The bugbear continues to swing out towards the dwarf in front of him.
DMG: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Frustrated, he takes another step back into the hallway. He is now 10 feet into the hallway on the north side of this guard room. He hunkers down in defense.

'I'm not letting him out of this that easily.' Not willing to let the bugbear leave uncontested, Brunner steps forward, swinging his hammer, attempting to get below the bugbears shield. "Whaur ur ye gonnae fatty? Waur nae dain yit."

GM, I screwed up my HP. I went back and looked, if I count correctly, I have Brunner @ -2. Is that what you show also?

Scarlet Blood |

Scarlet holds his position to guard Brunner's back and to allow easier shots at the defending bugbear from the others.

Evia Cloy |

Evia continues to sing high in the tight confines of the room. She fires a shot into the melee, not expecting it to hit.

Lanliss Endarro |

Lanliss reaches over to lightly touch Dalron on the shoulder and casts true strike on the archer.
Lanliss goes before Dalron in the initiative, so hopefully that can be applied to his above attack. If not, next round is fine. +20 to Dalron's attack roll.

I’ll allow this
Dalron yells out a curse at the bugbear in its language. It drops it shield to look and see who its next victim will be when it says;
Partly into his “victory speech” the bugbear gets an arrow square in his sternum. It starts to struggle to breath. Worry comes across its face. It knows it has met its mortality. With a loud crash, this bugbear comes toppling forward. Brunner, quick on his feet, jumps out of the way of the fallen foe.
Looking beyond where he fell, you see the hallway makes a sharp right turn. It is pitch black down the hall way.
The hallway is 20 long 5 wide and turns right at the end.
We are out of rounds, feel free to do what you want to do. But, be aware of your surroundings.

"Thank you Lanliss with out the guidance form Desna I think I could have missed."
Dalron places his left foot on the bugbears back and fires the last three goblin arrows into it. Then looks around.
"What? Just want to make sure it's dead.
Dalron replaces his arrows in his quiver.

Lanliss Endarro |

Lanliss nods. "I felt we needed to take him down quickly before the brute finally landed a blow. That was my last spell, however, I can still channel a bit more when we need healing."

Brunner Hammerfell |
Stepping aside as the bugbear drops, Brunner nudges the goblinoid with his boot. Nodding to Dalron, "Weel shot laddie."
Winking at Lanliss, "Wi' a wee help frae friends reit."
Hearing their cleric has no more spells he rubs his chin thinking for a moment, "Nae spells, we will need tae be cannie 'en,"
Pointing to the bodies "We need tae deprife th' enemy ay onie usable items these gobos main hae,"
Turning, He nods toward the hallway, "Ah will gang tae th' corner an' watch fur gobos, when waur ready we shood continue." He then walks the twenty foot, carefully looking around the corner He then stands guard, watching for any more attackers, while the party prepares to continue.
in the hallway he will 'take' 10 (11) on perception,

GM RelicBlackOUT |

Brunner goes to the end of the hallway where it makes a right turn. Standing at that point he can look down the hallway as it continues. It goes for another 40 feet before it opens into a wider room or hallway where it Ts off. You don’t see or hear anything beyond that. You can also tell that it is pitch black down that way, but you have darkvision.
With Brunner’s suggestion of checking over the body you will find the following on the bugbear. A Morningstar, a finely crafted leather armor, an exquisite looking light wooden shield, and his javelin that he threw is imbedded into the wall. He also has a small leather pouch with 16 silver pieces within.
Looking around this room you find coins scattered across the floor along with playing cards. It looks like these guards were playing cards before they moved the table to set up a makeshift barricade. You find 10 gold, 5 silver, and 40 copper. If you take the time to double check, you do find a complete deck of cards. Several of the cards are soaked in blood and even if you try to clean them they will still be stained.

Scarlet Blood |

Scarlet almost instantly strips the bugbear of anything of value, especially eyeing the finely crafted leather armor. After cleaning this up, I might replace my armor with this.
He then snatches up the coins in the room and puts it in the sack where he is collecting the coins they have 'liberated' so far.
After the loot gathering {Loot Spreadsheet Updated} Scarlet steps ahead of Brunner slightly to look for traps or other surprises. He activates a Sunrod, holding it in his left hand while his rapier is in his right hand.

Now the dice gods are playing nice again :o)

Lanliss Endarro |

Barnabus or Lanliss can one of you tell if something is magical or not?
This bugbears equipment looks too good for their kind."
Lanliss looks at Barnabus for a moment before replying. "Yes, I imagine that one of us could."
Lanliss stands and watches as Barnabus casts his divination on the equipment before realization dawns on him.
"Oh!"

