
Hrithik reta pickle

and a will save to NOT roll eyes

Mel seems a little annoyed at the interruption, and something else that she saw.

Hrithik approaches Spivey, bows to her, and holds out one of the items recovered from the Brinewall Keep: a small box of Desnan scripture strips affixed to a strap for wearing around the head.

"We encountered a defiled Desnan shrine inside the Keep. There was a hidden cache of items left by the previous priests. We thought you should have first claim, as Brinewall's openly Desnan ghost-in-residence this past decade."

Offering the item low, he says, "Brinewall Chapel's phylactery of faithfulness."

Upon seeing annoyance, Hrithik beams a broad smile at her, eyes crinkling in happiness. He keeps moving toward Spivey.

Sense Motive DC 20:
It's as though complicated expressions of unvoiced annoyance playing across someone's face have become one of the Few of His Favorite Things.

After Spivey

Hrithik walks away from Spivey with a smile, knowing the last pleasant interaction of the day has just passed behind him, knowing that is entirely his responsibility.

Hrithik moves to Ameiko, the dried blood, sweat, dirt, and grime of his armor a grim contrast to her clothes. His eyes are sad, but firm. "May I have a moment of your time in private?"

Ameiko:
When they are in a private place, Hrithik stands at attention before her. "I've earned a great deal with my willful blindness. After your Grandfather's spirit reached into my head, I replayed every event in my life, old and new, for the better part of an hour, all lined up and compared to each other. I'd rather get the hardest response to those events, from the people I most care for, first."

Entirely GM call as to whether the long-burning torch Hrithik has carried for Ameiko came through in memories for her. He keeps that stuff buried deep, but I imagine she could have gotten anything from zero to complete immersion.

"The only things I can offer in my defense are three. First, Miss Zaiobe can carry, without ill effect, the cursed cult statue of the Demon Lord of Flying Evil, and made an obvious and notable effort to acquire it secretly and deviously rather than openly and honestly. Secondly, our new friend, Priestess Spivey, seems distinctly unnerved with both Dame Kelda and Miss Buttersnips. Third, my life experience and field training in regard to reading inner motivation indicates that Miss Buttersnips, as a person, is Not Good At all. As large as my failings have been, I have not been blind to uncomfortable Truths, and I wished to inform you of those Truths privately rather than publicly."

Hrithik stands at the ready, shame and disappointment creeping into his features. "As for how I have handled those Truths, and behaved in response to Them ... I am now well aware of Whom I have been unthinkingly emulating."

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

After arriving back at the caravan and relieving Attatoq of the Tollin's sled, Kalimac removes Attatoq's gear. He takes the large wolf down to the Steam River for a quick cleaning. Matted fur is a pain to take care of if you wait too long, so getting Attatoq clean in the half-hour they have is his first priority.

Male Halfling Cavalier 10

With a clean, if somewhat damp, wolf in tow, Kalimac arrives for the caravan meeting.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

While cooking, Mel asks Rhost, "Huwa l-tewm mqatta fin biżżejjed?"

Goblin:
"Is the garlic minced fine enough?"

Male Half-elf Barbarian

"iva. ħin li jmiss aħna tfarrakha" Rhost says to Melinda.

If Myriana is still helping, Rhost gestures to the garlic, and says "tro nesaf rydym yn gwasgu".

Goblin:

"Yes. Next time we crush."

Elvish:

"Next time we smash."

...

Myriana smiles and gets the brush she bought in Galduria before sitting down beside him. She puts her hand on his shoulder, then up to his head, scratching around his ear, before beginning to brush the fur along his back and side brushing any burs or other material out of his fur.

Goblin:
"Do we have a special hammer? Don't want to use one that has been used in battle."

Male Half-elf Barbarian

Rhost grins and holds up a hand, palm down.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Mel looks at Rhost's hand, holds up her own, looks at it, "Imbagħad għandna problema. I użu idejn tiegħi fil-ġlieda kontra, imdemmi." She looks a bit sad.

Goblin:
"Then we have a problem. I use my hands in combat, bloody."

Male Half-elf Barbarian

Rhost shakes his head. "l-ċatt ta 'sikkina," he says.

Goblin:

"the flat of a knife"

...and to Myriana, "y fflat y llafn"

Elvish:

Elven:

"Not this time? You're sure?"

Male Half-elf Barbarian

"nid yw heno" Rhost says. He pauses, cocks his head to the side, and continues. "efallai y bydd pryd o fwyd gyfan sy'n hwyl i goginio." Rhost grins back at Myriana. "pan fyddwch yn awydd."

...and to Melinda, "wisq koki ħafna huma bidu tajjeb"

Elven:

"not tonight. perhaps there will be an entire meal that is fun to cook. when you desire."

Goblin:

"too many cooks are a good start"

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Mel cocks her head to one side, her hands still cutting a red potato. "Bidu tajjeb għal liema?"

Goblin:
A good start for what?

"kollox. xejn." Rhost pauses for a moment, rutabaga in hand, searching for the right word. And gives up. "l-affarijiet kollha"

Goblin:

"everything. anything. all things."

Myri continues to smile at Rhost, a glint in her eye, "Byddaf yn edrych ymlaen ato."

Elven:

"I will be looking forward to it."

