Hey - if people don't want to do anything, or have announced actions previously, can you still please put a little post in the gameplay so I know? Even a Hargran does nothing this round means I know people have seen it.
I'll be interstate for the next few days, hoping it is not going to interfere though.

I'm staying a little quiet because I pre-posted three rounds of action.

Guys, I apologize but I feel I should probably take a break from PbP for a bit. I just wound up leaving a Campaign I had a great deal of time & enjoyment invested in because what I felt was a simple miscommunication snowballed rapidly & to be painfully honest, I can't tell if I was over-reacting or took too long to make the break.
I'm going to take about a week off, Harakani DM, please go ahead & 'bot' me if needful.

You haven't lost me...I apologize for not being around. The freelance schedule has picked up (big announcement soon!), and the day job and family situation are just a constant beatdwon right now.
But I think the campaign idea is fun, and even if Caillus sucks right now, he will be the bomb later. So I will catch right up and get kraken.

Arioch Bellimarius |

Nor have you lost me.
After the fact, I realized a further contributing factor was that last week was finals week for my accelerated college class. I have three five-week classes, of which one just finished, so I believe that in the interests of not having another episode like this past week, I will likely be taking another hiatus when my next final comes up in about a month.
Yes, I'm back.

The Master in Grey |

I'm a total moron.
I just figured out why I didn't bother buying a ton of Onyx. When I made Grey to submit to the game, I'd just learned about the spell Blood Money.
Grey has it. He even has scrolls of it so he doen't have to waste preparation slots.
I'd just forgotten about it by the time I actually started making undead. THis whole time I've been kicking myself and going "why did I only have a few hundred onyx?"
So with that revelation, I can use one casting of Animate Dead (lesser), to make three wasps.
The first one is free from False Focus. The other two cost me 1d6+1 damage, and one point of strength damage.
I'm going to move the Skeleton Archers and the Warrior to my Channeling Pool (by commanding them not to resist the effect, and then using Command Undead)
Then I'm going to raise 18 HD worth of wasps (6 of them).
That will take me 3 castings of Blood Money (3d6+3 damage, and 3 strength damage) and 3 castings of Animate Dead (1 prepared and 2 scrolls)
My command "pools" are now:
Animate Dead Pool 18/36: six 3HD wasps
Channel Pool 8/9: three 2HD skeleton archers, one 2HD skeleton
Damage: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1, 1) + 3 = 8

The Master in Grey |

Oh jeeze. Lesser Animate Dead makes them one at a time. What a worthless spell. 7th level can't come fast enough...
I have two scrolls of Animate Dead. Looks like I'm using them.
I might as well add Templates then. Looks like they're all Fast Zombies, which brings my HD pool to the full 36/36 HD.
Luckily the added effective HD isn't enough to increase the component cost to the point where it will do more damage.
2 scrolls of Animate Dead, 2 scrolls of Blood Money and one daily use of Channel Energy have been deducted.

Zombees! |

Stats are done. Anyone who wants to double check me, please do.
I just found out that Fast Zombies don't count as Double HD. They just require me to cast Haste while raising them.
I only have Haste memorized once and I'd prefer not to use another scroll. Does anyone have a Haste spell they'd be willing to donate to the cause?

I don't have haste memorized, but I could use one of the raise dead and bloodmoney scrolls.

I don't have anymore scrolls of Animate Dead, but I have a couple Lesser Animate Dead scrolls. Each one will make one normal medium sized skeleton or zombie.
Each caster has their own "control pool" so anyone who wants their own undead pretty much just has to give me the cash to cover the cost of making the scroll (187 gp)

Not as useful just yet. A skeletal bee would just be sad.

Zombees! |

Zom-bees are actually pretty good, as far as Zombies go. They fly and have a good AC for their CR, and because their poison is a Extraordinary ability that enhances an attack, they get to keep it (though the DC does drop because Bees don't have great charisma). Also, because they can fly, they can almost always charge, which makes their "staggered" quality less impactful.

The DM seems to be warning us not to be stupid. Perhaps we should come back with reinforcements and/or better spells. In the mean while we can send a scout.

Sorry - not saying you can't do it, just saying be smart. Prepared casters (and you have a bunch) are most useful when played to a plan.
The idea of burning down the tree was brilliant; there's a few roadblocks, but if you can clear them it is a great idea. Sorry if those roadblocks looked like GM saying "No".

Which if course, goes a ways toward explaining why the bard was more in favor of a direct assault. We do it today, he has the spells he has, we do it tomorrow...
He still has the spells he has.
The Master in Grey |

We should do a quick search and try to find the other entrances. There is probably one at the top of the tree, and maybe an escape tunnel somewhere.
Does anyone have Speak With Dead or Speak With Animals prepared?

Simon Demarkus |

a bunch of giant zombie bees.
they're a little big to qualify as a swarm
I meant enemy bees, not yours.

The Master in Grey |

Grey: colours mean no numbers :(
Sure you can. There's a button for Text Color right next to Fill Color. You can play with that to find a color that will show up against a colored background.
(I use google docs for my game maps too. I've learned a lot of tricks)
