Eh. It was worth a shot.
Fortunately, there should be at least one fewer Baykoks now ;-)
Also, Mr Whisker's Talisman of Freedom, Greater would just have triggered, so he is not, in fact, Paralysed :-)

GM Mort |

Crummock - did you take the negative level in the neg energy plane? If so I need to take note for purposes of saves.
Fort: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 2 + 4 = 24

GM Mort |

Sure. Just wanted to make sure you didn't use borrowed fortune since you didn't need to make the following 2 fort saves.
Fort: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 12 + 2 + 4 = 36.
1d20 + 12 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 12 + 2 + 4 = 28

GM Mort |

The subject can fly at a speed of 60 feet (or 40 feet if it wears medium or heavy armor, or if it carries a medium or heavy load). It can ascend at half speed and descend at double speed, and its maneuverability is good.
Einar, my favourite mode of movement is flying! And I wasn't born yesterday.
They were on top of the walls, that's 60ft. They flew 40ft up. So that's at least 100ft, and we're not looking at horizontal distance away.

GM Mort |

Range increments for revolvers, Einar. - 6 for range since revolvers have first range increment of 30ft. D20pfsrd is in error. Don't forget the - 2 due to wind too!

![]() |

That's fine too. Me chill. At least more chill then I am in RL because I told them not to clear my half eaten food then I went to the washroom to wash my paws after eating the chicken, but they cleared it anyway.
P.S I don't like drinking soup with oily paws.
Cue an extremely irritated yowl, "Hey I told you not to clear my food and I went to wash my hands and you cleared it!"
And they agreed to bring me a new dish.
I feel bad for the waste of food but it really wasn't my fault.

![]() |

Actually I went away very full, after eating one and a half servings of the meal. =)

GM Mort |

Crummock - if you're using this, since it's disguise self...
You cannot change your creature type (although you can appear as another subtype).
So you're still an outsider, not a human.

GM Mort |

You have like thousand rounds or so. Not expecting you're going to run out? Dimitri can also bum off his Russian buddies cos they are pack rats and carted off as much as they could carry.
TLDR: I'm not tracking mundane ammunition.

Crummock-i-Phail |

Oh, we have plenty of ammo - if Dimitri actually gets through all of it, I will be both surprised, and worried ;-)
It was more I know Einar has been using his revolver, and he doesn't actually have any ammo for it listed under his equipment, as far as I can tell :-P

GM Mort |

Oh dear. I thought Einar would have gotten some Ammo.
*smacks Einar on nose with rolled newspaper*
"Bad Einar!"

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
@Einar: Something I never checked... How many rounds of ammunition did you want for your revolver?
All of them? I haven't gone back and looked at how much revolver ammunition there was on the loot sheet. But I figured he would keep whatever there was.
I meant to add two plain bandoliers to load from and then keep the rest in the haversack.
I will go look around and try and fix it.

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |

hey, I forgot to put ammo on my list, not pee on the carpet...
uuummmm did we keep the ammo count different? I will go back and see how many rounds the 'riders with the sabers and pistols' had, and possibly the dead officer that the yeti's killed...

GM Mort |

Meh. Just put about 200 rounds on your character sheet it should cover the mod.

GM Mort |

Baykoks are vegetables?
Sorry. Struck me as funny. Especially how everyone in the party(except for Crummock) is messing up their names.

Mr. Whiskers |

Stuck me as funny as well, which is why I left the typo there.

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
Meh. Just put about 200 rounds on your character sheet it should cover the mod.
Good news we won't have to do that, I've found a couple of things. the first thing I found ‘the dullahans’ gear.
Searching the bodies, the party finds 6 +1 scimitars, 6 masterwork lances, and 6 revolvers, and 30 metal cartridges each.
So we start with 180 rounds. But even better! second:
Poking through Colonel Lavrenti's rather grisly remains, the party finds a bent +2 revolver, apparently repeatedly stomped on. Broken condition, but you guys can fix it, a +2 ring of protection and a +4 belt of incredible dexterity, a +1 scimitar and a masterwork lance and 6 dimensional grenades….
Nagant M1895 Revolver: This firearm is identical in operation to the advanced firearms revolver, though it has a capacity of 7 instead of 6. First range increment of 30 ft.
Since the Colonel didn’t have any bullets, and he certainly wasn’t incompetent, I’m going to have to assume that his +2 revolver automatically reloads itself. Since endless Ammunition isn’t available for firearms we must assume someone cast reloading hands and a permanency spell, or it’s actually a Pistol of the infinite sky
*Looks around to see if anyone is buying any of this,*

Mr. Whiskers |

Considering the damage from your most recent shots, NPCs might be safer if you do have an endless supply of bullets. :)
I wouldn't be surprised if the one yelling the orders decides you are not a threat at range.

GM Mort |

The Colonel was dealing with Yetis before you got to him and ran out of ammunition =)
But you can use any other metal cartridges you picked up anywhere else in camp.

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
@Einar: Amusingly, RAW, revolvers, rifles, and machine guns all use the same ammunition ;-)
ok, scary, but ok...
The Colonel was dealing with Yetis before you got to him and ran out of ammunition =)

Oh, it's one of those kind of action movies...
Welp, he's got bandoliers for 40 rounds, he will start with that, then 'borrow' bullets from the large caliber maxim machine gun :-o

GM Mort |

It's all the same damage so I don't really care.
What kind of action movies? *gives Einar curious look*
Oh ya, what did I want to say...Oh. yes. Feel free to retcon Dimitri's heals.

Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson |
There are a ton of 'shoot 'em up' action movies where the hero never loads his gun, or all the 'magazines' laying around happen to fit the gun he's carrying or he drops the gun, then later he has it again; that sort of thing. Arnold Schwarzenegger was famous for them, of course so was everyone in The Expendables a perfect example of the type of movie I'm talking about...

GM Mort |

Sorry - I don't know anything about guns, so I'd go by pathfinder RAW. Not to mention since I was a little busy when I posted the loot, I forgot the Ammo. Happy?
I could retcon that you got 70 metal catridges, or we can just say he ran out of Ammo and then the Yeti's got him. Either way there's no issue to it - I don't want players to be penalized in any way due to this kind of stuff.
Also Mr Whiskers, I'll try get the obscuring mist drawn up.

Mr. Whiskers |

I did my best to do it. Realized I just needed to center a circle on a different part that had a clear grid and then move it. Not something I can do from iPad but it worked here.

GM Mort |

Ok – obscuring mist is up. It’s the area bracketed by the grey squares.
Oh your GM has a streak of melodrama a mile wide, has a good sense of fun/twisted sense of humor, depending on how you look at it.
I did change each square to 20 feet instead of 15 feet because it was too hard to calculate 15 feet - but I made it clear right on the onset.

Mr. Whiskers |

So as to not confuse the issue, I've moved the yellow circle into the middle of the water.

GM Mort |

Relevant rule quote: "You can’t attack an opponent that has total concealment, though you can attack into a square that you think he occupies."
Relevant stuff:
While prone:
You can crawl 5 feet as a move action. You cannot take a 5-foot step while crawling.
Dimitri - even if he's healed up - can't see them where he is. He will need to move some.

Mr. Whiskers |

How is it that five can see Greta? Looks like at maximum only three can -- and that is only if they were so perfectly organized that those were the ones that waited for no more cries of pain from Dimitri.
---
Do people want to retreat or try to continue? Once we are no longer in a tight group, retreat really will not be an option.

GM Mort |

Only 4 fired on Greta. Since the last set was a complete flop, don't really see anything on my end to do.

GM Mort |

Just Retcon the healing here Crummock, when you have time.
Basically after the heal, Dimitri took another 64 pts of damage. I'd think that you would have healed him before the next encounter and based all those ranged attacks on him having full/close to full hp

Crummock-i-Phail |

Dimitri:
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6.
Done :-)

Even scarier: Apparently, shotguns use the same ammo, as well :-P

GM Mort |

I have no idea. I dislike guns in RL, and have as little to do with them as possible, so let's just go with pathfinder RAW.

Raw is great!
I will resist speaking more about similarities or differences of different era's of firearms ammunition.
... don't want to rub the fur on the kitty the wrong way...
Thank you Crummock, I will list 180 minus the 8 or 10 he has shot now.
Going to read the game thread now...

GM Mort |

Don't worry. This sort of thing doesn't rub my fur the wrong way. Its like describing colours to a blind cat. At the end of the day, I don't really geddit lol.

GM Mort |

Actually the shotgun cartridges are different. It says with 20 metal cartridges (pellets). The rest just say 20 metal cartridges.
Have some sympathy for your poor GM who hates firearms and bombs in pathfinder and had to do a crash course on MODERN FIREARMS just to run book 5 >.<

Crummock-i-Phail |

Ah, but RAW, Shotguns shoot both pellets (which are scatter shots), and normal bullets (which are single target) - that just means that the nut-job we got the gun off didn't have any bullets :-)

GM Mort |

Oh I didn't know. Just kept firing. Ok - the mod writer must've screwed that one up.

Mr. Whiskers |

How did the Baykok suddenly know not to use Rapid Fire?
The Wall of Force is invisible. Even more important, most of it is in the middle of the Mist. They wouldn't see arrows bounce off it in the mist and it is undefined what it sounds like when an arrow hits it.
I also do not like how it just happened to be the Baykoks on Greta's side that fired last the round before and first this time.
Your NPCs are nullifying changing tactics faster than I think is reasonable, especially given the resources I'm pumping out.
One Baykok fires on Greta’s last seen position, but hits only the wall of force.
”Hey – there’s something blocking my arrows! They’re being deflected by something!”
Another Baykok tries from another angle on Greta’s last seen position, but also hits only the wall of force. ”I’m not getting the right angle, either, my arrows are bouncing as well.”The third one yells, ”I see something over there!” And points at Geist, then fires at Geist, also landing on the wall of force. ”It seems something is blocking attacks from above – we need to get lower!”
One baykok descends, then fires an arrow at Geist.

GM Mort |

Three of them shot from 3 different angles (above) only to find something was blocking from above. So the fourth one tried from a lower angle and found that something was getting through.
There's really not much I can do when you mist up except blindfire and all that - since these guys basically are full archers.
Remember at anytime you want to - you can always pop out, come back again. No harm, no foul. And I told you before - I wasn't going to tell you when to take breaks.
PCs get put their actions in the order they want to, bad guys do too.