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Mel stops, her attention focusing on Rhost. The looks is the same as when she first started teaching him goblin vocabulary. Her voice soft, "Tista 'tiddeskrivi l-kelma li qed tfittex?"

Goblin:
"Can you describe the word you're looking for?"

Myri patiently waits for Mel & Rhost to finish their conversation. Her eyes flick from one to the other, she does not disguise the fondness that she feels for both of her friends.

Male Half-elf Barbarian

Rhost hunts for the word. It may take a while.

Kalimac leaves Attatoq to his decadent pampering at the hands of Myri, and goes in search of the source of the heavenly odors coming from Rhost's cook fire. It's been a long day, and Kalimac is hungry. So is Attatoq for that matter. Kalimac wonders what's on the wolf menu today.

Still chatting quietly with Rhost in goblin, looks up at Kalimac, smiles and realizes that more time has passed than she realized. The girl, still dirty and grimy except for her hands and forearms, leaves the cooking area.

Hrithik bows to the lyrakien cleric. "We may be embarking on an epic journey soon. I am certain Master Sandru's gathering will address the idea. If you would like to haunt our Caravan for the journey, I know I, for one, would delight in your company."

"Look, I'm not about to kick you while you're already down. If you've figured out what you've been doing, that's a start, right?"

"But if you want my advice, rather than my, uh ... I don't know, anger ... A good place to start might be treating the people you're traveling with, with respect, rather than just courtesy. It's, it's been notably lacking. And that has been ... uncomfortably familiar."

"But that having been said ... how are you doing? Are you all right?"

Melinda or Perception DC 25 Plus Goblin Language:
The look in Reta’s eyes, when she answers you, is more serious than you have generally seen. In Goblin, she replies: ”Reta is not a fool, stepmother. Reta knows that however much her father will try to protect her, she is only here at the whim of others. So Reta will be the funny, funny, foolish Goblin, and everyone will laugh and say, look at the funny Goblin, how funny she is, she not like those other Goblins, we keep her around. Reta not mind that. Reta like joking. But Reta know price of that is some will always treat her like crazy toddler. Not you. Not father. But some. And Reta accept that as fair price of living with longshanks, but does not have to like it.”

Myris sits absolutely aghast at the interchange between Aunty Koya and the uncleric...and yet she knows they have a great bond between them. Perhaps in time she will understand how they can insult each other so and still care so deeply for one another.

Female Quarter-Orc Sorcerer

Reta/Perception DC 25 (goblin):
"First, and most importantly. Some of the people here don't get the right to judge you... And that is one of them. There are rules to living with humans... but being forced into the role of jester is not one of them." The look in Mel's own eyes is dead serious. "Ignore him, talk to the people in the caravan that treat you with the same respect that you treat them. And I'm pretty sure your Father would agree with me on that."

"Second... by the rules of our people, I am not your stepmother. But I do like being your friend, okay?"

Female Elven Urban Druid 9, Brightness Seeker 1

Liothonae has been very quiet throughout the walk back to the caravan. She has stayed quite a distance from the sleds, possibly falling a little behind the group. Upon the initial greetings, she searches out Shalelu with her eyes and gives her a small smile, but does not approach the elven woman, as Myri speaks to her. She goes silently to the wagon the women have been sharing, while everyone is speaking to each other.

She cleans herself up quickly, trading her torn bloody clothing for cleaner pants and a long sleeved shirt. She puts her new cloak on, to ward off the night's chill. When she emerges from the wagon a few minutes later, she holds her backpack in hand, the warding box is presumably in it. If she sees a chance to speak to Ameiko, once everyone else has spoken to her, she will approach. Otherwise she will sit quietly by the fire, waiting for the good smelling dinner to be completed.

liothonae:
Shalelu catches your eye and returns your smile, but when you do not approach, she respects your apparent wishes and does not approach you either.

Ameiko looks up at Liothonae, and smiles in greeting.

Lio looks up at Ameiko, smiles almost shyly, and takes the box out of her bag. She offers it to Ameiko.

Melinda/Perception DC 25 (Goblin):
"Reta is still Goblin. To very most longshanks, Reta can be funny Goblin or scary Goblin. Reta can say, 'I will stab them in the eye!' or Reta can say 'I WILL STAB THEM IN THE EYE!', but Reta cannot not say. Better to say the first."

The talk of a wolf slowly percolates into Myri's brain. She glances at Attatoq, as she continues to stroke him, getting any residual debris out of his fur and giving him a nice massage at the same time. He does not seem to be reacting, so the likelihood that it is a potentially dangerous pack is probably slight...but even a solo stray? Well, as long as he does not seem concerned, it is probably nothing. Perhaps tonight she will look around. "Umm, Aunty? What did happen with the..uh, wolf you mentioned?"

Liothonae:
There was a whole big note about how Shalelu asked Myriana to give her a few minutes to she could 'greet other people' before having their talk, those 'other people' referring entirely to YOU. ;) She is taking some time to actively seek you out.

Ameiko accepts the box from Liothonae. "Thank you, she says. "I'm glad it was you keeping it safe."

Liothane:
Increase your relationship score with Ameiko by +2.

Mel goes an interesting shade bordering on jade and emerald. She looks down at Reta. And then she smiles.

Myri/Kalimac and Attatoq:

Wild Empathy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

in order to finish the job. When she is done, she continues to sit with one hand on his shoulder. ... Unless it looks like Kalimac objects.
