<He ... he was asking me to prove I could be trusted,> she says, <And when I said, um, you’re an admitted liar and murderer who broke into my house, he was all like, ‘Why are you trying to change the subject? Are you hiding something?'> The laughter continues. <That isn’t funny. Why am I laughing when that totally shouldn’t be funny?>

yes to one, no to two, noseynosey. now myturn. where youandyouandyou from? asks Spivey.
"I ain't never been out of Varisia, I'm shamed to say," answers Koya. She looks reflective. "Although it looks like that's fixin' to change."
"'nothin to be 'shamed of." Myri states emphatically. "Varisia's a big place. I...I don't think I've been out of Varisia. I kinda just follow my sister around, I guess. When she's not around, I've spent most of my time in I guess a pretty small area. Fort Rannick, Wyvern Mountains, Iron Peaks, Ashwood, Kreegwood, Sanos Forest...I guess my favorite places when I was alone were in the Shimmerglens...um, Whitewillow in particular. You look very much like many of the inhabitants there." She lowers her eyes than looks expectantly at Hrunndalf.

Alaric bursts out laughing.

Buttersnips seeks you out before she departs.
"Well," she says. "I guess this is goodbye for a few weeks ... See you in Karlsgard?"
Myri pauses for just an instant. "Yes, I...Please keep yourself safe. Traveling alone can be dangerous. I know Uncle Sandru said something about your making contacts at Karlsgard...but please be careful. ... ... Um..May I?" She makes a motion towards Buttersnips to give her a farewell hug.

Buttersnips returns your hug enthusiastically. "You keep safe too, Adannaya," she says. "Even leaving my personal feelings on the matter aside, we can't afford to lose you."
Myri squeezes Buttersnips tightly. Her eyes momentarily tear up at the mention of her Shimmerglens name, but she is distracted by the words that follow. "What do you mean? Why not? I'm not special." Her brow krinkles again, "...and who is we?"

<Ah, well.>

"Well ... it sure sounds like a crap job."
** spoiler omitted **
Tollin stares at her for a few more seconds and then with a nod he stands. I am not an adventurer, nor am I throne maker, I am a bounty hunter. He pauses again cocking his head as he looks at Ameako, he appears to be thinking about something. The indavidual who sits upon the throne, he...or she seems to have killed a large number of people for that seat. If the true head of government were to place a bounty upon their head I would be interested in collecting such a bounty...one copper piece sounds about right.

Buttersnips looks extremely surprised. "Why, I mean the fey, naturally. And of course you're special. You musn't be so modest. You are Adannaya, your father's daughter, one of the destined Redeemers. I certainly think that qualifies as special."
Myri lowers her face a little to the right with just a touch of a frown, but is still looking at Buttersnips. "'One of...' ... 'destined Redeemers'?" she pauses, "Buttersnips, I have no idea what you're talking about. What is a 'Redeemer'...and why me?" She doesn't seem nearly as nervous about such a proposition as even...what, yesterday?

Ameiko considers. "I am trying," she finally says, "To find some comfortable middle ground for saying, 'I am not the Empress' while also saying 'Sure, I'll give you a copper to kill the bastard'. I'm having some trouble finding it. That good enough for you anyway, for now, until I think of it?"

"You are the Wild Man's daughter. You will help redeem him, and win back what was stolen from the Wild. And before you ask, no, I don't know exactly what that means, although I do know it's tremendously important, and I do know that there are fey who do know what it means."

While the others are off to Brinewall Tollin begins storing the things he collected from Brinewall throughout the caravan. As he does he takes detailed notes of the supplies that he has recovered Ry I assume Tollin could have found blank sheets of paper and ink back at the castle.
Once this is done he begins to take measurements of the different wagons as he checks them over for any thing that could cause a problem on the road. After he has the measurements and the inspections are finished he begins to sketch out the wagons with the measurements noted on each drawing.

The paper and ink at the castle was all claimed by Liothonae, but you would have seen that, and I think it is reasonable to assume that she would give some to you if you asked unless and until Liothonae posts a statement saying otherwise.

Tollin looks a Ameiko and a small smile flashes across his face. I did not realize that my question could be considered a verbal trap, I did not mean it as such. I will lend you my aid with the understanding that this is being done for the good of the Tian people.

Before everyone leaves in the morning for Brinewall, Tollin would approach her, stopping about eight feet away. Tollin does not appear to be in anyway uncomfortable in Lio's presence. He appears to be leaving this space open for her comfort. Excuse me Liothonae, At the castle you collected paper and ink. I was wondering if you could spare twelve sheets of paper and perhaps some ink? I wish to strengthen the wagons but I need to make sketches of them as they are now and then sketches of them with the modifications I would make. I also need to make a list of the supplies that I gathered from Brinewall for this purpose. If you have need of the paper though I understand and can ask others in the caravan if they have some to spare. Tollin calmly waits for Lio's response.

