Gar spins around on Kast. "Hey! Watch your tongue lad. Just 'cause it dropped you like a sack of spoiled melons. Tis no reason to get snooty with me. Have at 'im if you wish, but try not to take Malcolm's head off in the process."

Gar squeezes back down the tunnel to allow Kast with his longspear to pass. He gives Danaris and Zees a quizzical look conveying - What's up with Kast?

Male Human (Chelaxian) Cleric 2

Doubt this will help much, but . . .

As Kast races past, Danaris prays for Erastil's assistance in relieving Kast's burdens.

Use calming touch power from the community domain. Heals 1d6+1 nonlethal, removes fatigued, shaken, and sickened conditiions

Actually, nice move.

Actually the monster falls to the ground
Malcolm , why did you call it a skeleton ?

and at Danaris's touch , Kast's mind become much clearer
Well done there Danaris

So what are you doing to do now ? FOR THE MOMENT , the monster's bellowing do no seem to have attracted company ...

Kast moves up to examine it in greater detail.

He will poke and prod and even go as far as to use his dagger to cut it open to examine the innards.

"Zees, come look at this again. What is it?"

robin, what knowledge would this be?

When he's finished examining the body, Kast will retrieve his morningstar and shield, again stowing his longspear (unless Gar wants it in this closed space).

Kast will then take a moment to look at the ranseur.

"This is nice, I may take it to practice with. Do you mind if I take it?"

Interestly the monster does not seem to have any digestive tract which might allow you to class it as an aberration aka knowledge dungeoneering which none of you have ...

My mistake Robin...just glad I killed it!

I suggest we move on down the hallway...thoughts?

"Good job Malcolm."

As Kast undertakes his 'dissection', Gar moves further down the tunnel to try to look for any tracks that their prey may have been allowed past this creature.

"This thing recently killed a Goblin, could it have allowed Ameiko and her brother past?"

I am assuming the Goblin skewered on its weapon was recent.

Will take a '20' or even a '10' to look for human tracks if allowed while the others investigate the creature. If not: Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Male Human (Varisian) Sorcerer 2D6

Kast's initiative to cut open the creature is a surprise to Dorin. He recovers from his revulsion to hear Malcolm's and Gar's questions. "We should keep looking for Ameiko." he echoes, keeping the Dancing Lights renewed.

"I agree. It seems unlikely they came this way given this creature's unwillingness to even discuss the matter with us. There is still one passageway left at that last intersection to explore. We could look around this next corner and then head back to the intersection."

Gar can't see no sign of passage but going back to the last passage , it peters after some distance into a dead end .

"There were no sign of them at the sea cave, a dead end, and this creature. This bricked-up tunnel had already been breached, maybe a deal had already been struck that this thing was meant to cover the escape. The man burned his father alive and made off with his sister if we can believe it. Made deals with Goblins to let them into the town. Making a deal with it is not that big of a stretch."

After Gar walks a little further down the passage. "There is a warren down here." And he will move up to the first intersection.

Male Human (Varisian) Sorcerer 2D6

"Kast, you don't study evil, you just destroy it entirely." Dorin whispers from behind him. We never saved any of the goblin bodies that attacked the caravan, he thought to himself, we just burned the carcasses.

Dorin kept casting Dancing Lights as needed as the party moved down the corridor.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Cleric 2

Gar will step into the cave to give it a good look around.

Is this a natural cave? Have parts (other than the passage way Gar just came from) been worked at all?

Male Human (Varisian) Sorcerer 2D6

Between Kast's and Zees' discussion Dorin has a hard enough time keeping his stomach from churning. He continues casting Dancing Lights as needed.

New map

Malcolm
I let it open on purpose. If you don't go see , you can't know :)

Gar
so far all the passages have been natural . there are from time to time some strange rock formations you could swaer are the remains of old bricks but you would not say they are meant to be there to consolidate a passage or enlarge it for example

Kast keeps step with Gar and Malc.

I've never been in a passage like this before. I didn't even know these existed under Sandpoint and I've lived here my entire life.

Whispering back to Zees: "Zees, did you know about these passages? This is pretty bizarre, right? We may be the first Sandpointians to travel down here in a long time."

