Grung your a bit timid walking around the edge of the water in your full plate armor, so you don't get a good look at what lays beneath the surface. Although you do notice that it's a bit humid as you approach the pool, clearly a sign of warm water spring.

Dying:

On the character's next turn, after being reduced to negative hit points (but not dead), and on all subsequent turns, the character must make a DC 10 Constitution check to become stable. Grung after about 20 minutes of digging you get down about 2 and half feet using your makeshift shovel, when you hit the top of something. The sound is tinny. After another few minutes minutes you have brushed away the dirt and loosened the packed dirt away form what is box of some sort. There is some sort of script or markings etched into the lid.
