Pfizer. Other than the fatigue, I was fine, so it could've been worse. Still better than covid lol
GM Fuzzfoot |
My second shot of Moderna gave me a sore arm for 3 days, and a little worn out on the second day, but that was about it. My wife had no ill effects and the kids were a bit tired the next day, but otherwise we all got pretty lucky.
Reynard Freeman |
Yeah, sore arm's about all I've had. I had a buddy who was trying to run Rime of the Frost Maiden for his brother's bachelor's party on the day he got his second Moderna and it was pretty bad; he was alternating between grabbing every blanket in the apartment for chills, then throwing them off when he'd get hot flashes, etc.
GM Fuzzfoot |
That was a battle that certainly didn't scale well. That creature should have just wiped the floor with you, but action economy for her was really bad - she had so many nasty surprises, but just couldn't use more than one at a time.
Good job keeping up the pressure.
GM Fuzzfoot |
OK, before moving to Book 3, let's cleanup your loot and sell off whatever you don't want.
You should also level up. I believe everyone is level 5, so now you are level 6.
The AP expects you to be level 7 by now, almost 8, but it also only expects 4 of you. So I think we will stay at 6 for now, but I will also need to try adjusting the encounters up, because you all are really just barely challenged. I found someone who has notes on adjustments, so I am going to reference those. I am just giving you a heads up, though, because I think scaling is an art, and I am not well versed at it. So feel free to let me know if you feel like you are under or over challenged.
Faywen Marisal |
Woo, level 6! I'll be taking the Waterdancer utility talent, which is basically a permanent slipstream. Going uphill, it does nothing, but on level ground my speed increases 10 feet, and going downhill it's increased by 20 feet. Underwater, my swim speed increases by 20 to a total of 50.
My Elemental Overflow feature also gets bumped up, so I now get a +2 to attack and +4 to damage with my blasts, and a +2 size bonus to two physical ability scores (Dex and Con, if anyone was wondering).
Edit: i now have 69 hp
And now I can do (3d6+17)*1.5 damage. Bwahahahahah!
Reynard Freeman |
GM< I want to be sure you and I are on he same page for these two mutagen-modifying discoveries:
Feral mutagen (Advanced Player's Guide pg. 30): Whenever the alchemist imbibes a mutagen, he gains two claw attacks and a bite attack. These are primary attacks and are made using the alchemist's full base attack bonus. The claw attacks deal 1d6 points of damage (1d4 if the alchemist is Small) and the bite attack deals 1d8 points of damage (1d6 if the alchemist is Small). While the mutagen is in effect, the alchemist gains a +2 competence bonus on Intimidate skill checks.
Bone-Spike Mutagen (Su) (Antihero's Handbook pg. 29): When the alchemist imbibes a mutagen, he mutates his skeletal structure, causing the bones on his elbows, knuckles, spine, and shoulder blades to grow massive and pierce his skin, exposing themselves as large spikes. While the mutagen is in effect, the alchemist’s natural armor bonus granted by the mutagen increases by 2. The spikes count as masterwork armor spikes with which the alchemist is proficient. An alchemist must be at least 6th level before selecting this discovery.
I don't see anything in either that suggests they wouldn't stack. But I want to make sure you are on the same page before I come in with a bite, two claws and armor spikes. I took feral at 2, taking bone-spike this level, if you're good with that.
Faywen Marisal |
I completely goofed up on my HP calculation.
1d8 ⇒ 5
74 HP instead.
Skarn Hornfels |
For some reason, Skarn has max HP? Is that not how we're doing it?
We're using the Feat Tax Alterations too? I missed that, and had selected Power Attack, but now I realize I should get that for "free" under those rules, Combat Expertise also, which could open up some other Feats for me.
GM Fuzzfoot |
@Reynard - Sure, I think those stack nicely, Mr. Hyde.
@Skarn - between multiple recruitments and merging two groups, I suspect there are some variations on character creation. But I have no problem with you adjusting for the Feat Tax rules now. HP should be Max for level 1 only, and then 1/2+1 or roll, your choice but once you pick, stay the course. (Obviously, I am not monitoring this last part, so it is an honor system).
Trox Ragmend |
HP: 1d10 ⇒ 9
Well hard to beat that one. Trox is bulking up!
René Treize |
I'm in for the next book and will level up this weekend.
Skarn Hornfels |
I believe Skarn has been leveled, and thank the Drunken Hero, that there is a Hero Lab mod to account for the feat tax changes. I had it loaded already, so I just needed to turn it on for Skarn.
Faywen Marisal |
That is a lot of stuff. I'd like the snakeskin tunic, cause a non-belt boost to dexterity is pretty nice
Reynard Freeman |
@Reynard - Sure, I think those stack nicely, Mr. Hyde.
What? I haven't even started taking Master Chymist levels yet. Muwhahahaha!
