Special Abilities

Combat Expertise -1/+2 Bonus to AC in exchange for an equal penalty to attack.
Dazzling Display (Ex) While wielding the weapon in which you have Weapon Focus, you can perform a bewildering show of prowess as a full-round action. Make an Intimidate check to demoralize all foes within 30 feet who can see your display.
Defensive Parry +1 When a swordlord makes a full attack with a dueling sword, he gains a +1 bonus to AC against melee attacks until the beginning of his next turn. This bonus increases by +1 every four levels after 3rd.
Dodge (Ex) You gain a +1 dodge bonus to your AC. A condition that makes you lose your Dex bonus to AC also makes you lose the benefits of this feat.
Evasion (Ex) If you succeed at a Reflex save for half damage, you take none instead.
Hurtful (Ex) When you successfully demoralize an opponent within your melee reach with an Intimidate check, you can make a single melee attack against that creature as a swift action. If your attack fails to damage the target, its shaken condition from being demoralized immediately ends.
Power Attack -2/+4 Take a penalty to attack rolls for a bonus to damage.
Sneak Attack +2d6 Attacks deal extra dam if flank foe or if foe is flat-footed.
Sword Scion You begin play with a longsword or dueling sword and gain a +1 trait bonus on all attacks and combat maneuvers made with such weapons.
Trapfinding +2 Gain a bonus to find or disable traps, including magical ones.
Uncanny Dodge (Ex) Starting at 4th level, a rogue can react to danger before his senses would normally allow him to do so. He cannot be caught flat-footed, nor does he lose his Dex bonus to AC if the attacker is invisible. He still loses his Dexterity bonus to AC if immobilized. A rogue with this ability can still lose his Dexterity bonus to AC if an opponent successfully uses the feint action (see Combat) against him.

background:
Razul has studied fencing techniques for years. The ban against dueling has grated against him for for all of that time. He has sought out less than savory characters from pirates to races from the underdark to perfect his techniques. He has also participated in whatever illicit combats he could. His disdain for what he views as the weak leadership of Talingrade has made him disrespectful of its laws. After all, it is only right that the strong should rule the weak. The idea that some dirt turning farmer has any equality to him is ludicrous! Unfortunately for Razul, his last duel resulted in the death of his opponent. Not expecting any type of officials to be present, he was surprised by guards as he was collecting his winnings. The ensuing fight ended with the death of a couple of the guards and unfortunately the near death of the captain of the guard who happened to be the son of the mayor. Not content to just charge him for dueling they added the murders and attempted murder of the noble as well.

The Escape:

Razul’s execution was just days away when the mysterious visitor came for one of his cellmates. When the cellmate, a charming rogue who claimed to have just missed a big con, came back he had acquired the means to escape. Evidently this benefactor wanted several of them to escape and meet him. The conman explained about some meeting at an old house through the swamps and Razul was careful to note the exact descriptions. Getting out of the cell proved easy enough, but then everything went wrong. First, Razul was not very impressed with either the intelligence or skill of his compatriots with the exception of the conman. The alarm was sounded almost immediately due to the unneeded brutality of two of the other prisoners. Not content to just escape they had to draw out each fight unnecessarily. Razul quickly grew irate and tried to get the conman to leave the others behind, but he would not leave the others. Sensing the impending doom, Razul waited for an opportune moment to separate himself from them. No sooner had he done so when the guard force showed up en masse. He watched shortly as the others were overwhelmed, then he made off. Unburdened now by inept comrades, Razul used the ensuing confusion to slip away. However, he had nothing and no place to turn. Perhaps this mysterious benefactor would be a good choice after all. Skulking off into the swamps, Razul made his way as best as he could remember. Hopefully he had remembered well.