GM RelicBlackOUT |

Barnabus cast detect magic on the items
Scarlet moves forward with his Sunrod. Checking for traps he doesn’t find anything that stands out. Moving forward he reaching where the hallway opens up at a T. It moves to a 10 foot wide hallway that goes left and right. Looking to his right(south) he sees a caved in hallway. It looks like the side supports gave way and caved in.Looking to his left(north) his light shows an intersection 10 feet away from where he is standing at the edge of the small hallway, beyond the intersection he sees a turn off to the left and right before the hall way ends.
From where Scarlet is standing at the enterence, to the right/south the 10 ft wide hallway ends 10 ft away from him. To the left(north) the hallway is a total of 60 ft long. 10 ft away is an four way intersection of a 10 ft hallway. 15 ft beyond that there is a 10ft opening to the left(west) and 5ft beyond that is a 10ft opening to the right(east) at the very end of the hallway.
Hopefully this is clear, enoughish.

Brunner Hammerfell |
'A fallen shaft, a pity to see even in an abandoned mine.' Following behind Scarlet, Brunner let's out a sigh when he sees the fallen mine to the south, staying close, he asks their burglar, "Keep a keen yak it, gobo's ur ken fur their traps."
if we get to where were rolling for stealth, Brunner will hang back a bit.

GM RelicBlackOUT |

if we get to where were rolling for stealth, Brunner will hang back a bit.
Until someone does anything different, it is my assumption that you all are moving forward as normal.
Scarlet continues to move forward and reaches the 4 way intersection. Looking to his right(East) he sees that 60 feet down the 10 foot wide hallway ends with a set of double doors. The double doors are slightly cracked open, darkness fills the inside.
Scarlet looks down the left(West) path and sees the 10 foot wide hallway continue for 60 feet. Or, at least that is as far as his human eyes will allow him to see with the Sunrod. Looking down this same left(West) path, 50 feet down on the right(north) side of the hallway is an opening, only 5 feet. Catty-corner from that opening(5 foot down) is a 10 foot opening on the left(south) side.
Standing at the 4 way intersection you see a few different things. Down the north end you have two hallways branch off. Down the east end you have a set of double doors and the doors are slightly opened. Down the west end you cannot see all the way, but you do have two opening that branch off of the hallway.

"Brunner I think is the only one who uses a shield. I think he should have it."
" Scarlet, if you want the armor, you can have it unless someone else wants it that is."
Walking down the hallway ready to fire an arrow.

Scarlet Blood |

Scarlet nods, "Agreed. Doors usually mean something." Scarlet heads toward the door that is slightly opens. He covers the Sunrod with his hand to hide as much light as he can as he listens at the door for anything beyond.
If he hears nothing, he will check the door for traps.

"Barnabus you want to throw another light on this one? It worked well in the past for opening doors."
Dalron gets the arrow ready for the door to be opened.
Remember to breathe, bugbears are only big goblins. You can do this, just shoot straight, aim small hit small.

GM RelicBlackOUT |

Scarlet takes the lead down the Right/East hallway at the intersection. This corridor ends in a set of double doors. A crude representation of a hairy faced monster is drawn on the doors, along with a phrase; “Big Bronk’s Room” in poorly written common and goblin. A series of marks score the frame to the right of the door.
Scarlet presses his ear to the partly opened door and hears nothing within. He checks for traps and does not find any traps.
I am going to assume Scarlet enters....
Scarlet pushes open the door, Dalron bow at the ready to fire if anything is within.... and you find a neat and relatively tidy room. This 20x20 room has a large side bed in the south east corner. On the sound and east side are two collapsed hallways. On the north side there is a tool rack that still has two pick axes and a squared nose shovel.
Other than that this room is empty.
Quick check, when we come across rooms does everyone go into each of them no matter what is within? Does anyone stay out in the hallway as a look out? Just need to know for future possibilities.
something: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Lanliss Endarro |

Since he's in the back and has decent(ish) armor, Lanliss will stay outside to keep watch behind the party. If the party engages in battle, that might change, however.
"Maybe the bugbear we just killed is Big Bronk."

Evia Cloy |

Evia would want to go in with the others and can provide healing before Lanliss arrives as well if the party gets into a fight.
Evia follows the others as they check the door and she heads into the room with Scarlet and behind Brunner.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
"Maybe the rest of his cronies are out to lunch?"

Brunner Hammerfell |
I think Brunner would enter the room, if it's one exit he would stay near the door. If there is a second he would go cover it, An open door or hall would take precident over a closed door.

Looking from Dalron to Barnabus as they offer the shield, he holds out his own larger heavy shield, compareing the two. "While 'at shield is quite fancy, it's nae huir uv a big is it? Ah prefer somethin' wi' a wee mair heft tae it. An' besides, aam nae sure 'at min' will wash it."
As Scarlet moves down the hallway, Brunner follows right behind, 'Smart lad, covering the light, he thinks about his surroundings, that may keep him and us alive.'
Now
'Big Bronk’s Room' Well, here we go.' Seeing the writing on the door, Brunner snorts and whispers. "Aam surprised th' bugger is literate, if ye can caa it 'at." Seeing the room is empty, He moves over to the tool rack and collects the picks and shovel, "Nae reason tae lit these gang tae waste. Gezz a moment laddies tae stair these." Setting his hammer and shield down, he quickly takes off his rucksack, tying the tools to the pack. Once he puts his pack and shield back on, he hefts his hammer, smiling, "Oan we gang, yeah."

