Eredhaias:
A translucent image of a globe hangs suspended in midair, slowly rotating in place, above a summoning circle in the blue-tiled floor of this large chamber. Lines of arcane energy glow across the globe's surface, faintly humming with power as they connect multiple endpoints in a radiant glow bright enough to illuminate the domed ceiling overhead. Many tables and shelves covered in books, maps, and large scrolls line the room's circular walls, and a large ornate mirror hangs between two open windows to the west. Twin ice sculptures of demonic fiends flank a bubbling cauldron in an archway leading into a deep alcove in the southern wall. More importantly, though, your companions are locked in combat with several Ice Elementals - in addition to Mierul and a male Witch. The left half of the room is oddly devoid of sound.

Third Floor:
Two more Elementals fall, and Hobbes shoots Mierul again in the shoulder. From her wild slashes, it's clear that she's beginning to panic at the Halfling's unflappable demeanor. Unfortunately, Percy's spell washes over her harmlessly (passed save). Sigrun, meanwhile, steps up and swing her massive hammer at Radosek. With a sneer, he sidesteps, pulls out a wand, and makes a massive spear of ice erupt from beneath Sigrun's feet.

Sigrun: 7pts cold damage (Reflex 16 for half)
Hobbes: 11pts fire damage
Neverhome: 2pts damage + 1pt cold damage + Fort DC 12 or staggered for 1 round

Seeing the witch pull out a wand and cast baleful magic at Sigrun Neverhome lets out a long drawn out snarl before adding words intermingled with the primal threat as he steps toward the witch, every other creature in the room fades away from his thoughts and vision as he moves. "She is my friend. You are harming my friend. Mine. You. Do. Not. Touch. What. Is. MINE." Glaring as he steps up close he'll bring his sword across in a sudden jerked swipe.

Moved to the right of Mr. Witch, I'll take the AoOs.

Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 Take 4 pt's cold damage, Cold celerity continues

Sigrun's eyes widen as her hammer passes cpmpletely through the witch, moments before a spear of ice erupts beneath her. Unable to react in time she feels the icy chill pierce her body, painful yet fueling her. From where she stands she can see Lyosha also caught up in primal fury, fire flaring around him. Though he appears to be roaring at the witch, her world is plunged in an eerie silence.

Their enemies would all be dead before sound returned.

Were it possible to hear her, the icy laughter that rises in her throat would be truly chilling, utterly devoid of mirth, full of a vengeful rage as merciless as arctic night.

1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 1 = 10

As she glances to her left again, her swing goes far wide, slamming into the icy floor, so distracted is she by the burning fury that is Lyosha, approaching the enemy like the fires of destruction themselves.

Sigrun:
[ooc]Psst... There's no way an unarmored Witch has an AC of 23+ at this level - even with buffs. There's something else going on that involves GM-rolled Will saves - which you passed... ;-)

Nice, in the silence zone I have no reason the think it strange other than he's casting spells in silence, and I'm a barbarian, what do I know about spellcasting? Well played. Though my hammer passing through him will definitely ping as weird.

Sigrun:
Hence the Will Save for interaction. Which you passed. :-) You may not know about spellcasting, but you would know that nobody dodges that kind of hammer blow. Of course, if you want to keep the others in the dark, that's all the better for me. ;-) Neverhome will be getting a secret Will Save when I post the enemy's actions, and if you say something, he'll get a bonus. Hobbes fires another set of arrows and manages another hit on Mierul. Then Silence steps up and silently smites the silenced songstress (thank Kats for the epic alliteration). She falls and doesn't get up. Neverhome recklessly charges Radosek, ignoring the blows from the Elementals and unleashes a powerful swing - only to have it be effortlessly dodged. The Witch responds by pointing his wand at Neverhome and conjuring another massive icicle that knocks him to the ground. Meanwhile, Percy resummons her good friend Rocky, but he fails to hit either of the Ice Elementals. He's probably still shaking off summoning sickness (entering the battlefield tapped, and all that).

His hand and weapon smoke and then ignite, glowing with the light of a torch and shedding a small amount of heat to those around him.

Give me the killer of Nadia's child and you may yet live.

Unless you where involved with her death.

In which case, you will die here, today.

I doubt you have the power to end all of us...boy.

What is your place here?

What are you to that child killer?

A pet?

A crony?

A minion?

@Zses: Yep. There's magic in the area. (considering there's a silence spell and an image spell, that shouldn't be a surprise)

Vashti suddenly feels something butt against the backside, and a large amount of her life force is sapped away. A goat is behind her. A moment later, you realize it looks exactly like Gruff! The silence was deafening. In the inbetwixt of where his thoughts and soul were falling apart he could hear everything, and nothing. Every aching muscle, every stab of his heart against his chest washing his life away in red waters, his broken bones grinding against each other in morbid rhythm. And there was something else, hidden behind the breaking and bleeding, playing along so masterfully with his body's decay. Dark coils undulating against the darkness beyond thought, churning upon themselves to the tune of the perfect death rattle he noticed the serpent had a singer to compliment the dancer.

Welcome home, sad man
Beaten down and broken man,
it called to him plainly.

Why do you keep breathing
While she lies sleeping,
it asked, anger showing in it's crushing dance.

Why do you lie dozing
While they keep fighting,
the anger rising.

Come now, find out what's left of your soul
Death is prowling,
he noticed something, deep within the coils.

There's no use running
Your story is ending,
the singer and dancer were one.

Welcome home, cursed man
Wretched and worthless man,
it called out to him plainly, happily, waitingly.

Welcome home.

The combination of the warmth of a Mother's touch and the Death Goddess' cool caress work in unison to knit the bones and muscles in Neverhome's face back to their original shape, the cracking and stretching thankfully muted.

Why do you still draw breath
Every move you make is a mistake

You belong here
You have no right to live

You were born into the grave
On a mother's whim

You will soon be erased
You and all of your mistakes

Just stay down, lay down
In Death's sweet embrace

Useless monster
Fangless, scaleless

You betrayed your flesh
You betrayed your heart

You have no right to live
