You head south and reach a small cove. High cliffs surround the deep cove churning with dark seawater. The height of the cliff ranges from 40 to 80 feet above the water.
Kn: Geography if you have it
Rene Duquesnoy
|
Jothas peers over the edge of the cove and realizes that the dark color of the water indicates that there are no rocks in the water.
Cannonballs are okay!
Rene Duquesnoy
|
Upon further review, you also notice a small opening by the water. It appears to go into a cave of some sort. You know grindylows are aquatic, and live in the water.
Jothas Bate
|
"There is a cave down there. I think that's a better shot than swimming around blindly looking for something to fight. Water looks safe to jump, though we could also just lower a rope. "
Johendar Celestrum
|
Johender pulls out the two wands he acquired before setting out. I can use the wand of air bubble, but someone else will need to use the touch of the sea wand.
Johendar Celestrum
|
Johender shrugs. Here goes nothing. Moving to the least dangerous point, the man dives into the pool.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Leaping from the cliff, he makes a decent amount of splash as he enters the water.
How many charges expended? 7 each?
Jothas Bate
|
Jothas will jump down as well, but with boots of the cat, it is appreciably more graceful than one might expect him to do in heavy armor. He drops in feet first and starts swimming towards the cave.
Rene Duquesnoy
|
Jothas and Johendar do a tandem cannonball into the water.
Jothas' acrobatics check 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (19) - 4 = 15
Johendar does a bit of a belly flop for 2d3 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3 nonlethal, while Jothas splashes in well enough not to take any damage.
Perception checks please.
Rene Duquesnoy
|
Those who didn't get a DC 15 acro check take 2d3 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2 nonlethal belly flop damage.
You are now in the water. When you look around, you see a small ledge and hole about halfway up the other side. Out comes 8 stirges!!!
The stirges are tiny, but for some reason i can't make them smaller on roll20
Inits!
Jothas: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Johendar: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Linark: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (6) + 0 = 6
Talfryn: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Twigg: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Lini: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Droogami: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Stirge: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

The stirges are in the air I assume.
Johender closes his eyes then points toward the middle of the stirge flock as sparkles fill the air!
Use SLA ability- Glitterdust, DC 15 centered on thge center stirge.
Rene Duquesnoy
|
Correct, the appear from the hole in the side of the wall
A flash of sparkly light appears on the pack of stirges.
stirge1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
stirge2: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
stirge3: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
stirge4: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
stirge5: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
stirge6: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
stirge7: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
stirge8: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

So if they are in the air, they aren't underwater right, so no penalty for a ranged weapon?
Talfryn takes aim at one of the stirges, loads his gun and fires.
Pistol: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 5 - 2 = 13 I'm counting 35 feet, if they are higher then 5 feet it'd be another -2
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Shooting at #8
Rene Duquesnoy

Talfryn misses the stirge.
Putting lini on delay
The stirges come flying in and try to attach themselves.
Touch attack
Stirge 5 on Linark
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Stirge 6 on Twigg
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Stirge 7 on Talfryn
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
If any stirge is able to attach themselves, you take 1 con damage.

One of the Stirges manage to attach itself to the paladin, finding a spot between the armor plates to suck some blood. Linark tries desperately to kill the creature before it have a chance to such more blood, even if it cuts him a little in the process.
Nodachi: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20! Are we grappled? Damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Rene Duquesnoy
|
Jothas cooks up Stirge Stew pretty easily.
Yep. Grappled
Linark adds a fresh stirge to the pot.
1 left.

since you have a swim speed, you don't need to roll a check
There are 2 ways to go (see map)