GM RelicBlackOUT |

Great time to roll a Nat 18 on an int check Brunner
There has been a lot going on and Brunner, having a moment to adjust his pack and check out these tools, realizes something very familiar about this place. The tools are of dwarven craft. The craftsmanship of the halls that you are now in remind you of the dwarven mines you have visited in the past, very similar to Temples of Torag.

Scarlet Blood |

Scarlet would be the type to enter the room with the others that do also.
Realizing the room is empty, Scarlet lowers his guard slightly. He then proceeds to search the room and his nose itches to find anything interesting.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
"Doesn't look like the bugbear or goblins used this room. Maybe something from it's original owner has been left behind."

GM RelicBlackOUT |

The party spends a little bit of time at this end of the hallway. There is nothing beyond this room. Heading back towards the four way intersection, where does Scarlet head next?
Ninja’d by the rogue, quick and sneaky! There is nothing else of interest in this room.

Scarlet Blood |

Scarlet heads down the west hallway, and stops just before the first opening to the right. He carefully peaks beyond it to see what is down the right (north) path.

Brunner Hammerfell |
As Brunner follows Scarlet out the door and to the west, he leans over to Barnabus, and tells him, "Ah realized wa th' mine looks sae familiar when Ah saw th' tools. they ur dwarven gart, thes is an auld dwarven mine! by Torag we main force these gobo's it!"
Staying close behind the burglar, he whispers, "Whit dae ye see laddie?"

GM RelicBlackOUT |

You are back at the four way intersection. You just came from the east, the south leads back to the route out. Looking north, you see two more openings, one on the left, and a little further one on the right. Just beyond that the hall ends.
The hallways are still empty, and dark.

![]() |

Dalron keeps an eye to the back of the party so no one sneaks up from behind.
Caves? why do dwarf's love caves? It's so dark, hard and dirty, I just don't get it.
Elves on the other hand I understand, the tall trees, open sky and a cool creek to put you feet in when it's hot.

Lanliss Endarro |

You are back at the four way intersection. You just came from the east, the south leads back to the route out. Looking north, you see two more openings, one on the left, and a little further one on the right. Just beyond that the hall ends.
The hallways are still empty, and dark.
It sounds like you're referring to the four-way intersection where the red X currently is on the map. However, I believe Scarlet has gone down the hallway west from the X, and has peeked into the north doorway, where I currently have a yellow arrow.

Lanliss Endarro |

"Let's keep an eye out for a defensible room to hole up for the night, if it comes to that. I don't have much healing energy left," Lanliss whispers.

Dalron whispers to Lanliss"We still have a wand don't we for healing? I know we have used it a lot with the room full of goblins, but does it still work or is it burnt out?"
"Besides there is always plan 'B'. 'B' as in run back to the town leaving 'B'arnabus and 'B'runner behind since they can't run as fast."
Dalron gives Lanliss a wink and a big smile.

Lanliss Endarro |

"We don't have to be the fastest, we just have to be faster than the guy next to us," Lanliss quips to Dalron. "Ancient elven wisdom."
"Anyway, Evia has the wand, but I'd hate to deplete it when resting is an option."

Scarlet Blood |

Where the yellow arrow is on Lanliss map is where Scarlet is at and looking to see what is beyond the northern opening.
Looking back, Scarlet whispers. "If I can find enough raw material, I could set up some minor traps if we do decide to rest somewhere."

GM RelicBlackOUT |

In the wisdom of Homer... “D’OH!”
Scarlet scouts ahead down the West hallway. Arriving at the first opening on the north side you see a curtain of many colors that is hanging across the doorway in the corridor.
Scarlet takes a peek inside past the curtain, but not going in. You see a 5x5 corridor that opens up into a small room. 20 wide by 10 deep. Starting left and going around you see a desk with papers, alchemical components in jars and pouches covering it.
Scanning your eyes you see something that catches you off guard because they were stone still. You see an odd Skeleton and Zombie standing straight across from where the corridor enters this room.
You cannot see any further down the room without entering it.
Scarlet if you could, please give me a perception check.
Those who follow also see on the south side just past the curtained off way, you see a large opening with two stone double doors on the south side.
Moving down this far, your lights shine upon the remaining of this hallway and you discover one last opening at the end of the hallway. You see mining cart tracks starting and going into this new rough cut room, it is safe to assume that this is the mining veins are located. You also notice that the ground, walls, and ceiling are covered in thick spider webs.
