Noticing that Ren is in a good position, Chrona holds her ground and chastises the sinspawn with the best odds of getting around Praetor.

Varak as well would charge in with his team, looking to claw at one of these horrid creatures. He had no desire to taste their horrid flesh and blood once again.

Varak, you and Arkon combine to bring one down. Chrona, your check is successful.

Lackspell will lob in his final bomb for the day, picking a spot where he can get the largest concentration of them in the splash without endangering his companions.

Assuming a hit ...

Burn!: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

So the one hit directly takes 8 and any caught in the blast take 6 points of damage with a Reflex Save (DC 15) for half damage.

And that's it - officially all out of bombs for the day. It's the crossbow for me from here on in. :)

They all FAIL their saves! Lackspell, you target the one assaulted by Praetor, and that one is incinerated. The rest are singed by the blast wave.

The one demoralized by Chrona attempts to attack Varak with two claws;

Claws: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

But it is clearly shaken and misses both attacks.

The remaining one tries to bite Praetor;

Ren, frustrated gives up waiting for them to come to her and tries to stay hidden as she moves up to get nearer the creatures so she can help her companions.

Having thrown his last bomb, Lackspell spends this round drawing out his light crossbow and loading it...


Praetor will lay into the one nearest to him;

Arkon, you, and Orz take down one, aided by Lackspell's previous bomb.

Chrona, you and Ren manage to take down the other, and Praetor's powerful strokes do for the final one.

Now that you're in the room and out of combat, you're able to look around. You're on the bottom floor of what was clearly at one time a prison. Any prisoners are long gone, however, and many of the bars have rusted; the room is in disrepair.

There is a door to the east.

Chrona will scan the room in disgust, nudging over whatever debris with her toe and sword as she waits for Ren to give the lone remaining door an "all clear".

Varak would watch and wait for the sign to continue on. He'd glance around the prison cells, curious of such a room and its horrid state. Why were those two hiding in here? Could it have just been where the ugly creatures felt most at home or were they acting as sentrys. He'd cast another spell to detect magical aura's and giving the room a quick scan, just to be sure there wasn't any hidden items.
