Sorry, but I'm going to be withdrawing interest. I'm having trouble getting into the character and the school of Abjuration as a whole.
likrin, that said "25 minus RP". So if you spent twenty RP, you would have a very small point buy indeed. Large by itself will leave you at 18 for your point buy, so you probably don't want much more than that.

There's been a number of applicants and withdrawals. To confirm: these are the applications on my spreadsheet right now.
This includes expressions of interest and a player who PM'd me.
If there is a ?? symbol then I have something I am unsure of for your PC.
Note that it is possible I have missed the information - so please be sure to tell me if so.

Seems there isn't much love for Abjuration.
I know the school is considered weak, so if people want to suggest something I am prepared to consider.
@Peanuts
You make a good point.
What ways are in the rules at the moment to wield a polearm one-handed? Titan Mauler, shrunk weapon, Alchemist extra-arm, Quarterstaff Master, Phalanx Fighter level 3.
Am I missing anything?
So possibly a Feat to let you wield it one handed could be designed, if is critical. What do you suggest?

It's certainly a play style preference, but I think if a player enjoys chess, he or she would enjoy playing an abjurer.
Personally, I've never a played a caster more loved by the party than an abjurer. Protection from evil, all the various resist energy spells, dispel magic, stoneskin ... the school is chock full of spells everyone in the party will appreciate you casting and the school has at least one really excellent spell available at each spell level - just in the CRB.
You can grant nearby allies a deflection bonus right out of the gate with your school power, and at lower levels that little bump can make a dramatic difference.
So your level 1 school ability is super party-friendly, your bonus spell slots for your school specialization are party-friendly, and you can still drop big, classic hammers like fireball or hold person if you want or need to.
Plus, there's something really satisfying when you cast a defensively-oriented spell and it works like a dream. Like if you pop protection from evil on the fighter thereby suppressing the charm effect he failed a save against. Not only does the fighter love you, everyone else in the group loves you because the fighter isn't swinging his sword at them any more.
It takes some planning and forethought with your spell selection, sure, but abjurers can have an answer for almost any other spell your group might run into.

Given his associated rune I think the shrinking weapon might work. Maybe make it so that any round in which he wants to use spell combat his weapon shrinks a size. Actually it'd be pretty awesome if he could shrink and grow it at will, like Monkey's staff from Journey to the West (at least in the version I used to watch on saturday morning TV. He used to keep it in his ear). Not entirely sure how you'd balance it though (especially if he could shrink and grow it that much). You could make it use his pool, but he already has a reduced pool thanks to bladebound... Oh! Make it a special magus arcana replacing his 6th level arcana and/or make it a limited number of times per day. Equivalent to a feat so I think this could work, and I'll just have to wait another level until he can use it and Spell Combat.
As to Abjurers I wouldn't mind one but I wanted to play something other than yet another wizard :since you've already got 3. So I figured some diversity was in order, hence the magus who have a grand total of 13 Abjuration spells available to them over their whole career. I'd certainly enjoy less competition for a spot :p

My apologies; the three Virtues available are
Temperance
Zeal
Humility
While the Runelords may well fall to Vice later (as did their predecessor) at this stage they still embody the Seven Virtues of Rule.
I think this should have been made clearer.
I don't think this is a problem for the existing character submissions, and I can certainly see why someone might be tempted by a Virtue's Vice.
Additionally I have decoupled the Virtues from the associated Runes. Would be good to have them match or at least for a good argument to be made, but was a little too limiting.
Thus one could play a Temperate Illusion character (for example) or a Zelaous Abjurer.

Man, I loved that show. Seems reasonable. Sure- Magus Arcana that lets you shrink a weapon (with normal penalties)
I think it really says something about the Schools that there are three transmuters, two illusionsists and no abjurationists in the applications.
Yeah it was great. They used to play 2-3 episodes in a row every weekend, it was awesome.
Ahh, I'd forgotten about size penalties, so a net -4 since Spell Combat already gives -2 to hit...
