Rammellorn wrote:
Am I too late? I'd like to submit Rammellorn.

Not too late at all. Thanks for the submission.

Rammellorn:
Good job. A Pally could provide some interesting RP. You begin at 2nd level full HP for each level, thereafter you roll for HP and reroll 1's. A couple questions where are you putting you +1 Fav class bonus (HP or Skills?); and can you provide me the number of that you put in each skill, so I don't have to recreate it. You, also, have one too many traits it's a 1 APG trait game. Thanks

** spoiler omitted **

Will fix right away. Thank you.

A reminder to all that every character gets the innate ability to heal themselves 1d4+1 HP, 2/day, as a standard action. I've seen this boon on few sheets and did not want folks to miss it.

reply to DM:
Argrim respects all dwarven dieties like a pantheon and chose Magrim as patron. Pre-review, he was neutral, but I've changed him to Lawful Neutral. I've also added an Advancement section to show you my character plan. It's far from a pure rogue build, so you may not like it. I've included my reasoning FWIW.

I plan to add the Taskmaster/Underworld aspect of Magrim and his remembered monk training to his background, but I need to exercise my 3 and 5 year olds outside. Gotta go. Cheers!

DM:

Money is spent. Trait is Armored Expert. Skills have been spoilered with favored class bonus being +1 skill point. Adding your houserule boon after this post. Deity is Torag. Should be good. Thanks for your consideration.

Thanks. Back in a few hours.

DM Reply:

Feats have been adjusted. I have a total of six skill points, and 2 went into perception and 1 went into each of my other skills: Climb, history, engineering, dungeoneering. Technically my skill bonus in History should be a +2, but as a dwarf I have a +2 if the history applies to Dwarven Culture via my Lorekeeper racial trait. I have also added the self-heal ability to my character sheet. I have included a short background, but I plan to work up a more detailed one if I am selected.

On the topic of posting, I am frequently on the boards and I consistently post on each of my other pbp's. Two posts a day is possible, with more depending on my work. That said, I do travel occasionally and it could affect my posting. I honestly don't think it would, but I felt I should give you a heads up.

Short Background:

Born among the Dwarven Togaard clan of Kraggodan, high in the southern Mindspin Mountains, Varl came from a family of moderate means. His father Tamir was a priest of Abadar and the keeper of the clan’s histories. While all of Varl's brothers went to work in the mines, searching deeper and deeper in the earth for Mithril and gems, Varl felt his calling pulling him in another direction. As a boy, Varl would sit enraptured as his father would recount the tales of his people’s history. As Varl grew from a boy into a man, he tried taking up the calling of a Lorekeeper, but he found his attention wavering. It was then that he made a decision. Rather than being a keeper of his people’s history, he would be a seeker of it instead.

For the last three years, Varl has begun to follow rumors of a hidden stronghold of dwarven knowledge, lying within the whispered ruins of Rappan Athuk. Varl knows that a former expedition lead by his grandfather disappeared somewhere in the region and despite the dangers; he’s unable to let the idea of some untouched artifact from his people’s go undiscovered, and if he was able to find the remains of his grandfathers lost expedition, then all the better.

Sovereign Court

Well, I thought I'd made my submission, but apparently, the forum monster was hungry for posts again...

As I won't be able to re-write it before this evening, go ahead and withdraw me from consideration.

Good luck to those in the running.

Sczarni

Modifying Karnog slightly.

Craftsmen will replace Greed. That's it though.

Noted self healing boon as well.

Was going to follow asmodeus if you weren't against evil gods. I could change to follow a lawful neutral god also. Yea I will eventually take assassin levels if I am chosen and live long enough :p

Looks like a fun run. Here is my Magus. Pathfinder has such fun classes, I'd like to try them all out.

Reinhart

MethodD thanks for submitting your character but magus are prohibited.

Background:
Kuduro was born to Keleshite immigrants from Quidra in Andoran. Raised with a strong sense of freedom and empowerment to accomplish anything she puts her mind to. Her parents were very active in the small church of Sarenrae in their area, and Kuduro grew strong in her faith at a very young age. With her Andoran upbringing and her ways of Sarenrae, Kuduro believes in freedom and repentance, but she also believes in fire. To those who repent the hand that burns quickly becomes the hand that heals. Helping to offer cultists of Orcus a chance to repent would be a worthy undertaking for her.

