GM RelicBlackOUT |
Scarlet You search the two fallen goblins close by and you find two sets of the following, all in small size: leather armor, light wooden shield, short sword, short bow with 18&20 arrows
As you approach, you notice a second path from the West connects to this road. It is a smaller road but still well traveled. You have seen people pass you from both directions, but never a merchant cart like this. It is safe to assume they came from that road.
As you approach, the figure checking the bodies looks up and removes the hood of their cloak. As they does it reveals a female halfling.
“Thanks be to Desna! I don’t know where we would be had you not come along. I’m Sten, Sten Goodseller. I am a merchant from Barrow’s Edge.” Looking down at the fallen men. “Please can do anything for my guards?”
Dalron and Lanliss approach to check on the two fallen guards. You move them to check to see if they are still alive. They are! Both are elven males. With Dalrons healing aid, and Lanliss’s channel, you are able to revive them. Both are still shaken from the ordeal.
Sten rushes forward to see what is happening, reaches up and places a hand on Lanliss’s back and says; “Thank you so much, we would have been dead had it not been for you travelers.” Looking around at the party she continues; “So what brings you out this way so close to Barrow’s Edge? I haven’t seen many travelers on the road back home.”
Sten, not ignoring the group she is looking between the party, the woods, and his cart.
“You say you’re heading to Barrow’s Edge? Fine town and all, I call it my home, but what brings you this way?”
Lanliss Endarro |

"Not at all! We would be the lowliest of cads had we not rendered aid as we were passing by! We're headed out to Barrow's Edge to dispatch more goblins, coincidentally. I love coincidences!
"You keep looking around. Are you expecting more trouble?" Lanliss notches an arrow and also scans the area.

Brunner stays close enough that when Lanlis channels his leg is healed, Thanks Torag, and I guess your little buddy Desna too. You always find ways to provide.' Smiling he nods to Lnalis, "Ye hae mah cheers an aw laddie."
Studying the Halfling merchant for a moment, he looks towards the woods and then the crossroads, "Fear nae, we ur travelin' tae Barrows Edge tae deal wi' a gobo infestation thaur. We will travel wi' ye. If ye dornt min'."

"I will take a quick look around to make sure these were the only three in the area"
Dlaron readies an arrow and begins to look for tracks in the area

Scarlet looks over the female Halfling from a distance, sensing her unease he looks toward the woods for a moment but goes back to keeping an eye on her. Finding he doesn't trust her for his innate reasons.
He does notice she is eyeing her wagon and decides to go investigate her wagon. Seeing what she was trading in.

GM RelicBlackOUT |
Looking puzzled, Sten looks at the party; “dispatch goblins in Barrow’s Edge? Hummm, I know there are some goblins around but never enough that would need a call for aid. But then again it has been a few months since I left Barrow’s Edge...”
Her ears perk up when Brunner says a familiar name. Arvel? How a dwarf living in the middle of nowhere get a party to come for aid? I mean he does have some coin, but I never though he would spend it. Did he send for aid?”
] turning back towards Lanliss. “Oh, I suppose I didn’t expect trouble in the first place. But if goblins are about maybe we should get going to Barrow’s Edge? What do you say, if you give me a help with my cart, I will give you a lift to town. It’s just about a day away by wagon... Oh shoot, there goes my horses...” Sten takes off after her horses.
Dalron Northfield |
With his right knee on the ground inspecting the tracks Dalron looks around.
This is not good, we need to get to that town quickly
Dalron heads back to the the wagon.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 To see if he see the horses running and if he is close enough to try and stop them
Lanliss Endarro |
After the horses are gathered, Lanliss shows Sten his letter from "M. Marchess."
"Do you know who this is?"
Brunner Hammerfell |
Shrugging his shoulders, Brunner answers, "Arvel kent Ah was in thes travelin' bain, perchance he tauld thes M. Marchess tae contact us. Either way, waur headed th' sam direction, we main an aw travel together."
Then he move over to the cart to help and notices Scarlet 'inspecting' her goods, 'I know the boys reformed, but we don't want people to get the wrong idea.' he calls out, "Scarlit laddie, while yer haur, coods ye help me wi' th' cart?"
Evia Cloy |
Standing in the rain Evia says, "Yes, let's help these people with the cart! Ready everyone. Heave Ho!"