René Treize |
Ok, René is all leveled up. New spells in my spellbook are Hollow Blades, Fly, Prayer (patron spell), Glitterdust (favored class, human). I also picked up the Healing Hex.
I do not particularly want anything from the loot list.
Cordwin Ironbeard |
Bard 6
HP +5
Diplomacy +1
Perception +1
Use Magic Device +1
Linguistics (Infernal) +1
Disable Device +1
Knowledge (Arcana) +1
Knowledge (Dungeoneering) +1
Knowledge (Engineering) +1
Knowledge (Geography) +1
Spell: Tongues
GM Fuzzfoot |
OK, how we doing - anyone need more time leveling? Has everyone claimed what they want from loot sheet?
Skarn Hornfels |
I went ahead and claimed the Elven Cloak and the Ring of Jumping for Skarn as no one else had taken them, and I have open slots.
On second thought, the ring doesn't stack with my boots anyways, so just the cloak for me!
Druamin |
One of our front liners should take the potion of bull's strength and then we should also pass out the CMW potions. Having those on hand can be quite helpful during a fight.
I'll take one of the CMW potions so that leaves 3 for others.
From the Cash & Outlay tab it looks like we have 60k gp in the party. That seems like a lot and we should be able to do something with it.
GM Fuzzfoot |
And you should while you are still in a city - Turtleback Ferry won't know what to do with 60k gold added to their economy...
Druamin |
Could I buy +1 light fortification lamellar armor? I believe it is 4250gp.
GM, is that available?
Party, is that ok (with part of the group funds)?
GM Fuzzfoot |
Sure - i think you can find that in Magnimar.
Skarn Hornfels |
Perhaps we could buy the whole of Turtleback Ferry with that money!
Group funds? How about we split that money up and let people gear up?
Skarn could use some AC bonuses, although maybe thinking about putting creeping on my armor too. Having decent stealth could be fun as an inquisitor.
GM Fuzzfoot |
I cleaned up the sheet and distributed 7825 in gold to each of you.
So Druamin, you have plenty for your armor. I have updated the loot list accordingly.
Reynard (and anyone else) - you can trade in your existing armor at full price (rather than 1/2) if you are upgrading to something better. Same for weapons if they are the same weapon group.
Druamin |
Splitting up the gp sounds good to me. I also sold my old lamellar armor (60 gp full price).
After selling my old armor and the 220 gp I already had I still have enough left to buy a bag of holding I for 2500 gp. I assume that is also available.
Druamin |
Ok. I'm all leveled up and have all the new gear that I want at the moment. Also have 1360gp that I'm saving up for upgrading my axe in the future.
My profile here is updated.
GM Fuzzfoot |
No concerns here. I did only have you having 502 gold prior to this, but I am just going to give you the benefit of the doubt here and assume I missed something. Loot sheet updated for you.
Faywen Marisal |
I'll upgrade my cloak of resistance to +3 (5000 gp) and my armor to +2 (3000 gp) for a total of 8,000. That leaves me with 1,785 gp.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Ok for the cloak - which armor are you enhancing? The snakeskin tunic is not armor (although it does confer a +1 armor bonus), so it won't be upgradable quite the same as armor would be (in fact, I can't really find any rule to allow it). I will let you do it, but I would treat this more as a +2 -> +3 cost difference - meaning 5000 rather than 3000. Even this is probably a little light, considering upgrading your ring or your amulet would be +6000.
Fair enough?
Trox Ragmend |
Carzy week so far. I will get to the level up soon. No shopping at this point I think.
René Treize |
I believe I had about 2721 going in (+ some some silver/copper) + 7825 = 10,546 gp. I will purchase the following:
- Handy Haversack 2k
- Fate's Shears 3.6k
- Cracked Dusty Rose Prism 500 gp (+1 init)
This should leave me with about 4,446 gp
Faywen Marisal |
My mithral chain shirt, sorry about not making that clear.
Erond Niroden |
Prior remaining 1281+7825 = 9106
Spending 9000 on Tree Reasons to Live.
BAB +1
All Saves +1
Extra spell 2 and 3
Skills: perception, spellcraft, planes, religion. BG: geography, history.
Aerial evasion (Ex): At 6th level, you gain the evasion ability (as a rogue) when you are flying. At 12th level, you gain improved evasion while flying.
Current inspire courage.
Inspire Courage: +5 to attack and to +5 damage a +5 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects.
+2 bonus on saves against spells and effects that deal sonic damage, are language-dependent, or must be heard to be effective
GM Fuzzfoot |
Noted, Erond. I have you has having a lot more cash, though - can you compare the loot list to your notes - maybe I don't have all your gear on there.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Ok, folks - this is a good place to take a break. I am going to be out of pocket for the next 15 days. I might check in on games during that, but GM wise I won't have access to most of my materials, so I am just going to wait until Jun 10 to really resume posting. Feel free to find a small tavern/inn and continue to roleplay if you like. There isn't too much to do here in Turtleback Ferry.
