The door is unlocked and untrapped. Inside, you find a sitting room. Atop a table in the northeast corner, you can see a pretty glass oil lamp sitting on a handmade doily. In another corner, there's a rocking chair sitting next to a basket containing yarn, knitting needles, and a half-completed mitten. The door to the east of this room leads to a water closet containing a bathtub, washbasins, and a privy. From behind the southern door, you hear the voice of an elderly woman call, "Evija? Is that you?"

Zses opens his mouth to reply, but closes it back a second after: bickering now would only make it more likely for the old lady/witch to suspect that something was amiss. He would have liked to say how he thought that going around slaying people left and right wasn't something he was too keen on: instead, he opts to reason with something more pragmatic.
"The less people we alert, the better. While those trolls could have attacked us from behind, the possibilities of an evil-or-not old lady doing so are lower. Let's just let Sigrun handle this and be on our way."

As you quietly debate the best course of action, the air shimmers near the northern wall. A moment later, an elderly woman steps THROUGH the wall and points at the two Barbarians. The elf man redraws his blade, chuckling as he incants low, a red glow extending from his fingertips into the blade of his weapon. The drip is slow and molasses like, and once the dripping completes, the blade glows a blood red for just a moment before the color fades.

Casting Brow Gasher on the black blade and gonna prepare to move closer next round.


@Zses: You realize the strange creature is an Attic Whisperer. It's an undead created from the spirit of a neglected child and its few possessions.

I love these things. They're one of the creepiest and most tragic creatures in any of the Bestiaries.

The fear punches through Percy like a supernatural bullet, and finds a furnace unlike anything it's seen before. Percy sees the rage driven warriors flee and isn't daunted in the least. This was her kind of fight.

Seeing the two barbarians flee away, Zses focuses on the Attic Whisperer that Allie was attacking.

As the two barbarians flee, Allie and Percy are the only people to land successful attacks on the enemies. Zses does manage to hex the undead creature with misfortune, but it retaliates with a bite. Hissing at you, the old woman fills the room with a sudden gout of fire. (burning hands is fun)

Pressing behind an overturned table, the elf manages to escape with only a minor burn to the left side of his head. As he stands, Ered's eyes show a coldness as he strides forward, going between everything that stands in his way. Although he does manage to catch the flame producing woman with his weapon, it is only a glancing blow. The location, though, is the unique part: her forehead.

Even as he stands, waiting for her rebuttal, the wound glows as the elf chuckles an arcane phrase under his breath. After the glow subsides, the blood flows like water from the wound down towards the witch's eyes.

Brow Gasher. The old lady will take 2 bleed damage at the start of each turn and a cumulative -1 on Attack rolls. Once it hits -3 penalty, all creatures are treated with concealment.

The trick to not get hit by spells is rolling all 17s, 18s, and 19s (in that order!).

After flinching a moment from the pain, Zses opens his eyes again and stares defiantly at the witch. "Allie, there's no need to get so worked up." he chuckles. "This third rate witch's spells wouldn't even be able to knock over a flower pot! I bet she can't even cackle properly." Zses mocks the spirit of the witch, who was probably going to fall soon under his friend's assault.

Rocky barely misses the Jadwiga, but his strike was better served as a distraction. Taking advantage of an opening, Ered's blade inflicts a truly grievous wound on the witch, sending blood everywhere. She staggers back, in retreat when her wound begins to glow. Moments later, a pillar of fire consumes her from the inside. With a final wail, the witch is gone. Only her clothing remains.

Hobbes and Hila promptly proceed to make short work of the undead thing.
