I like playing rise of the runelords, it would be good to keep it going, but I also think we need to make sure all are still wanting to play. Otherwise we need to get both a GM and a few players,
Selaros Teskarova
If you lurk about that good I think you should have been a rogue or slayer :p
Selaros Teskarova
Well with all that advanced weapon and armor training there is out there now, you can make some rather tanky frontliners :)
Nothing beats having a DR/-
Selaros Teskarova
So are we missing Sizma and a new GM? I'm up for keep going, if we can find a GM who doesn't think we scared the last 2 away :p
GM Wasted
*clears throat*
Ahem.
Hey guys.
How's tricks? Sorry I ghosted. Without getting too deep into it (because I've experienced this to death, which will be funny in a minute); liver cancer. I'm good now though! Had to get a living donor. Several months of treatment and then surgery and rehab...it all happened pretty suddenly.
But I'm good now! Totally healthy and back and I wouldn't mind picking up the game again, though I completely understand if you'd rather not have me run for y'all. Just offering!
Selaros Teskarova
Hi wasted
Welcome back, we were talking about getting a new GM but I think we might have to recruit a few new people. I wouldn't mind you picking up the game again.
----- Edit -----
I'm glad you are back on your feets and declared healthy, do you still have to go to control or are you 100% cancerfree?
Calin Moonbreeze
Good to have you back on boards and as someone whose family often finds that cancer keep up the good fight!
(Lets just say 3/4 grandparents, 2 aunts and one uncle have succumbed to that battle. My mother has at the moment kicked lung cancers butt and a cousin is at the tail end of battling breast cancer so i totally feel you!)
Selaros Teskarova
We haven't heard from Sizma in a while, I'm not sure about Mary (The Wisp) I gave her a heads up you were back in pm. I don't seem to have the option to PM Sizma so I only contected those I could
The Desna Knight is inside a house trying to dispatch a goblin hiding in a closet while the others were out on personal errands. Mostly Calin's but the others follow to put him in an awkward place.
We haven't done to much after you left, been on the boarhunt with Alden Foxgloved at spent some time fooling around when GM was busy RL.
Selaros Teskarova
We do have one on the recruitment who applied before you disappeared
Selaros Teskarova
So I can still annoy Mary doing actions she doesn't think benefits a hero of Sandpoint :p But I am vigilante so it's not totally the same :)
GM Wasted
Cool. So that's three. Think we'll still shoot for six (I like more people for a PbP I feel like I can move the story along better). Which really means we aim for an arcane, a divine, and whatever we feel would round the group out nicely.
Your input is important to me in this so I'll want to know what you think
Selaros Teskarova
I think you are right about arcane and divine, at least one of them should be a 9th caster. I don't mind if we end picking 3 different casters, but it would not be bad to maybe get an archer/blaster as we are 3 melee already.
I think 3-4 is the most melee I would prefer in a group so we don't end in clusters trying to get in attack range.
Selaros Teskarova
I'll be away over the hollidays, from tomorrow midday to the 26th
Selaros Teskarova
I've had a very busy week and haven't paid attention to the recruitment I'm afraid.
I would be open to all but I perfer to at least have a divine and arcane caster one of which is a full 9 caster.
With me, Calin and Mary as wanting to get into melee maybe one who can rain death from a distance could be good also.
Edit:
I kinda like to give Eustoma Hadlefoot a chance, she seems very interrested in joining this campaign.

Great Christmas present to come back to a Runelords group. GM Wasted, I just did some reading back into history and am very glad to hear you got past that!

