Wow, that is pretty cool.

It's a digital world, and I'm a digital girl, I mean man. I'm going to fully recommend that all my players with tablets get this program when it is finished. I hope you'll come back on the forums when it is ready for sale and drop a line letting us know it's ready.
Looks great!
We'll definitely post something back to this thread. Right now we're finishing up the final code and feedback from playtesters, so the hope is sometime within the next month. :)

I will definitely purchase this. Any updates since this preview? Has a specific date been released?
Thanks for the interest!
Right now we're working through some fixes/updates from playtest feedback, and the last step in the project is to create the export process -- which is actually the most time consuming part of the project. We're still shooting for mid-October-ish, and prior to release we'll be posting back to this thread. In the meantime ... spread the word!

Compatible in which way? You do understand that while Pathfinder is kinda sorta compatible, that there are significant differences in a character sheet that would fit with it? (Consolidation and rename of certain Skills would be the least of it.)
Disclosure: can't see YouTube at work.

What? Showing up to the table with 6 lbs of dice will no longer be intimidating because my fellow gamers will show up with just their iPads.
They mystique of having a d7 and a d14 will soon wear off.
Aaaarrrrgggghhhh, the humanity.
BTW, I like the idea and would definitely get a Pathfinder-enhanced version.
Kevin Melka |
Thanks for all the positive feedback folks!
We are in the final stages of this product. All that is left is platform testing and a final beating by the playtesters. Look for a release very soon. In the meantime, here is a link to an example of an exported version of this sheet:

I see that the Deity and Class/Level fields are flip flopped. Was this just a typo or a small bug currently present? Looks pretty fantastic overall!
EDIT: Spelling and Grammar!
Known bug ... :)
Thanks!!!

Just a quick update to say this product is very near release: the Windows version is poised to be posted on RPGNow/DriveThruRPG, and just needs a bit more testing. The Mac/iPad versions will be available soon, but the App Store submission process takes longer than releasing a product via RPGNow.
The Class/Deity bug on the HTML output is now fixed, and the dice are rolling...
In reply to the d20/PFRPG question, this product switches skill names and skill calculations when a character is switched between pure d20 and PFRPG. It also has a permanent area for Combat Maneuvers.
Watch this space!

Hate to ask the rude question, but how much would this cost?
I think it will be priced at $3.99, in common with the other iCharacter Sheet products. That price is for a single user on a single platform*.
Hope that helps
Stuart
*For iOS/Mac, this is a single App Store purchase, which can usually be installed on multiple devices tied to the same App Store account (multiple Macs or Multiple iPads, not a mixture of both). For Windows, this is a single install which uses an activation key system. Windows installs are machine-specific and are only available to one user on that machine.

Sounds fair enough to me. Though I suppose I'll wait till I upgrade computers (or get a laptop, not sure yet) first quarter 2012.

Looks great. Very intuitive and simple to use. LOVE that you can click on certain stats and get a roll that incorporates the modifiers of that stat. And thanks so much for making it Mac/iPad compatible.
Question 1: I see that you can add formulas to the die roller. Can I save them? So, for example, can I have a list of different attacks: long sword w/ power attack, long sword w/ sneak attack, long sword w/ power attack and sneak attack, so I don't have to retype them each time? Or iterative 1 primary, iterative 1, off-hand, iterative 2 primary, etc. Also, I tend to roll hit and damage at the same time to save time. Is there any way to roll two formula at the same time, say different color dice? This might also come up with add-on damage, 1d6 + 1d6 cold; is there any way for me to flag one d6 as the "cold d6" in case I have to know that part separate? Again, maybe being able to specify the color of a particular die would do the trick
Question 2: I know this is a character sheet, not necessarily a character builder with all the data for classes, spells, etc. built in (i.e., it's up to me to fill in the lines correctly :) ). Would you ever consider evolving this to a character builder? For example, in your spells example, you show the pop up where I can enter the details of my spells. Would you ever produce an upgrade or companion product so I could pick spells from a list and they'd auto-fill with the details? Magic items would be another thing I'd love to see auto-fill, with their effects automatically distributing throughout the sheet.

Thank you! Being multi-platform has constrained our design choices a bit (like no support for swiping left and right between sheet tabs on the iPad, because there is no equivalent gesture for the PC), but it opens up the audience a bit. Once there is a workable API for Windows to access iCloud, you can expect us to try integrating that too, so your characters will be available on all your devices. Just waiting on the guys from Cupertino to do their stuff...

You can't save formulae in this version. We thought about it, but were running out of screen space, so we'llneed to give it some more thought. It is definately on the forthcoming features list.
It *is* possible to roll dice of two colours, by putting the colour in brackets after the dice formula: 2d6+1d6(blue). It doesn't, however, show the results of each die separately after they've faded from the screen. More for us to think about!

Right now we're not thinking of extending this to be a character builder. That is a whole different board game and requires stacks of effort to keep it current and applicable to all the d20 variants. You can, however, copyand paste text into the app to fill in your spell descriptions etc.
We may add PDF viewer or text versions of OGL rule material, but that is a little way off, and mainly just blue sky at the moment.

FYI for all who were interested ... I do have the final code now, and will begin the (very painful) iOS Apple submission process this week. For the Windows version we typically wait for the iOS version to pass and release in tandum, but if there are issues with the App store (and there always seems to be) I may release soon. Please keep and eye on this thread for more information. :)
Cheers!

Does your character sheet do 3.5 and Pathfinder? Is it easy to toggle between the two systems? (I play in both 3.5 and Pathfinder games and it would be great to use this for both).

Purchased. There seems to be an error when I try to enter in a height on the Pathfinder sheet. It keeps the field hi lighted and doesn't let you enter in any information into it.
Hmm,I got the issue to reprouce once, and had to restart the app (double-tap the iPad Home button, tap and hold the iCS d20 icon and then tap the red 'minus' button). However it didn't seem to reoccur thereafter.
Please would you email support (at) digitaladventures.net and we'll get straight on it?

I cannot duplicate this error by entering data to the field. Were you able to reproduce it more than once? Do you have an iPad 1 or 2?
Sgmendez ... please email us at support at digitaladventures.net with a screen shot of the lockup if possilbe (so we can see what fields have data in them) so we can try to duplicate exactly.
Please let us know if you have any further issues.

Issue identified and fixed (it happened when you tabbed from field to field using the -> and <- keys). Sorry for the small hiccough, we'll upload the fixed version (2.0.1) to iTunes App Store and you should get an automatic update notice on your iPad once we've been back through the submission process.

Yeah, no problem. It wasn't even that big of an issue either. Love the sheet though. I can't wait to start using it for games.

I am not seeing this on the App store. Is it only available for Ipad?
We're working on the MAC submission this week (I hate the MAC submission process). We wanted to work the bugs out of the Windows version first ... which should be posted for sale later this week on RPGNow.
Thanks for the interest!!!

So I looked through the thread, watched the preview video and didn't see this addressed so I'd like to ask a question;
In case of certain feats, abilities, or whatever that allow you to use a non standard ability score for various, such as using your dex mod for attacks with weapon finesse, or use dex for jump instead of str (or wis for acrobatics in case of pathfinder) is it possible for the player to adjust which stat the character sheet pulls from when calculating bonuses?
