About Kenchi Ma

Kenchi was born the son of a farmer in Tia. Upon coming of age, he joined the army, looking for excitement. There he learned to fight, and fight well, and he stayed on for several years.
After his term was up, he began traveling, having nowhere he really wished to be, and wanting to see more of the world. During that time he met a wizard, who said he saw something in him, the spark of a talent for magic, and offered to teach him if he was willing (and could pay, of course).
Always seeking to experience something new, Kenchi agreed, and spent a few more years under the wizard's (known only as "Graybeard" to most) tutelage, fanning that spark into a usable flame.
Though he came to the talent later than most, and was constrained by his strict training and warlike mindset, he nonetheless managed to master the concept of magic, and Graybeard finally told him he had no more to teach Kenchi, he must seek his own path.
The focus of Kenchi's path, as you might imagine, was combat magics. He found that while his spellcasting ability was weak, compared to some, he had the rare gift that allowed him to fuse his spells and his fighting together, creating a cohesive whole.
As such, Graybeard gifted him a magic sword, something pulled from a dragon's den many years before, when Graybeard was an adventurer himself. He said that the sword was intelligent, but dormant, and required just such a mage as himself to draw forth its abilities.
And thus, Ilikthang was bestowed upon him, the talking sword with a dragon's mindset, and has continued to grow along with him.
Honing his abilities during his travels, he eventually came into the company of his current companions, and they now travel to Drellin's Ferry, to see what might await them there.