Ameiko flashes a smile back. "Didn't think you were trying to trap me, just feeling a little, uh, 'gunshy' of that topic given recent conversation. Thank you for wanting to help; I appreciate it."

<Well. Most of the group seems all right, really. Kalimac, Ameiko ... and if I wanted to hold out until I could associate only with groups that were completely and entirely free of all prejudice among all their number, I think I’d be waiting a long time.>

Flex Time: Chapel Cleansing
While moving rubble and cleaning walls, Hrithik will be thoroughly looking through the broken-off bits and debris for ones that are relatively intact. He is looking for a sentimental object, relatively coherent and meaningful, but not attached to the Chapel proper, to give to Koya. Sifting the wreckage, specifically.
Perception (take 20): 20 + 8 = 28
Also, for declaration's sake, Hrithik has Sociogen prepared today, not Cognogen. At this point, it is unused.
During a lull in the hard labor of cleaning the Chapel, Hrithik approaches Melinda and nods to her. "May I have the pleasure of your company to help move some of the rubble piling up in the hallway into another room?"

Buttersnips tilts her head. "No one ever told you? Were there no fey with a hand in your upbringing, then?"
"You are the Wild Man's daughter. You will help redeem him, and win back what was stolen from the Wild. And before you ask, no, I don't know exactly what that means, although I do know it's tremendously important, and I do know that there are fey who do know what it means."
"Only Yap, but upbringing? Not really, I guess. I always thought of him more as a friend or playmate. ... ... Of course you realize that makes me want more than almost anything to find these 'fey who do know'...and that I can't even spend the time to look for them because I can't abandon my friends. ... That is so unfair." Myri sighs resignedly, "I don't even know why the 'Wild Man' would need redeeming ... much less what was stolen. If you find out anything, even just a lead, could you let me know...please? ... ...and...is there any reason I can't ask others to look for me? Do these 'Redeemers' have any uh, natural enemies? ...and how many of them, uh, us are there anyway?"

She looks up at you. "If Yap never told you, it was probably due to some agreement about the matter made among the Seelie. They like that sort of thing -- concords, compacts, rules. Seelie fey believe in cooperation. So you might want to direct your inquiries among the Unseelie fey instead. We don't hold with that sort of thing. When we see something we want ... we compete for it."
The grin she flashes at you is, perhaps, slightly unsettling.
"See you in Karlsgard?"
Hrithik Ranbhir |
As the two continue to shift the heavy load, he says, "I don't know if I can explain this well, but for the first time yesterday, I saw Mistress' Library. All of it, at once. And I saw the entirety of the Temple library she permitted Father to acquire. Every work was truthful, every one accurate, and between them they covered every field of study known to Golarion. But seeing them all at once, which I may never have managed otherwise, I saw that there was a pattern to the collection. Accurate as it was, it was also, very subtlely, very carefully, selective."
"Nothing glaring. Nothing overt. Nothing false or fabricated, nothing clearly omitted. But the sum effect of all the works chosen for Her Library was to quietly emphasize the worst parts of everything and gloss smoothly over the best. She wanted me to know that entire Library, to recall it perfectly in time, and She wanted me to be poisoned by its inherent silent perspective. She wanted me to constantly fear for those I loved, fear all the evil in the worlds, and act from that fear on others' behalf."
Hrithik nods as they set the debris chunk is set down in a distant corner. "It worked, genius that She was. Trained and drilled to recall detail after detail, I don't know that I ever otherwise would have been able to see the entire Library at once."
Hrithik looks into Melinda's eyes. "I ignorantly and unthinkingly swallowed a great deal of prejudice in my training. If there were kinder analyses of the Quest for Sky, I would only have read extracts of them, not detailed arguments. I believe my education gave me a bigoted expectation of Mr. Godsfist, which I ignorantly accepted."
Hrithik bows to Melinda, almost absurdly low and deep. "I wish to apologize for my unjustified fear for your well-being concerning Mr. Godsfist, and apologize to him for my bigotry."

"Oh, Yap. I remember him. I'm afraid there's very little I know beyond what I have already told you, but I'll certainly make inquiries and let you know if there's anything I find out. I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to ask around ... Unless ..."
She looks up at you. "If Yap never told you, it was probably due to some agreement about the matter made among the Seelie. They like that sort of thing -- concords, compacts, rules. "See you in Karlsgard?"
"Unless? ... ...I will be there. Take care...and please be careful." Myri gives Buttersnips another quick, tight parting hug, leaving many questions in her mind unanswered. As (assuming) Buttersnips leaves, she continues to gaze in that direction wondering if her big sister, might be able to enlighten her a little more on the subject of Seelie, Unseelie, Redeemers, the Wild Man...and why in the world he would need to be redeemed in the first place.
