Should not it be a diplomacy check?
The common folk certainly know about druids, in a sense. They do not see much of them but there is a druid living just outside the town the city that is know to everyone. Avarthel is his name. For some he is a good person that help others with his knowledge of nature. For others he is meddling person that like to interfere with the town bussiness that have to be with the forest.

I dunno... I'm not trying to mingle with the town's citizen as much as I'm trying to observe them. It's more of a "What do I see?" than "What do they tell me?" (the Sense Motive check is there just to detect hostile intentions or deceit), but if you insist...
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
To be clear, my idea was just to observe the daily activities and maybe overhear something interesting... e.g.: I wouldn't find out about Avarthel or personal opinions, but I'd see the overall state of affairs in the city and find out if there is some place where druids and the like gather together... You know, stuff you can find out by observing, rather than asking.

There is only one druid. Avarthel. He live just outside the twon in the west bank of the river in what twonfolks known as "the old ones". (see a bit of information in the last page)
Actually, that information is in this page. :P

            Sorry, been rather busy.
Spica will seek a local shrine to Desna or, in the absence of such, a tranquil place near the road at the edge of the village, offering a few prayers to her deity, and requesting blessings of luck for her and her companions.
Perhaps I'll meet some interesting NPC or other.

@ Spica
You find a small shrine dedicated to your goddess. But it is abandoned and in bad conditions.
An unusual occurrence. You do not see much followers of the tender of dreams these days - Say stout old man. He is dressed with ceremonial ropes of the church of Saranrae and the symbol of the danwflower is pretty visible. He is accompanied by a small group of childerns. - A shame - He continues - But I suppose in those days most people prefer more battle minded divinities
@ Flynn and Kenchi
You cross the Elsir river in look for the druid called Avarthel. Just outside the town you find a small clearing that have a small circle of menhir.
There is a Wolf lying there. When you approach it raise its ears, moves its head and careful look at you. Then it is like it saw nothing, cause it lie again as if you were not there.
A young half-elf dressed with simple dressings exist the brush, he have a dead rabbit in his hand.Greeting travelers - say the young man with a solemn looking.

"A shame. There is much to learn from the blessings of freedom and dreams."
Spica offers the man a handshake, and a kind smile to the children that accompany him.
"It is always a pleasure to meet the faithful of a deity friendly to my own. May Desna's dusk and Sarenrae's dawn be equally kind to you," Spica says.

Flynn greets the half-elf with a friendly smile. When he speaks, he does so in the secret language used by druids.
"Ah, you must be Avarthel, the local guardian of the wilds!"- at this point, Flynn then starts to speak in plain common, so that Kenchi can understand him. "It's always a pleasure to meet another warden. My name is Flynn, this is my friend, Kenchi. We're newcomers to this town, and would like to know more about it and its citizens."
Did anyone ever get around to telling Flynn about the significance of the hobgonlin's holy symbol?
BTW, I think Kenchi's missing 2 known languages.

Nice to meet you, My name is Derny, they call my brother Derny. Well, I suppose I will leave you alone so you can continue with your prayers. If you have time you can come to the temple of saranrae later, it seems like this small ones liked you
@ Flynn
A weird place have you choose to made your inquiries. Most would not considerate me a member of Drellyn´s ferry. I am her mostly to make sure the presence of the town do not disturb the nature of the forest.

"I did take a look around town... But if I am to make inquiries about it, I might as well start by asking the opinion of a fellow guardian of the green." Flynn throws a few bread crumbs to nearby birds and continues to speak. "More importantly... Can you tell us about the recent goblinoid raids?"

Nicos
@Flynn
You have to be from outseide the valley since you say to bea druid but you are not a member of the circle of Eth.
And yes, There is always goblinoid around here, but it seems that this time they seems to be more dangerous. In the days of yore The circle would have taken care of the goblinoid, but I am afraid I am the only druid in too much miles around.

"I'm indeed from a outside. My homeland is many miles from here. I'm in a journey to learn more about the natural balance of the world, so that I teach others how to live without disturbing it. I'd like to know more about this circle of Eth."
(Flynn waits for Avarthel to tell more about the circle of Eth before mentioning the goblins again)
Flynn takes a wooden stick sitting around and uses it to draw a crude representation of the holy symbol he found on the hobgoblin raider.
"About those hobgoblins... They seem to be part of a cult of some sort. Our party was attacked by a group led by a hobgoblin priest whose holy symbol consisted of multiple dragon heads of different colors... Can you tell us anything about them? Maybe the location of their hideout."

Nicos
@ Flynn
Tiamat, called the avaricious if I am not wrong. I was not aware Tiamat was a deity of goblinoids though. And I can not say their hideout. I do can tell that it is not near the town, That I know for sure. CAn I ask what are your bussines in Drellyns ferry and why are youa sking for the goblinoids. - say the druid while starting a small fire

"These goblins attacked me and my friends, and it seems they have been attacking innocent folk too. I intend to put an end to that."- says Flynn as he sits by the fire - "I admit I don't know much about the circle of Eth, but I'd like to think guardians of the green are against the slaughter of innocent people in the name of an evil goddess, so I came to you, hoping that you could offer us assistance, or at least, some useful information."

After the priest of Sarenrae leaves, Desna takes it on herself to clean up the shrine, and offers some prayers before she leaves to return to the party.

Kenchi walks off to visit one of the guard posts.
"Hello there, guardsman. I've been tasked with aiding you against the goblinoids. Is there anything you can tell me about them?"

Nicos
@ Kenchi and Flynn
So you intent to put and end to this threat? Good to hear. Well, I can not tell you were their den is, but I can tell you were they are not. I know very well the southern part of the forest, And I think they are not there - he draw a map of the forest in the sand (look at the map up there). - I think they are in the northern part, maybe somewhere between the old Vraath Keep and the skull gorge.
I wish I could join your expedition, but I have duties here, so I can't help you more but I can help you a little, I have some potion taht I can sell you at half the standard price
@ Spica
Derny: That is awful, good that you and your friend survived. Any chance you are with the group that Norro wil send to chase the hobgoblins?