Looking back to the start of this I have read a bit on who is who.
For myself I am in NE US, specifically a wonderful little town called Saratoga Springs, for you Disney fans yes the resort is based on this town. I am a mature gamer, 45, with a lovely wife and a six month old daughter. I have been gaming since D&D red book so I may occasionally screw up which rule is current.
This is my first true PbP game and I am excited as all hell.
For young Rast (only 16) he is new to the whole thing so it will be fun to see how he does. Since he seems to have missed a goblin raid know that he has done his best to tend to the injured and feeling like he has not done enough either with his faith or his mace.
GM Wasted
Welcome, welcome all! Glad to have you aboard.
Some time tonight after work I'm going to put together a "story so far" post. This will definitely involve a bit of fiat, but it will get you all together and the game moving.
For my prepared casters, at the start of every day I do require a list of prepared spells. Feel free to include that in a spoiler somewhere on your stat line.
If you have other questions I'll answer as soon as I can.
Asa Norowareta
Will do. I also try to keep it up to date on my character page (including using struck through text like this to indicate when I have cast something that doesn't recharge.
A bit about me. I am on the East Coast (Virginia), in my thirties with an almost 7 month old daughter and lovely wife. I have a very odd work schedule (my workplace is 24/7) that sees me working 5 day strings at rotating shifts (5 AM to 1 PM, 1 PM to 9 PM, and 9 PM to 5 AM). So I would be on a morning string, have a few days off, then be on an evening string, have a few days off, then a mids string, followed by a few days off, rinse repeat. I am telling you this because it does alter the times I post. Thankfully I can typically post from work when things are slow.
Looking forward to adventuring with you guys.
Eloisa Rathswing
Thank you for choosing me. I'm excited to play with you all.
A little about me. I live in the Seattle metro area. I'm in my early 40's my husband and I have no children. I work days so my posts are done mostly in the evenings unless it's really slow at work or Wednesdays when I work at home.
Annika Watches Sky
I live in Vancouver, Canada. I just turned 30 a few days ago (aaaaaaaaaah). I have no kids and currently no job. I might go back to school to become a pharmacy technician at some point.

Ok, so I reread my post after Father Zantus entered the room. It reads a little more creepy then intended I think. The intention was awkward not creepy.
That is all.
Selaros Teskarova
Well have fun Asa :)
Eloisa Rathswing
I'm good to move forward.
Selaros Teskarova
Ready to move forward, not that I have anything to go and buy anyway.
Think we've lost count of "loot" and skipped loot those times we have fast forwarded when you disappeared and after you return again GM Wasted
It might not be much but I don't really know if we have gone by some useful consumables up untill this point.
Rast Cobble

At this point I have what I need and can move forward.
Asa Norowareta
Asa will likely leave most of her equipment in her room, but will take her falcata, her neck guard, one of the sacks from her dungeoneering kit (as well as one length of silk rope), her ink and pen, and her spellbook.
Selaros Teskarova
To the new players: I just realized I never got around to ask what position you plan to take in combats.
Is it only Asa who primarily will step into melee or do any of you other casters also plan to do some thing in melee?
I ask because I designed my vigilante to go for a throwing build, but back then we had a lot of melees, so I wanted to find out if I needed to make him more of a melee then thrower with you new players.
Original idea was to use the startoss style chain to add alot of damage to throwing and melee when they get close to me if I read the feat right.
Asa Norowareta
As foolish as it might look, Asa will be right up at the front with her falcata in her primary hand and the occasional acid splash in the other. That said, even with her bonuses to AC from the archetype (1 point of INT bonus per level to AC in addition to DEX is nothing to sneeze at when your INT is 18...) but between her low HP and unusual reaction to healing (negative energy is good, positive energy is bad) she will probably try not to stay in the heart of combat for longer than necessary.
Rast Cobble
|
I see Rast as being a bit rough and tumble maybe even with the possibility of suppressed rage from his upbringing coming out at times along with healing so he will get up in there.
I also anticipate him getting into more robust armor at some point.
Selaros Teskarova
Ok, I was just curious if I should focus on the glaive or starknife :)
Eloisa Rathswing
Eloisa is a caster, but she' plans to more of a buffer/summoner than a blaster. That being said I have a few missiles available to me if needed.
Who would like my enlarge person spell when the time comes?
