Something is afoot in Varisia. There have been a series of odd murders in a small town on the west coast called Sand Point and more recently the capital Magnimar, where even the lord-mayor was a target. A cult of serial murderers called the Skinsaw Men was uncovered and stopped. We have also received reports of more activity along the border.

I would like you to go see the lord-mayor of Magnimar. Assure him the Pathfinder society will do what we can to help him. Investigate these goings on and see if there is a common thread to all this unrest. We have a lot of interests in Varisia and would like to maintain the good graces of the government. I doubt the lord mayor will have you sitting around for long. It is a big place and inevitably something will need attention.

So how does that sound? A mission without a precise goal and with no guarantee of coin. Ha! Are you up for it?

How tall are the ceilings? I will Airwalk up high and provide arial assault. Tanks up front if they are so inclined, is Lumpy back under Sekkim's control? I would put him up in front of the tanks if so. If Cela is still an Elemental, have her do her thing. Buchart should we throw out Sunrods?

I currently have (combat-wise) Beast Shape II, Black Tentacles, Create Pit, Gaseous Form, 2 Hastes, Levitate, and Web. Who is this guy? What do we know about him?

If it is just the one, Haste might be best.

What?

Plenty of people in this world die. Have died, in fact, in front of us. The only reason you want to raise this particular individual is that he's a leader. But... he's not a very good leader. His fort got caught off guard by an influx of ogres while he was off in the woods diddling faeries. If our employers, his superior officers, or Flappy the Crazy Faerie Lady want to raise him, that's fine. I'll help. But I'm not interested in going out of pocket for this guy.

The raise dead would only destroy him, not actually raise him. The body might not be as decrepit after. We told her we would. We should also send word to Magnimar that we need a very talented bard.


Can Sekkim get back control of Lumpy?


He can, but would need to cast control undead - lumpy gets no save because he is mindless.

He doesn't have it memorized, but it is in Barl's spell book. If cast from the spell book it is gone and would need to buy if wanted.

Sekkimm Knows Raise Dead details
A creature who has been turned into an undead creature or killed by a death effect can't be raised by this spell. Constructs, elementals, outsiders, and undead creatures can't be raised. The spell cannot bring back a creature that has died of old age.

Was researching how to deal with Anaba's negative level adjustment - "Nothing happens to the character's XP total. The character's actual level doesn't change; they just have a permanent debilitating condition. In other words, negative levels give you a lot of penalties but they don't actually reduce your character level."
The penalty is -5 to hitpoints and -1 to all attacks and saves until a restoration spell can be cast (will need to do that in Magnimar because it is a high level Cleric Spell) Cost =1280gp per level

Searching him you find + 1 chain shirt, + 1 icy burst composite longbow with 20 arrows. You find nothing else in the room.

Going back and searching more carefully you have taken control of the clan hold and are confident the ogres are sealed in the mines (they may have other entrances, who knows??). Regardless the Clan hold leadership is decimated. Your mission in the mountains appears to be completed. Except for returning the Commander's remains to Myriana.

Searching in more detail...

Lucrecia has a magical tattoo that looks like a Sihedron rune-tattooed on her left breast. Carefully inspecting it Sekkimm and Buchart discover it grants her (or used to) the ability to enhance a 3rd-level or lower spell she casts with Still Spell and Silent Spell. She can do this once per day as a swift action. With this knowledge you could now get a magical tattoo as well.

Lucrecia also carries a single scroll in a small scroll tube on which she has listed every citizen of Turtleback Ferry who received a Sihedron tattoo from her as "favorite customers of Paradise." Kaven's name is on this list with a circle around it. The list itself bears only this intriguing header: "Those who have agreed to grant their greed to the master's need."

You have over 1000lbs of treasure to transport down the mountain. Cela (and perhaps Sekkimm) can transform into Giant Bird(s) and transport all of this in several trips quickly to Fort Rannick. Then take all of you and your new pet turtle as well (She has more than 5 hours of shape change left).

However you want to manage you find no resistance getting yourselves and all your treasures back to Fort Rannick.

Jakardros and Vale are eager to find out what happened to their commander. They are stoic in their mourning. They hold a formal ceremony for the commander and Jakardros is voted as the Fort Rannick's new commander. Jakardros tells you "Although it is not how we normally deal with our dead commander's please take his remains to Myriana." With the fort secure He plans to keep an outpost on the dam and will lead patrols around the Hook to kill or drive out any remaining Kreegs running wild. Keeping a look out for your two missing Hags as well. He will have all your loot crated and shipped to Turtleback Ferry. He thanks you for your work. "The Hook has never been safer thanks to you."

After a day of rest - Sekkimm can try to dispel Fernleaf's Turtle affliction.
