Basically how I do things is this - your min/level buffs wear out after 2 encounters. I can't be letting you carry them throughout the dungeon.
Your 10min/level buffs that have been casted after you were spat out from the frost worm gullet would have worn out, but Mr Whiskers is using extended(so they haven't yet), and Crummock has used enough buff slots to keep 10 min/level buffs running for like 15h straight, so I'm not telling you about them.
All my buffs were the one min per level type so, sixteen minutes. I was just checking.
GM Mort
That's how I'll roll from here more or less - your min/level buffs are gone every 2 fights.
Rounds/level or anything under a min duration will last 1 combat encounter.
Be serious, Einar - after you looted the Linnorms hoard, then started stripping of the armor off the doggies - that would take plenty of time.
Raise dead also has a casting time of 1 min, so that's 1 min gone too.
GM Mort
And don't metagame your buffs either. You loot and you go along. After you leave, you don't turn back etc.
*Grouchy GM*
I'm off for lunch too.
Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson

I'm not sure I understand, are you saying we shouldn't hurry along, knowing our spells won't last forever and their may be something to fight ahead? Then when the spells wear off come back to where it is safe to inventory the stuff we found?
I wouldn't call that Meta-gaming, that would just make sense. If you have buffs up, you deal with any possible threats while you have them. Then count stuff when you don't.
GM Mort
I won't give you any extra time - since time goes at the speed of plot, whether you loot or not. 1 min/level = 2 encounters. Anything less then that = 1 encounter.
*shrug*

that's cool, I just didn't understand the 'metagaming' reference. I really try not to metagame, so I wanted to make sure I was clear on what you were saying.

I was eating lunch halfway... :P
But that's true in a way. There was a case I killed a PC, and I was hungry (it was at a con).
Mr. Whiskers
Time for bed.
Hope you all like my redecorating the dungeon! Getting good use out of that knowledge: Engineering to do bridges and such.
GM Mort
I'm going to think if you can actually do that to prevent the first round of damage of lava. Because it would have already happened.
Crummock-i-Phail

*Makes a mental note to make sure that Mort is kept well fed, and hydrated, if he sits down to a table at a Con with her*
;-)
Mr. Whiskers
Feather Fall is an immediate action. Geist hadn't taken his action yet so he couldn't start falling.
Then it looks like Crummock rewound time so that I didn't have to use those spells.
Time to figure out what I did instead...
GM Mort
Oh my. Sorry this is funny, grabbing cats...
Anyway Mr Whiskers, please retcon your action since Geist doesn't need rescuing anymore.
We had an eid on the table with like 15 ft reach(I believe it has to do with large biped + reach evolution). He plucked the critter from in the room, and used the grab to reposition the critter right next to him, in range of all the melee beatsticks to full attack.
Mr. Whiskers
Note to self, get Quicken Spell at 17th level. There are so many things I could do with that.
I also have to find a good replacement for Irresistible Dance. I hadn't realized until I tried to use it that it was a touch spell.
Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson
Against the Fiendish fire giants Einars attacks are doing partial damage, I assume cold iron or good, or lawful isn't the DR.
Just hoping you didn't forget the world serpent spirit.
Also he gets + 3 to AC if they are outsiders from World serpent.
Crud I totally forgot about this:
"World Serpent Totem Unity"
While raging, the barbarian doubles her fast movement bonus to land speed and cannot be knocked prone. She also doubles her world serpent totem insight bonus to AC against attack rolls made by an outsider or aberration to confirm a critical hit against her.
Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson
oh, also Einar is still wearing his eyes of deahwatch can he tell who is at deaths door? ;)
GM Mort
If you guys want to buff - you know, just buff before moving to the next area instead of you know, just ambling through?
GM Mort
I'm free, you're free...everyone's free :P So why the hell not ;-)
Lol - But Crummock managed to find a way to slip in his airwalks...and remove fear.
Alternatively what you can do is this - give me basic boting instructions, like I want to cast XX, YY before the next fight.
Of course if they don't make sense like casting mirror image against creatures that have true seeing, I won't use them.
GM Mort
Beg, borrow, steal from Crummock ;-) If he's got an airwalk for Greta, I'm sure he has one for you.
Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson
your Eryines have potty mouths!
Ok, going to bed. When combat comes have Einar rage, enlarge and attack the Erinyes he is near. Hopefully she won't move so he can full attack her if not follow and attack. Or if moves out of range, and another is in range, have him attack her.

We are stopping after this fight.
Einar is low on spells. Mr. Whiskers is low on spells. Several people could use Restorations. Let's find a place we can reasonably defend and hole up.
GM Mort
Sorry - I won't allow you to stop at the BBEG door without consequences.
I personally feel it's very metagamey. Like you know neverwinter nights where you can rest every (what the heck?) god d@mn place. If you wanted to do it earlier, you could have.

hey, I'm low, but not out ;)
one low spell for mirror image, or something else, and one for a higher spell of some sort, and if I get two combats out of each spell I go in with flight.
but you and Crummock make he call, I'm supposed to be in bed...

I wanted to stop before this point but we kept being rushed forward.
If we don't stop, there are also likely to be consequences.
How many people in the group have negative levels?
* Mr. Whiskers has 1
* Greta has 3
* Dmitri? I think he has some, but don't remember
GM Mort
Grab works for up to creatures your size - I thought Geist didn't grab on fire giants because you were figuring you'd murderhobo everything anyway, so it's a waste of time.
The grab rules say the ability only works on creatures smaller than the monster, but the grab rules in Bestiary 2 say the ability works on creatures of up to the monster’s own size. Which is correct?
Bestiary 2 is the newer, updated version: grab works on creatures up to the size of the monster with the grab ability.
Crummock-i-Phail
I don't think any of us can afford to take off our cloaks in exchange for the wings...
The bracers are equivalent to the Mage Armor that he currently has from Mr Whiskers.
Einar 'Kinslayer' Bjornson
*cough* if Einar wants an Air Walk, now is the time to mention it ;-)[/Crummock
Mort said we get two fights out of a cast, so the 'fly' spell Einar cast should still be good. He still has one 4th level spell and one 2nd level spell left after the Mirror image, will probably cast shield when he rages and leave the last fourth for is something goes horribly wrong.
Can Dimitri or Greta use the wings?
Also does Greta want Einars MW Compound Bow (+4 str)?
Crummock-i-Phail
Fair enough :-)
Dimitri already has a spiffy cloak, so he certainly doesn't want to trade it in. Greta should also have (at least) a +3 cloak, so I don't think she would be willing to trade it in...
GM Mort
I don't mind restoration being done as part of planar ally costs(since RAW SLAs do not require expensive material component, and summons can't do it but called creatures can), but if raise dead...eh...I think I would be a little twitchy about it.
Crummock-i-Phail
Well, at least, RAW, you only have to give us the spells the Bestiary says they have prepared (even though, theoretically, since they are 'clerics', they could change their prepared spells); I had to look long and hard to find a suitable one that had Restoration prepared!
Also, they are *not* spell-likes - they are prepared spells, so they *do* have material component requirements.
GM Mort
Yeah but there are certain outsiders that do have raise dead as SLA. Really.
Sorry, your GM still has quite a bit of conjurer in her.
GM Mort
I appreciate that. I did study planar binding in the academy, afterall - though I never really put it to practice due to its nefarious reputation.
Yes Einar, all along I knew that even though Crummock(before he updated his sheet with raise dead), could raise Greta.
I just didn't want to do your thinking for you, since it's not in my place as a GM to do so.
Besides how would I know if you callous lots might just decide to finish the whole section without her? That would be a valid choice too.
