Annak Malvari |
Yes i think so. I think that is who Syldran crushed.
Annak steps forward with her longbow and arrow at the ready.
"What about the horses?"
no sense hexing him as he is laughing uncontrollably
Lillith Frostmourne |
She readies her weapon to attack the captain if needed.
Ready attack. To attack the moment the spells wares off. 2 more rounds

Delilah Vae |
"S#**, you're right! We can't let the godsdamned horses get back to town without their riders!"
Delilah turns and casts Speak with Animals.
"Horses! You are free! Let us remove your saddles and other human trappings and you can return to the freedom of the wild! Go anywhere but back to town, for you shall surely be captured again if you return there!"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26
Delilah's zombie steps back and stabs at the last remaining soldier (if it's still alive).
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Bracnos |
Branos runs forward his skins splits and cracks as the demon withing is called forward. He runs at the captain and attempts to gore the captain with the newly grown horns
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
gore: 3d6 + 8 ⇒ (4, 4, 4) + 8 = 20
Delilah Vae |
Bracnos, did you factor in the +4 for melee attacking a prone target? I mean, you probably hit anyway, but I just wanted to check.
Bracnos |
Oh no i did not lol the bonus was just since my str is 26 so a +8 when enlarged and rage and my bab is +4 -1 or large size...oh looks like i gave my self 1 less than i should have lol so with the +4 for him prone thats a 29...i think i hit ^_^

All of the soldiers are dead, killed off by the party or by the summoned undead. Bracnos gores the Captain who tries to defend himself effectively but still laughs hysterically.
Combat is over, what do you want to do with the Captain? The spell will wear off, he is bleeding and surrounded. You could tie him up before the spell wears off. Or kill him. The horses scatter around the immediate area save for the Captains warhorse who stays nearby.
Wade Willhelm v2 |
Wade gets out some rope, tiring him up firmly, and says "you will tell us about all the other patrols, or you will die... Slowly, I have a month to kill, and I might as well have a hobby in the meantime"intimidate: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
"Perhaps I could simply dominate your mind and get the information that way, have a snack while I do it, but that would be boring for me, I could always do it should you hold out for a month..."
qwerty71 |
He manages to speak a chopped up sentence as the laughter finished running the course of the spell..."My name...is...Captain Ryan...Varning...and I ...yield."
Wade Willhelm v2 |
Wade glares as fiercely as he can at the idiot fighter what was that supposed to accomplish really?
He then turns back to the captain "ignore him, how many men are found within the guard house, when and where are the other patrols"
Razul Tarym |
And you wonder why we said what we said about you. You think it is OK to insult others, but when they call you out on your own stupidity, you throw a hissy fit. And, once again, if I'm an idiot, then you must be a moron as my character is actually smarter than yours.
qwerty71 |
Once the spell wears off Varning quickly tests his bonds and says.."I will not bend to your questions so easily. What interest do you have in the fortress you common bandits?"
Wade Willhelm v2 |
"would "common bandits" be able to dispatch one of your patrols in under five minutes, with narry a scratch on them? If so that would make our jobs easier," he says in a condescending tone. "as to the fortress, you can generally assume from what you should have already said and done that we want either something inside the fort, or the fort itself, do try to keep up." He then pauses, pulling out a branding iron and a tindertwig "another thing you seem to have missed is that not only are each of us much stronger than you, but you are alone, unarmed and bound, you aren't in a very strong position to be asking questions, and making demands... Still, I suppose diplomacy and common sense have failed on you, that just means we get to do this the fun way!" He exclaims with manic glee. He then turns to Delilah and hands her the tindertwig, "if you would be so kind as to start a fire for our guest, he looks cold, we should warm him up..."
Bracnos |
so I'm still large size since I can be found 4 mins
Banks looks at the captain and slams his massive fist on the ground right next to his feet "speak now or I will begin with the legs and feed them to you ... "
intim: 1d20 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 9 + 4 = 33 yah look at that roll *_*
Syldran |
After the combat comes to an end, Syldran will let the party deal with the last man. He lazily heads to one of the nearby trees and leans against it, surveying the scene with a glint in his eyes.
