I have to say I am slightly confused as to what took place, and I would like more information to make my decision.
Here is my question:
@Twi: why did you post about Jamarcus wanting to circumvent the effect of magic? Where there PMs exchanged between the two of you?
EDTIT: for the others, please check the links given by Jamarcus.

Twilightrose |

Because his statement of not believing in magic and accompanying actions seem to imply that the rules of the magic were irrelevant to him and he was going to wake the bandit his way regardless of being told it wouldn't work. To be honest, though, Grimkell, my reasoning for my statements and his reasoning for his actions in the game are not the problem as I see it and are not the basis for which I'm asking you guys to choose your path going forward. The way that he chose to address his concerns and the way he continues to be petulant and disrespectful to me is the line that was crossed that is causing the vote to occur. I'm being as diplomatic as I can in the matter. But simply put, I'm not going to subject myself to playing with someone who insists on being rude and antagonistic towards me.
No private messages were exchanged. Everything was said publicly either on here or on the reddit thread Jamarcus created before approaching me with his concerns.

Ok! Thanks. I knew it was not the main issue, but to me most details are important. I actually did not notice the thread Jamarcus linked to at first, which further explains my first reaction to both of your posts (total ignorance!).
I will send my vote shortly to both of you so has not to influence the remaining voter.

DM Twilight |

OK, well it's been nearly 24 hours since I asked for a vote. I've had one abstain, 2 vote for me to stay, and one who has not cast a vote. I wanted to wait long enough to give everyone a chance, and I apologize to the person who has not yet cast their vote but at this point it would be at most a 2:1 vote for me to stay.
That being said, I have someone who is already interested in replacing Jamarcus. They've created a very basic character and I will have them post so that you can then consider whether you would like for them to join. They have not completed their profile yet, understandably, because I leave it to you to decide if they join or not.

Hi all, I'm not the person DM Twilight was talking about, but I am in her other ROW game and just wanted to comment on what happened in this one. Specifically to Jamarcus' player.
The first thing is that it seems you may be new to PBP,especially on these boards, and there are some things that would definitely make future ventures into PBP less...well ugly.
In PBP especially, the game is a COOPERATIVE effort between the players and GM. Trying to circumvent the rules to fit your concept, being antagonistic, doesn't help anyone.
Sure, we've all got that crazy bad ass concept that can wade through a bunch of enemies. You're level one. nobody's all that bad ass at level one. You'll get there eventually, and your GM is part of that. Helping your character to develop over the course of the campaign.
Trying things like kicking down trees and ignoring magic at level one...not gonna work. And the concept can work if you decide that's where you want to go.there are traits and feats that make a character great at literally ignoring the hell out of magic, but it takes time and you build your character towards that concept, not demand things work the way you want because you say so. Your gaming experience isn't more important than anyone else's and definitely doesn't supercede that of the group.
Rule 1 everyone has fun.
Rule 2 if you get in the way of rule 1, the good of the group takes precedence.

Oh, wow. While I'm squealing over penguins and drinking cider on the beach, this happens o_O

Looking over the drama, it looks like the best choice was made - it all went the way I would have voted. Taking it to Reddit, though? One of the internet's cesspools? No way that was going to end as anything other than, well, what you saw. I'm sorry you had to read such awful comments on your ability.
However, I have to ask, will I be made to roll damage if I want to Gibbs slap a party member who's being a bit of an ass? (Sorry, just a bit of tongue-in-cheek) (Though with both Lars and Jamarcus gone, there aren't any likely targets left)
Is Zisel gone, as well, or did she just abstain from the vote?
You made a good call in putting your foot down, boss lady. It's for the best.
As for the penguins, Granite Island, just a walk over the causeway from Victor Harbour, used to have about 2000 wild fairy penguins a decade ago. The population is now down to about 40, but slowly rising again. The island is full of natural and man-made burrows, and the conservationists hold nightly penguin tours - they take groups around with red lights and show you any penguins that have emerged, are outside their burrows, walking around, or coming home. We saw three penguins, and several rather fat possums!