Kuduro I'll review the character for consideration. Thanks for applying.

Liberty's Edge

@balwin - Thanks. Added a short background as well.

thanks

Thank you.

No Problem.

Would like to play a savage masked barbarian then.

Tyr

This was a difficult decision; each application was outstanding and rightfully could have been selected. I’ve decided to go with 7 people rather than 6, and I mulled over going with 8. Those selected check in the discussion thread. The following 7 are selected.

Melee
Celeador aka Varl Togard, dwarf unbreakable fighter
Rammellorn, dwarf, Paladin

Hybrid
Rehar aka Nibbfir Grumepgarth, Gnome bard/Archaeologist

Arcane Spellcaster
Digger Chandler aka Kalim Gudluvaletti- human, aberrant-blooded sorcerer

Divine Spellcaster
Vateelda Lateef- Human spellscar oracle
Karnog Kegmeister - Dwarf, cleric, LG

Rogue
Argrim - dwarf

I'm slightly confused.

I see you are running a larger party, but not who was selected.

PMs sent to those chosen, or did I miss something?

Kuduro al-Lazuri -I liked your build. I ran your character through Herolab, but unfortunately, I have room for only two divine casters. Thanks for applying, good gaming to you.

The one's listed were selected.

Ah.

Thanks, posting from phone, so its a little wonky from time to time.

No problem, have a great game guys!

*Sigh.

Have fun everybody!

I'm opening the recruitment for an arcane caster only. See the first page for build requirements. There is a change though: the group composition is primarily good, so keep that in mind. I'm not looking for party conflict. Second, because of the party make up, I'm not going to have drow or goblin, we have 4 dwarfs in the party. This will be a short recruitment. Thanks.

I will update this character tonight for consideration.

Ok, thanks Brelar

Dang, who appreciates short jokes like I do!?

I was originally making an Elf, but didn't make the deadline. Could finish him up...

Transmutation/Enhancement (no, he's not sending out those emails!)

Or I have this Dwarf Wizard if you need a fifth (no pun!).

Illusion/Shadow, have to tweak stats to comply with the "10" rule. Shouldn't take much.

Not sure if you consider a Bard to be a good enough arcane caster for your game, but here is my character.
I originally made this character for a RotRL campaign but didn't get picked.

Unfortunately I have to pick my brother up shortly and he is 5ish hours away so I wont be able to update this character until tomorrow morning at 9ish (GMT-8) so I understand if you just want to skip over me. I'll level him up and get a bit more gear tomorrow. As well as fix up the backstory to fit in better with the setting.

Weekday I can post regularly from 9-5, and at least once at night. Weekends are a bit tighter and I can for sure post once in the morning and in the evening as well, midday is very iffy though. Saturday is a bit freer than Sunday though.

Jaevin we already have a bard, and that's a great secondary arcane caster, but they will require a full arcane caster.

In what category falls the witch then?

I thought it was a full arcane caster...

Anyway, I may have not a deep understanding of Pathfinder or the optimization standards.

Brelar has been updated for consideration. Thanks!

Brelar and Blackflame/Aeleanir right now the group has 7 players and everyone is contributing, I may add an 8th, let me see how the campaign goes the next few days. Thanks

I'm reopening recruitment for one player. This game is already 15 months old, and the other game that I DM is 2 years old. Barring some sort of emergency I'm not going anywhere; so, you can expect consistent posting. If you think you can't make a long term commitment, or post consistently, please don't apply. This is a fun laid-back game.

The party consists of:

rogue, human, (Scout two weapon fighting)
pally, human (Abadar)
sorcerer, human (Aberrent-Blooded)
cleric, dwarf (Torag)
fighter, dwarf

Preference will be given to balanced characters. You will begin at 7th level and wealth. Look under the first post in this recruitment thread for the build requirements and limitations. One thing that I ask is that you show how you get to your ability and skills totals. I don't want to have to deconstruct those numbers.

