Fizzlewhisk follows in the footsteps of his family legacy- ridding the world of giants and their ilk. For the past several years he has been stuck living the life of a trapper while his parents venture off into the world, presumably taking the fight to all Jotun-kind. Fizzlewhisk makes his living as a small-town huntsman, trapping game and selling pelts to get by.

I think Northern Ancestry is popular for that little cold resist. Fine, I'll just change all cold descriptors to fire. BWAHAHAHA!
Nah, but wow!

Yeah, but don't we kinda need at least one caster for Reign of Winter?
Marcian will (in a few levels) be a semi-caster, and Ordrik can cast spells, they just focus more on being a divine weapon of Torag. If it comes down to it, I'll GMPC a caster, but you all should be fine I assume.

OK, cool, it would be depressing to see the game crash because the party didn't have the classes it needs!

I once went to a Pathfinder Society game. I played a ranger, buddy played a fighter, there was a barbarian and then there was a rogue. We murdered everything and the barbarian built themselves to be a damage sponge. Not a single heal was ever needed.
That said, that's Society and not an AP, balance is more needed in AP's in general, but cautious play and resources allocation should make it more than workable.

I think it'll be fun, in any case. So, most everyone knows each other in passing, some might know each other at least well enough.
If any of you want to be friends/distant relatives/friendly rivals, let's get that taken care of tonight and tomorrow. Game will start 12/17.
Fizzlewhisk's parents are out and about somewhere in the world, beyond that, just a disgruntled hatred of all things giant.
Annalísa Finnrsdóttir |
Annalisa probably spends most of her time with her feet propped up on a chair in the tavern watching for anyone who might have had just a bit too much to drink and might be thinking about causing trouble. Anyone who has visited the tavern has at least seen her, any who have taken the time to talk to her would have been welcomed in conversation. She's usually accompanied by her dog, Hundur (which translates as "dog" and she thinks that's fitting enough of a name for a dog). When she's not at the tavern, she's likely visiting with the locals or running the occasional errand for one of the elders.

@Mark Thomas: I guess you could always imagine that the shape of the spirit companion is that of a tiny version of a mammoth... just keep the stats of whichever animal you choose. No?
Yeah I like that idea. Looking at the options I'll reskin the Goat as a Pygmy Mammoth if it's ok, since it gets a gore attack so would represent the tusks.

I am not set on this character, if it helps, I can fill an open role for the party.
Lack of a caster may be problematic.
If the group wants me to do that, let me know what ya'll would like to see!

Alright, I think things are set up well. I'll open the discussion and game threads shortly!
Aðvinr |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
The most likely outsider, I'd say Aðvinr's travels, essentially going where the spirits lead him even when it makes little sense, have taken him south and he's just passed through Heldren when things start to go down.
He's probably in the tavern a bit since he has a feeling that for some reason he needs to be here though he has no idea why.
Marcian the Stoat |
A member of the militia and town guard, Marcian also performs odd jobs around the village, mostly doing things that require strength.
A regular patron of the tavern, plus his time walking the beat in the village, have made him a well known sight to many people.
The village often jokes about some towns having a brute squad, several strong people to help maintain order, while here, Marcian IS the brute squad!