Delilah Vae |
Delilah busies herself with lighting the fire, then has her zombie pet drag the corpses of the soldiers to the fire. Once all have been gather on the makeshift pyre, she instructs the zombie to stand in the fire as well.
"It will be nice to one day have a minion that I don't have to dispose of immediately."
She sighs and stretches before looking over at Wade.
"Have fun with your interrogation, darling. Just don't forget that we don't have the time to draw it out. I need my beauty sleep if I'm going to be helping Mama Guiseppe feed the soldiers, and I've got to do well enough to be invited back for the next four weeks."
She turns and approaches Syldran, leaning against a tree opposite him.
"Were you able to come up with a source for a decent poison, dear?"
Wade Willhelm v2 |
Wade suggests her to belay the order to dispose of itself, saying "perhaps you could tell it to hide itself in the forest, or even dig a hole and burry itself to be collected later"
qwerty71 |
The officer is intimidated by the large Orc and manages to stammer out in a brave but shaken voice "Ransom me back to the fortress if you must. You ambushed us like cowards. I have no answers for you." You sense he is trying to be brave in appearance but is quite concerned for his safety.
Wade Willhelm v2 |
"I think it would send a better message if we were to rip your soul from it's proper resting place and force you to attack your fellow comrades, but I think I might just let my friend here eat you instead, I don't think you need to be dead for him to do that."
Syldran |
"Well, it's about time I can be of some use."
He gives her a cheeky smirk before looking away, the side of his hood almost completely eclipsing his face.
"We have 2 options for poison. Buying a rather suspicious amount of rat poison from the local alchemist, which is commonly mistaken as cholera, or we swipe some Wolfsbane from the Magister, which is a much more potent poison, but it does leave quite the black mark."
He sticks out and points to his tongue.
Annak Malvari |
Annak calmly walks up to the bound prisoner and speaks in a sweet voice as if old friends..."Please Lord Varning, tell this nice gentleman what he wants to know."
Annak Hexs him with her Bouda Hex DC15 WIL to penalize him on his saving throws and then Annak casts Hypnotism on him...DC14 WIL to resist.
While the subject is fascinated by this spell, it reacts as though it were two steps more friendly in attitude. This allows you to make a single request of the affected creature (provided you can communicate with it). The request must be brief and reasonable. Even after the spell ends, the creature retains its new attitude toward you, but only with respect to that particular request.
Hypnotism HD: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7
Delilah Vae |
Delilah frowns.
"As much as I'd prefer the Wolfsbane, we don't want to alert anybody to our presence. Rat poison, it is. I'll schmooze the merchant, maybe play the 'damsel in distress' card. Thanks, Syldran."
qwerty71 |
Varning tries to resist the Hex placed upon him..WIL: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 and he fails so he is -2 to saves for 6 rounds
with the hex and his intimidated conditions he will fail the hypnotism spell save. he will answer your questions for 2d4 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7 rounds or 1 round per question...
Annak Malvari |
Annak starts rattling off things that would be important for the mission to Wade; number of troops, special defenders, powerful casters, hidden traps, treasury location, armory location...
Wade Willhelm v2 |
Wade nods at annak's suggestions and speaks "tell me everything you know about 1 what is the standard response for a patrol or several going missing, presumed dead. 2how many troops are or can be mustered up in the general area of the town or fort, 3What magic does the town or military have access to,4 where are weapons and money stored, 5 what other defenses are there, 6 what are the other patrols... Anybody else think of any questions"
Bracnos |
Bracnos tells wade " ask about the gate controls how best to destroy them or any hidden passage we can use to gain entry..."
qwerty71 |
The captive begins to answer the questions posed to him...
"1- The fortress will send another patrol out to look for us after 5 days time. If that patrol does not find us, then an alert will be sent to higher.
