The leader's voice barks out "Halt....no attack....no attack yous dimnuts….it's God Karnog and Prince Kal'm." With that the goblisn take a defensive position just in case it's a trick.

Then in broken common a reply, "Mother near...Meath'd..." His voice drifts when he mentions the Tribal Leader.


When Desmond jests it breaks the tension with the orcs and goblins. they nod and ease their weapons down. "You misfit...like us! That's what Moth'r calls us ...guud misfits." The big orcs laughs s he thumbs his chest.


Without warning everyone draws a weapon when they notice the drow. "Who he?" One shouts, "Not going back...slaver...bounty hunt'r....no go!" Clearly everyone is concerned with Nym's presence. Tension spikes.


The guard at gate scrunches his brow, "Missun hunters...no come back, go long time."

Three other orcs gather around as you move inside the gate. They've heard of you but not seen the legends known as Kalim and Karnog. "Fathers of the City". Then suddenly another 8 goblins appear out of nowhere. Goblins are new here.

"Fuud...guud." The orc looks at one of the goblins. "goblun go git Meath'd."

It's still a bit unsettling seeing "non-violent orcs and now goblins" living in a community.

Once inside you can see they have an agri-business going: some limited crops and farm animals. Being the first year of the community this is impressive. There are signs of other trade occurring in the town.


Felicitas do you have the ability or spell prepared/scroll to speak undercommon? If you don't have undercommon, I see you speak orcish and abysal so those may help out.

One the orc sneers after it speaks in undercommon.

Aurora scouting from above let Felicitas know, Trading caravan by the looks of it.


One points to the broken tusk and grunts in broken common to girl's question, "Smart." He grins with both of yellow stained tusk. The three half-orcs puff their chests a bit when they notice Ptahh, the hilts of their falchions look well used. He steps away from the door to let the group enter.


Previously with the orcs and kalim's speach.

Several orcs listen intently, others have a glazed look on their faces, but to an orc they all remain still and quite while Kalim speaks. When he is finished speaking the orc that speaks broken common tries to translate to the the others.


A female orc with a half tusk tries to get friendly with Desmond, speaking in what would be gibberish to scout, he can only assume what she is offering him. Something about skins, a goat and furs.


The orc children surround Kalim and his sack full of toys, items they have rarely seen but the most hearting fact is the how the orcs are. Of course it helps that there is no shortage of toys, thus no conflict between the kids.


The orcs begin to form work parties, they makes sure every useful piece of cloth are stripped from the bodies, and they carry the corpses outside where directed. Piling the dead. There are a few tears but the orcs adjust quickly to their new leaders commands. They regard Karnog with awe, but respect the might of Karnog's followers.


One lady steps forward, "Eye und'sstand common guud." Karnog her speech is broken, but she appears to understand simple common well enough. The orc directs other to gather buckets and vessels. they are cautious but comply.

Their eyes widen with the creation of clean water several are suspicious but a few drink it and smile. The healing channel takes them all by surprise; at first, they don't know why their wound are toughing, and knitting back together, but then several begin to bow down to Karnog.

"Great sha'man," the orc reverently bestows upon Karnog. The orcs begin praying to Karnog.


If you're not hostile towards the women and children they will be no problem to you. If permitted several will walk over to Daarnog and kick him. A few others will do the same to some of the dead orcs. The group will gladly vacate if ordered to but prefer to stay put. They gather their tattered belongs and the few coppers they have.

They will point to the two rooms and one speaks broken common. "Rooms fer bosses. 'Ware his chest...nasty trap." She points towards Daarnog room.

The guard drops his weapon and raises his hands over his head...yelling something in orcish. karnog's comprehend language is still effective for him so he understands "I surrender...surrender."


RD 11: Cleric

The cleric continues with his spiritual weapon to attack Vatilda.

It slices the oracle. I need to look at all the damage she has taken, she may be down. I know the sickle has done 20 HP of damage so far.

Upon seeing Daarog fall, the cleric uses his standard action to move back to the trench to flee. He barks orders to his guard to retreat with the plank.


RD 10: Daarog

He continues to press his attack on Grung as he jabs his short spear at Grung.

He misses.


RD 10: Cleric

The cleric continues with his spiritual weapon to attack Vatilda.

He casts cure moderate wounds on himself,

Kalim's acid splashes over the cleric and he looks wobbly on his feet for a slit second, his brutish orcish blood keeps him standing.


RD 9:

The last archer is using his falchion which is uses to attack Malcolm.

att: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14;damage: 2d4 + 5 ⇒ (3, 4) + 5 = 12

Missing the warrior.

RD 9 Cleric guard

he rushes forward with the plank and places it across the trench.


RD 9: Daarog

The orc leader sprouts like a giant weed as he enlarges. His thick chord-like muscles begin to fill with angry rage as the barbarian loses control. He moves up to meet the invaders and is whacked by Grung. I used you roll for the AOO The furious orc barely notices the injury.

He jabs his short spear at Grung.

The spearhead pierces the enlarged dwarf as titan meets titan.

Daarog is enlarged and raging.

Cleric: RD 9

The cleric continues with his spiritual weapon to attack Vatilda.