Kast seems a bit excited about the prospect, yet worried about what is to come.

Sandpointians? Sandpointers? Sandpeople?

"Well..not the first. Ameiko might have been forced this way...well..best to keep going and not dwell on it."

Gar heads down the next passage to the right.

Male Human (Varisian) Sorcerer 2D6

Dorin suddenly remembered something at Gar's words. "Wait a minute, everyone." he called out. The young man stopped and took off his backpack, rummaging around inside it. "C'mon, I put it somewhere...there!" Dorin triumphantly held up several pieces of white chalk tied together. Placing a few in his hand, he put the rest back into his backpack just as the Dancing Lights sputtered out. "Whoops!" Dorin said as he hurriedly cast the spell again. Then he re-slung the backpack on his shoulders and, taking a piece of chalk, drew a large white arrow on the wall next to him. "When you don't know where you're going, be sure you can get back! Old caravan saying." he told the dumbfounded party. Seeing the older adults' looks on him, Dorin quickly said "All done! I'll put us a new arrow on the wall at every turn."

The younger man did his best Zees imitation, looking innocent.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Cleric 2

"That's a fine idea, Dorin." Danaris gives Dorin a weary smile and then continues to trudge on, nursing his wounds.

Gar turn a corner to suddenly stop. Before him is another broken wall this one was part of a room and its straight walls are clear indications that this room is not a natural one . Large amounts of rubble lie strewn on the floor amidst bits of pottery. In the north wall is a closed door.

Malcolm will listen as well.

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 19

Male Human - Varisian Wizard 1 - Universalist

Zees glances about nervously in the shadowy light. Being at the rear of the party is no longer so comforting when they keep ducking around corners into rooms and there is unexplored territory behind him. It seems like forever, but Zees particularly wonders if it's been 2 hours since they started this adventure and whether or not his mage armor is still there. He looks back into the passageway to make sure nothing is sneaking up behind them. Perception1d20 ⇒ 5

You hear nothing and it has been less than an hour since the first fight

Gar will take a look for anything unusual.

Perception -> 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Kast Phaer bounces on this good right leg in anticipation of the door opening, his left leg burns like fire from all the walking and stress of combat.

C'mon, let's get moving, my leg doesn't like standing!

The door open on a corridor . Following it you arrive at a crossing

The O represents a red marble statue of a strikinhly beautiful woman despite her expression of rage . the wom is represented weating flowing robes , her long hair being held back from her face by an intricate headress of hooks and blades. In her left hand she wears a large book . Her right hand wears a glittering metal and ivory ranseur (not a part of the statue obviously)

Statue? Here?

Overcome with curiosity, Kast will go examine the statue and the ranseur.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 Know History
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 Know Local
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Know Nature (!?)
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 Know Religion
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 Know Planes

Are the book and ranseur a separate pieces from the statue?

"Zees! Come looksee at this! What do you think? Remember anything like this from your books?"

Male Human (Chelaxian) Cleric 2

Danaris examines the statue, trying to recognize the woman or the symbols she seems to be carrying.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17: Knowledge Religion, aiding Kast.

Kast Phaer wrote:

Assuming Kast has not been run through by a ranseur wielding statue.

Happy to potentially be of use, Zees works his way forward to P7 or P6 if necessary. He'll examine the statue without touching it trying to think of something smart to say about it.

Knowledge: Aracana = 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Knowledge: Geography = 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Knowledge: History = 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Knowledge: Local = 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Knowledge: The Planes = 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

"Well...it's obvious from the portrayl of the woman as both beautiful and angry...combined with the setting of the book, knowledge, and the ranseur, a weapon of the noble courts, that..."

The statue date from before the Eathfall . Its style is thassilonian but the identity of the person described there eludes you which is not surprising giving that we know nearly nothing about the thassilonian empire . The book is part of the statue and interestingly a seven pointed star is graved unto its cover. The ranseur is not part of the statue and could be used in combat .

The passage east is is fact descending ( the amber case being stairs)

"I have no use for a ranseur and I'm also a bit leery of whether or not it's safe to touch, but I'll step out the way if someone else is interested." Zees will walk to P3 and look around the corner.