Don't bother with much more than a sentence, or two, of backstory. You will be meeting up with the party at a town that I created for the campaign. (I've added a lot of original content to the game.) You will be getting retained as a cartographer by one of the main NPC's. It's enough that you want to risk your life in the famed Rappan Athuk Dungeon.

Dotting interest

Every character gets a few DM boons:

Bonus Gear
A handy haversack
Light, secondary armor, Masterwork so you are not unprotected at night.
(3 )CLW potions each (1d8+3)
(2) CMW potion (2d8+6)
potion of magic weapon (1)
vial anti-toxin (1)
Everfull Mug (3/day 12 ounces of fine beer or wine)
Compass
Blank Map book (roll d2, 1 =waterproof, 2=non-waterproof)
Scrivener’s kit
silk 50 ft.(1)
Grapple hook or grapple arrow/bolt (1)
bandolier (1)
Candles (5)

Skill boon:

2/2 Skill points* bonuses to be used in one of the following pairs of skills (this does not make it a class skill):

A. profession –cartographer/Know – geography; or
B. profession – guide/Know-nature.

*This means you get 2 skill pts in cartography and 2 skill pts in geography: or 2 skill pts in guide and 2 skill pts in nature.

The skill bonus is a mechanism to have the party have common interest/employer and for roleplay. Plus, those are useful skill in this campaign which players may otherwise not take.

I would submit Felicitas Sweetfingers. Bard and Cartographer extraordinaer.
There will be a few changes, no worries.

Felicitas thanks for posting.

I'm going to be offline for couple hours but will check back in later to answer any questions.

Sovereign Court

The forums beat me last time, but this time - a year later - I might have my second chance! It's good to see players and GM able to have a long game together on the forums. I'm in two long-running ones right now, and I would happily throw my hat in the ring (again) for your adventure.

I will give the original post a gaze and edit my entry here with appropriate information.

Sovereign Court

Posting time expired - sorry for the double post:

Likely it is I would want to submit a half-elf monk to delve the depths of the dungeon!

An aspiring student seeking to prove his worth to his instructor, no task was too arduous, no challenge too great. Yet the request of the famed abyss in the North gave him pause. The prestige tempted him overmuch though ... pride was a downfall of his, even though he struggled to contain it as taught. And so it was with the townsfolk's blessing and the lure of completion of his training and path to glory, he set out to discover the mysteries of the place - and ... visit ... with its denizens.

Mechanically, I'm looking at either a flowing monk or master of many styles. The idea is to get a lighter character in there that isn't all about damage (as it seems you have that covered) and focuses more on utility. My understanding is range is actually a bit of an impairment in the underground here, so other than a magus - which I felt would fit best but is expressly forbidden on the front post! - a monk seems to work best.

If the basic concept seems workable, I could whip up the crunch for you.

@Stratos

Range combatants are at a potential disadvantage in RA. The twists and turns of the tunnels and caverns could prevent LOS. There are open spaces, but the player may not enjoy that impairment. That being stated the group just came out an encounter where I peppered them with arrows.

As far as a monk is concerned that's fine.

We did loss an oracle (the player that would be replaced) and a bard (previously). A secondary caster like a bard or a oracle has it's support advantages for the party.

A bard, oo thats me right ... ;-)

Felicitas:

question:

Where is the familiar coming from? Was that left over form a revamped character?

Answer:
Nope. As a traveling cartagropher Felicitas has aquired a familiar to help her with her work. Eldritch heritage(arcane) gives me an arcane bond, improved familiar a fairy dragon. You said UM was allowed.
And no Felicitas is a brand new character, named after my soon to be born daughter. And I picked the best familiar a baby could want ;-)

Felicitas is not about Damage or controlling the battlefield. She is about improving others and filling niches. She has many scrolls and wands to support, and a whip for the aid another trick.

Arcane heritage dm

I missed that on the character sheet.

Felicitas:
congrats on the soon to be daughter.

I saw the partially charged wands - I actually prefer partially charge items.

FYI:

Grungsdi is one of the players in the game.