He moves forward and his creeping aura of doom hits everyone, -1 att/dam/skills/saves

The cleric sends out a sickly glow of green light at surrounds Grung, as he mumble a foul spell.

RD 8: Archer

Malcolm crosses the plank and prepares to scale the earthen fortification. Kalim's acid splash hit the orc archer sending the beast to meet his maker - finally.

Meanwhile, the orc who previously broke his bowstring steps forward five drawing his falchion. He tries to jab at Malcolm {ooc]+4 cover for hunkering down[/ooc]

RD 8: Daarog:

The big burly orc barking commands drinks potion and tossed the vial to the ground, he growls in orcish.

This brutish greenish grey orc is wearing a quality looking chain shirt, with an equally nice heavy steel shield. He has on a deadly looking spiked gauntlet on but his fingers grasp a fine looking shortspear.


RD 8: Cleric

The cleric crosses the wooden plank (std action) and sends his spiritual weapon to attack Vatilda.

Move action:
sickle spir. weapon: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28;dam: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

His creeping aura of doom hits everyone, but Grung who straddles the trench and out of the radius.

Prayer = -1 att/dam, saves, skill checks to all enemies.


RD 7: cleric's guards

The enlarged orc is frozen in place but the other puts his plank down for and crosses to the other side.


RD 7: Archers

The archers continue to shot at Grung and Karnog. Each archer is moves back out of enlarged dwarf's reach.

Grung:
comp, pt blank, precise: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 1 = 10;damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Karnog:

The arrows are wide.

One string snaps when released. This orc drops his bow and begins to pull out his falchion.


RD 5: Cleric's guards

The smaller orc holds the plank for crossing the trench as commanded. He doe not put it across, instead he lets his cohort swing with his reach to attack Desmond.

Enlarged Orc:

RD 5: yellow falchion orcs

These arcs are either down or incapacitated.


RD 5: Archers

The archers shoot at Karnog and Grung:

Grung the cleric goes before you.

RD 5: Cleric

As Des moves up to meet the rear attack he positions himself. One the clerics guard's grows in size very similarly to what happened to Grung. The spell was cast the previous round.

The cleric looks over the scene, barks an order in orc, then chants a war anthem. As he focuses on the large dwarf.

searing light, RTA, prayer, bless: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 21;damage: 4d8 ⇒ (4, 2, 1, 4) = 11

RD 4: Melee Orcs

Oops I thought murderous command lasted a RD per level, it's only a 1 Rd duration.

Both orcs focus on Karnog this time.

RD 4: Archers

The archers step back and turn their attention towards the large dwarf, Talk about a contradictory statement

RD 3: Yellow Orcs with flachions

One steps up to meet Malcolm, while the second orc unexpectedly hacks at the back of one the archer pinged by Grung's stone.

The archers step back 5 ft to avoid AOO from Malcolm.
One fires at Malcolm,

I believe the arrow hits.

An arrow pierces Malcolm's armor.

RD 2 Yellow Orcs with flachions

One gets ready to meet the challenge of the crossing invaders, while the second orc unexpectedly hacks at the back of one the archer pinged by Grung's stone.

RD 2 Orc Archers

The three archers take aim with their short bows:

One fires at Karnog,

The stoic dwarf's total defense shell his up and the nearly perfectly aimed arrow breaks on impact.

Another fires at Malcolm,

The last fires at Vatilda

RD 1: Orcs

Three orcs behind the earthen embankment take aim with their short bows:

These archers, although skilled, are off their marks.


The orcs snarl as Grung's stone clanks harmlessly away. The authoritative sound of orders are given. The shortbows take aim.


I'm going to assume Grung helped and lends you a bonus to the tug.

The startled orc is yanked forward and tumbles into the trench with a loud cry.


The bolt crashes into the orc with the bow. He growls with fury focusing his blood red eyes on the spellcaster.


RD 4:

The remaining two orcs continue on:

The lassoed orc tries to escape.

The remaining orc fires at Karnog who is holding the rope:

He is so close the back of others his string snaps.

Another orc coming up from the rear sees what his comrade did and shoots at him with his bow.

Leaving the last two orcs to fire at the invaders,

There are orcs on the other side of the trench and they seem to be loading crossbows and bows while you all get acquainted.


RD 4 yellow orcs

The orc in M 17 hacks at Desmond,

The orc by the arch drops his crossbow and pulls his flacion and hacks at vatilda.

Another shortens his spear and attacks karnog

RE 4: Blue Orcs

The one in L19 takes a 5 ft step to M 18 and slashes at Des,

The one steps K, 18 moves up to K 15 and slashes at Malcolm, who is prone:.

The spear protrudes from the arrow slit and jabs out at karnog,

Grung the door is not trapped and it opens inward quite smoothly from your location, apparently the builder knew his craft. Your eyes widen as you see 6 orcs mulling around in various stages of light activity. Several are eating mutton chops , two are sharping their falchions and one is staring is surprise directly at you.

In Orc...
"W..w...Wha...Dwarf!" he instinctively pulls his falchion from its sheath.

Desmond you hear a sudden guttural cry and lots of movement from the right side of the wall.