2- The garrison is just under 100 men, I do not know the actual number, that is not my area of concern. The town can muster a militia in the 30's I think.
3-There are some minor acolytes and casters, but Father Donnagin is an experienced holy man and healer and the Magister is powerful. I have seen him shoot fire and ice. I stay away from such persons.
4-The armoury is at the base of the tower. I do not know where the treasury is kept, i do know there is some sort of religious treasure the Father keeps in the choir area.
5-The fortress is well prepared for a seige, you will not take it in that manner.
6-There is no other need of defense or patrols. The fortress is impregnable and the lands are generally quiet.
7-There is an outer gatehouse with a drawbridge and a portcullis. Archer holes dot the area surrounding those entry points so it will be your own undoing to try breaching there.
I have answered your infernal questions. I demand you release me at once!"
Wade Willhelm v2 |
"very well released you shall be" he says slicing into the man with his blade killing him within seconds "a final release, as it were"
Delilah Vae |
"Well, that was informative. Let's all get together and do this again in five days, yeah?"
Delilah smirks and begins to walk back to town.
"Wish me luck with the soup tomorrow."
Annak Malvari |
Looking over the corpse and feeling satisfied, Annak asks the others, "Back to town yes? More destruction? Are we poisoning some people? How trustworthy is your contact Raz? I did see him talking to some town guards when we all went out searching for answers."
qwerty71 |
There are horses in the area that will cause people to wonder, especially a trained and expensive warhorse. Unless disposed of, the bodies will be discovered by local trappers, hunters, gatherers and that will notify the fortress. Just asking for clarification on how you plan to cover up your murderous deeds.
Lillith Frostmourne |
been a hectic few days. But promise to to more active again soon. But coming week out of town cause of work. So my replies will be slow

Bracnos |
Bracnos looks at the horses and licks his lips "well nothing taste better than horse with a side of self righteousness human ehehe lets gather them up and digest the evidence"
Delilah Vae |
Not Delilah. She's leaving the cleanup to everyone else and going back to base.
qwerty71 |
so the party disposes of the bodies and most likely the horses i take it, and then returns to their city safe house?
Bracnos |
yes
Bracnos |
what your druid is a vegetarian? It's cool if you are just...why kill man and not animal ^_^
Lillith Frostmourne |
wont kill or eat the horses
-Posted with Wayfinder
Wade Willhelm v2 |
will see if any of the horses look suitably generic and lack any distinctive markings and if there are any suitable will take the horse back with him. If not, will let the others eat/burn the horses
qwerty71 |
the warhorse used by the Captain is the only one distinctive enough for someone to recognize. The other horses have fortress branding on them that is usually concealed by the saddle.
qwerty71 |
The party returns to the town in waves of ones and twos so as not not seem suspicious and
1-Annak
2-Bracnos
3-Delilah
4-Lillith
5-Razul
6-Syldran
7- Wade
1d7 ⇒ 21d7 ⇒ 7
Bracnos and Wade happen to return to the town at the same time and are stopped by a city patrol for questioning.
need to know what you two are disguised as and if folks beat a Perception DC 15 they notice the city guards questioning them.
Wade Willhelm v2 |
a short, younger lookingman with shaggy, lightly spiked blond hair and a few scars on his face. Clothing would indicate that he wasn't wealthy but wasn't exactly a farmer either, probably a merchant, an apprentice or an entertainer.
disguise: 1d20 + 8 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 10 = 33
perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22
"Uh can I help you with anything officers?"
Lillith Frostmourne |
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

A squad of 6 town guards stop the two disguised Knot members. "Halt. We are doing searches for security purposes. Anyone not from around the area is checked." a middle aged man who appears to be in charge of the squad says to Wade. "Are you two together? Where are you heading?"
The men appear to be watching others walk by as the squad leader begins talking to the two disguised criminals. it is plainly clear the men are just following orders and not actively doing their job.
