Manual work making the explosive bottles reminds William of the time spent in South Africa. In his shirt and waistcoat, he siphons kerosene from the tanks to the bottles and passes them to Digger for corking them with the rag. When they are finished, he washes his hands and looks with pride at the makeshift explosives.
"Well, mighty fine, we have two each. Remember not to get any of the kerosene on you, and if you miss don't step on the fire. Is the plan just to go and get her, or do we want to lure her somewhere? Oh, and Master Singh, if you would explain Master Zahn how to use the bottles, I would be most obliged."

Day dawns cold and clear. The snow has halted for the moment, leaving nearly two feet of fresh snow. The temperature is bitter, certainly below zero degrees Farenheit. Travels will be difficult, but the cabin is well stocked with cold weather gear.

William puts on a heavy woolen coat and fur-trimmed boots, uncomfortable in the cold-weather gear and used to warmer places. "Everyone got their bottles? A way to set fire to them? Tally-ho then."
And he walks off, keeping the revolver close, bottle and matches in his hands.

As you head out into the cold, it doesn't take long for the creature to reappear. She comes from the trees across the ravine, this time she stays about 30 feet above you, circling slowly.

"Now you are going to get it, humans. I have told Teb Knotten of your interference, and he has promised that you will be sorely punished when his forces come through the portal."

"Who cares about Ted. The important thing is ..."

"Portal? Portal to where? And where is this Portal?"

"Teb is our commander, the thin end of the wedge. He will lead the conquest of this place. Already you have proven your weakness. Your weapons can barely touch me, Izoze, and compared to the might of Irrisen, I am nothing."

"Ha, you know nothing. The Winter Portal will pour forth the power of Irrisen and you will be crushed beneath it."

GM:

So, I have a weird idea: I'd like to fling the bearskin rug at him like a makeshift net, so I can get him down to my level. How would you like to handle that, or is it even possible?

Fang:
I would say it is an improvised net, and probably can't be properly folded like a prepared net would be. Love the idea.

I’m not sure that quite worked. Maybe the net should have the extra penalty for not being folded, but I’m going to say the bluffs lulled it into complacency and it is both flat footed and touch. Rule of cool says catching a mephit with a bear skin is awesome.

The creature is intrigued by the talk of surrender from the warm bloods, gradually flying closer and closer, losing her wariness. As she swoops in low, Fang unfurls the skin with a practiced hand of a cloak fighter. The gargoyle is subsumed by the pelt and encircled as Fang wrestles it to the snowy ground.

This was not Johnson's experience with combat. He was used to defending a position, aiming a rifle behind barricades. He could be brilliant with booby traps and a good forward scout. But he hadn't fought in melee since training, back in 1893. Therefore, what he believed to be an articular lever to block the creature turned out to be little more than squeezing the paw of the bear pelt.

Jazz, we're trying to capture it, not kill it.

Jazz is taking a chance that he won't outright kill it in one strike. The final blow can be nonlethal.

Jazz connects with the creature, its icy flesh crackling within the bear pelt.

With Naajy's help, Fang further entangles the creature in his arms and the pelt.

Almost like a cat, the ice gargoyle claws at Fang.