As for the new submission, it all looks good. I look forward to seeing the character fleshed out. Sorry for the double post; Wayfinder doesn't allow me to edit.

For something like the Gibbs slap, I'd basically consider that to be a point of nonlethal, basically, yeah it stung. The only reason I asked for him to roll in the first place was the description he used, they weren't gentle "hey dude, wake up" slaps. So with a Gibbs slap, the damage from it would be gone in an hour (1 hp of nonlethal healed per hour according to the prd).
I'm glad to know that you're accepting of the way things turned out and I'm glad to have your support. Especially glad you're still with us!
I don't think Zisel is gone, I certainly hope that wasn't the case. If we don't hear from her tonight I'll send her a PM to see if she's still with us.

DM Twilight |

Excellent, glad to hear it! Thoughts on the new submission, Zisel?
Yeva's player is working super late tonight, so may not be ready to post until tomorrow. I'll post here shortly explaining in game Jamarcus leaving and allow you guys to resume posting. Please keep it to just general role play and don't leave the area just yet.

I definitely think that Dragonblood (Yeva) is a good player.I am just afraid that his posting rate might be a bit slower than that of the group. Might be wrong though.scratch the last part, I think I got a false impression lately.
Posting slowed down this month due to me not having a day off at all (acting manager for my store), but things are easing up, so I should be able to post daily again.

Hey guys, sorry I've been a bit absent. I informed Twilight privately, and I'm letting you all know now, that I split with my fiance on Wednesday, and I've been rather fragile since. We were together six years, so I have a lot of pieces to pick up.
I'm still around, and I'll be hanging out here in discussion a lot more. I'll try to get to gameplay when I can, but if I ever don't, I'm happy for one of you to bot me (I'm going to nominate Mirri, for reasons, if Twilight's busy). Don't forget about me, and don't think I'm, giving up on this. We've had enough drama and lineup-changes already! ;-)

My interest is piqued.

Wow... I did not receive update on the discussion for this game in 9 days... really weird. Also, explains why I did not advertise the other game much.
To catch up: I hope things go as well as they can.
Also, what gave you the idea of having Pym join the group? I think its really cool. Maybe later someone could take her as a follower with leadership!

DM Twilight |

I'm back home, had the world's crappiest internet at the hotel that kept cutting out on me couldn't do a damn thing. I'm a bit exhausted and just want to relax right now. I'll try to update tonight, but I wouldn't expect anything until tomorrow. Sorry guys, and thank you for your patience!

So, it's coming into summer here in South Australia, and that means it's fire season. We've had several Catastrophic danger levels this month. (The scale is Low - Moderate - High - Very High - Severe - Extreme - Catastrophic, because Australia does not f%+* around.)
Today, we had a fire start out near my place of employment, which is in a rural area. Even though the wind was blowing away from us, we evacuated the whole site just to play it safe. And because it's a primary school, that resulted in 350 terrified kids and stressed teachers being kept indoors and taking drink and toilet breaks in pairs, while every member of leadership and support staff rang the parents of every child to evacuate them. I'm home now, and all the main roads near me have been closed off. I'm safe, but shaken, and it's made me realize that there may well come a time when I'm affected by a fire and won't be able to get online and let everyone know. If that happens, I'll try to get a real-life friend with a Paizo account to spread the word.

Just when I was starting to really recover from my breakup, my beautiful spaniel Ruby-Charles died this morning. She was my first real pet, and she's left some big fuzzy boots to fill. Posting may be a bit hit-and-miss while I try to heal. Sorry to do this again so soon, but sometimes the d20 of life falls on a 1.
On a lighter note, I managed to forget that longbow crits are x3, not x2. Whoops.

That's rotten timing. If I could bring you chicken soup, I would, but the flights are a bit much :P Get well soon!