Dalron makes his way back out from the woods and sees Sten roaming around collecting her horses. It takes a little bit of time but the the two of you gather the three remaining live horses.
As Sten and Dalron approach the group, the remaining group are struggling to get the wagon back on all four wheel. Everyone gets their back into it and the wagon is upright.
Looking at Lanliss’s note, Sten says; “M. Marchless... Oh that is Mallie, lovely woman. Her and her husband own and operate the Barrow’s Edge Tavern & Inn. That does make sense, what she says is basically taken as law.”
Moving towards the goods scattered across the ground Sten says; “Well, how about you help me get these goods back into the cart. I’m sure if we get things back in order we would have room for my guards to rest and for you all to sit on the edge. Unless you would like to walk?”
Sten starts to get things back onto the cart. “I would be dead had you all not come along, I run a simple merchant shop but I will give you each some store credit. Once we get to town and you all find out what you need to do you should come by my shop.”
Each of you will receive 100gp worth of store credit.
Dalron Northfield |
Dalron reaches down and picks up some of the goods and place them in the cart.
"Master Sten, has Barrow's Edge had goblin issues before. Or is this something new?"
"let me help you with that Barnabus.
Taking a quick glance at the woods, remembering the large amount of gobin tracks in the area.
Dalron gets a little anxious to get moving again.
Scarlet Blood |
Scarlet goes about helping with the scattered goods. "Riding would be good. I imagine the road will be real muddy. Prefer not to have to spend so much time scraping the mud out of my boots."
"Once we are riding to Barrow's Edge, um... Sten can inform us more about the place."
Evia Cloy |
Evia wraps her cloak more about her more. "Yes, I think getting out of this rain would be beneficial. My hair can't be more soaked than it already is!"
She helps load the remaining goods in the cart and prepares to hop in to leave.
Brunner Hammerfell |
"It was uir pleasure miss, nae cheers is necessary. But thenk ye." Smiling and nodding at the pleasant Halfling as he aids in picking up the goods.
He smiles and pulls the hood of his cloak up a little tighter, "Ah dunnae kinn whit ye laddies ur fussin' abit it's a bonnie day. but Ah ride oan th' wagon woods certainly help mah bunions." Once the items are picked up he smile as he takes a seat on the back of the wagon.
Dalron Northfield |
As everyone gets settled for a ride on the cart, Dalron walks to the front of the horses.
"I will take point, you two" pointing at the Sten's two guards "get on each side of the wagon and keep an eye out on the sides and back, lets move out!"
Dalron hooks his magic torch to his belt to light the way and walks about 15 to 20 feet ahead on the road. Then stops too make sure the wagon is fallowing. He keeps that distance while peering into the woods for trouble with an arrow nocked on his bow.
I hope I am on the right road. I am sure Sten will say something if I take a wrong turn, I hope
GM RelicBlackOUT |
Once everything is packed up everyone who wants a ride jumps onboard. Sten climbs up on the front seat and pats it. “If you’d like miss.... you know, I never did catch your names. Young dear, why don’t you climb up here and sit next to me. No need for a lady to get cramped in the back with the men.”
You all take off down the road, once things get rolling to a proper speed Sten hollers out to Dalron. “You know, we haven’t had any issues with goblins. Kind of like I said before, we knew there were goblins around but never had any problems. Once we get to town I will introduce you to thee leaders and we can both find out about this call for help. I’m rather eager to learn why the goblins have turned so violent. This road used to be safe, let me tell you.”
An hour passes an you hear a low tone, those who have heard them know the sound of a war horn. You look in the direction that it is coming from. Walking out of the dense woods in a wild looking goblin. He holds a spear in one hand, while the other burns with a bright flame. A mangy wolf runs at his side. As your eyes focus you notice four goblins, who have all just released arrows from their bows.

Lanliss’s arrow strikes true on the goblin wielding fire, but it is still standing. It reaching down to its side and grabs something. You see a beacon of light flash for just a moment. It climbs upon the wolf and they charge your direction advancing 50 ft.
