About Varak Suur

The life of Varak Suur was one of simplicity destined for complication. Born of the Tribe of the Fresh Water, they had long since secluded themselves in the swamps away from civilization. The lands had grown popular with goblins and humans, each taking more from the lizalk tribes that couldn't protect their lands from man and eggs from greedy goblins. The risk of losing tribeman became too great to stay in their homes for long, forcing them back further and further in search of safety. They would eventually find it in an odd place.

The tribe would stumble upon the black dragon, Seczandevisader, a Young Black who at first filled the tribe with fear, having heard in tales of the wickedness of blacks. While it was not uncommon though for tribes to form mutual alliances with dragons, the concern it would kill them all instead was fair issue, that was though until it spoke. Varak watched from safety as the elders spoke with it, and learned that it walked a different path. It offered them a peaceful alliance and protection in cohabitation.

Varak would come to learn the dragon as a redeemed black, a dragon who had returned to the side of good as all dragons had once been. It was a follower of the father dragon Apsu, and in turn taught those of the tribe who wished to learn the ways of the Waybringer. It taught them of the wicked dragon God, Dahak and of the coming draconic war, of the suffering many have undergone from its wickness. This would feed into the young Varak's zealousness and convince him to persue this path of the waybringer to the end. He wished to prove his worthiness to Apsu and bring his people into a better light so that all could experience peace.

His peace would be brought to a crashing halt though, as when he had only barely reached the age to venture out on his own to spread the word of his faith and protect the innocent as was the way of Apsu, his tribe would come under attack from another young wyrm. A red dragon had come, seeking the black for its traitors ways to vanquish. A sea of fire would destroy his home and loved ones, and eventually his leader and teacher of years. Some of the faithful though had survived, Varak included. They would fight another day, and all planned to bring the fight next to Dahak. Now all have gone their own ways, eager for vengeance on the red, and to purge evil like Dahak's from this land.
