Guys, I just used 10 gold from each of you towards the wand. We bought a wand with 10 charges.
I'm about to finish up my character profile except for the background.
I do like the idea of my connection to Josie being through my father. It makes sense that he would be a missionary for Sarenrae and I would follow in his footsteps.

Awesome, glad to know we're all still on board. Itching to give this thing another try.
Lately I've had a hankering for an Iron Gods game, but I've never actually sat down and flipped through the tech rules. Considering the posting rates in my two current games, I should be able to fit it in, I just need to find a game that would be okay with me stumbling through the rules. Time to scour the recruitment boards for the right fit...

I am definitely still here; just have been super busy today and yesterday with the new job and unexpectedly having to work longer shifts than I'd initially thought. I *DO* have a day off tomorrow though and come hell or high water I'll get more of a background fleshed out for Josie so we can get this show on the road (or be ready to once 12.5% is back from his trip).

Okay folks, I finally got Josie's profile sheet prettified and a background written! It's on the profile too, but I'll paste it here under a spoiler to make it easier to read.
Originally born on the floating Gnomish settlement of Gogpodda, Josie spent the first part of her life living at sea. Although she enjoyed meeting and talking with the traders that would come to the migrant island whenever it floated close to land, she soon grew to want more. This wasn't especially unusual given the need of all gnomes to ward off the Bleaching though, so her friends and family were happy to see her on her way the next time the island floated close to the coast and to the city of Magnimar.
Once ashore in Magnimar, Josie quickly realized that she should probably figure out a good way to get by and earn her keep out in the wider world. Though she'd always been fascinated with magic and tinkering with magical items (sometimes to hilarious, sometimes to disastrous effect) she'd never had the patience to truly study the arcane arts or alchemy. But she'd always enjoyed roughhousing with her peers as a child and like all gnomes she'd been given some basic weapon training should she ever need to defend herself - so she cheerfully hired on to a passing caravan as a guard, happy to kill two birds with one stone. She'd earn money protecting the caravan from whatever dangers might present themselves and she'd get to travel and see more of the world - a win/win!
And so over time, Josie slowly made her way further and further east, riding the roads with various caravans and meeting a fair variety of people in the process. It would have been an exciting enough life for most gnomes, but two events occurred that would forever change her life. The first was a chance encounter with Rolg Giantkin, a half-giant that made the mistake of laughing at her short stature in a Vigil tavern. After giving him a sound thrashing, he offered to join her in her travels. Feeling her point had been proven and reasoning that life on the road would be more entertaining and safer with a companion, she accepted.
The second event occurred some time later, after Rolg and Josie had made their way to the city of Absalom. It was there that the pair crossed paths with a priest of Sarenrae, Father Helionta. Father Helionta was originally from Taldor but had traveled the Inner Sea a fair bit as a missionary for his goddess. Although the worship of Sarenrae was fairly common in the large cosmopolitan city Josie herself knew little of the faith, being more familiar with the faiths of Cayden Cailean, Desna, and Erastil. As she listened to him preach, something awoke deep within Josie - a desire to serve this goddess, to help offer others the promise of a better tomorrow. Afterwards, she approached Father Helionta and begged him to take her on as an acolyte. Though it was fairly clear and obvious that the priesthood would not suit someone like Josie, Sarenrae never turns down those whose hearts are good and in the right place and so he directed her to the local temple within the city. From there, with Rolg in tow, Josie pledged her skills to Sarenrae; the pair made for quite effective, if somewhat unusual, guardians for the temple and for the temple clergy if needed.
After a few months of this, the pair were contacted for a rather unusual assignment - accompany Father Helionta's daughter, herself a priestess of Sarenrae, to the Taldan town of Heldren to investigate rumors of strange weather and other happenings. Although Hariette Helionta's assignment to this task was one of her own choosing, her father had specifically requested Josie and Rolg escort his daughter. The trio were also advised that they would likely be joined by a fourth, recommended by one of the temple's scholarly contacts.
Plans were made and the small group made for the town of Heldren...
Hopefully that looks good to everyone? Still a little vague in places but it should get the job done and give everyone some wiggle room on background, though I did try to tie everyone in before we actually get to Heldren.

For me it was just the urge to try something different and this AP seemed to be the most "normal" of the different APs. Most of the other unique APs introduce new rules (RotW, IG, KM) which I am not interested in learning. Plus, the planar jumping sounds interesting. Baba Yaga and the lore surrounding her doesn't really interest me all that much which is what initially steered me away from Reign of Winter.

I'd heard that it can make for a pretty cool 'fairy tale' sort of story what with Baba Yaga and witches and fey and whatnot which sounded like it could be a lot of fun!
Amusingly enough I'd originally envisioned making a paladin for a Wrath of the Righteous but the neat lore link between Snowcaster elves and the Jadwiga was enough that Soliana's backstory wrote itself with no problems. Truth be told, I'll probably repurpose her for a WotR game someday though I hope I can redo the background enough to still keep her interesting.

I am seeing that our GM has been posting on the forums recently, so we know that he is back. Hopefully he will update us today. That being said, I am certainly feeling that the flame for this game has died a bit for me. I'm not saying I'm out, but if things don't get rolling real soon, I'll probably step down from this game.

And I will follow suit. My RL is absolutely bonkers right now anyway, so it's probably for the best.
Good gaming all.
