Des rears up on the big crab and let's loose a storm of bright colors and light. DC = 17.
When the big crab goes down, he pulls Kamunde away from dinner.

GM Pyros |

WIll: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Stunned and Blind for: 1d4 ⇒ 3rounds
The crab drops Kumunde and is unable to act, stunned by the bright lights. Desula approaches, preparing to drag kumunde out of danger.
Thoyoitu missed the crab so Crab 2 keeps attacking the Tengu
claw: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
for 1d3 ⇒ 3
claw: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
for 1d3 ⇒ 1 one hit for 1 damage
Rosalyn lands and tries to stab the stunned crab
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
piercing the creature and setting a flank for Pyre
It's the party's turn
Des, you are able to auto Drag Kumunde away.

Thoyoitu "The Tenguin" Choco-ku |

"That hurt, you crab! But the fire burns hot!" Attack Crab: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (2) - 4 = -2 But the pain in his arm from the the crab pinch make it hard to aim such an awkward weapon and he misses. "If someone could help your dear captain, I am rather injured and in a spot of bother!"

![]() |

After dragging the unconscious slaver behind the sentential like form of Ros (Move to point I4 on map). Des rears up to look up at Thoy, "But 'Captain' your cutting such a gallant form with all that posing and waving about. Surely you can give that crab what for. Let us handle these meager opponents, and we'll come bask in your glory.
Des gestures to the massive crab he ran up to engage with, but makes the effort to look out for Thoy; as soon as the big one falls.

Victor Rattus Adustus |

victor yells out
" I can't do no damage to the damned things. you're all too close to them for me to throw my bombs!"

Pyre Igneel |

Pyre steps up to the carb by him swinging his greatclub with all his might.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 - 1 - 1 = 7 Damage: 1d10 + 4 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 3 - 1 = 10
And probably misses

![]() |

We also have to figure out how to preserve it, salt would help or drying it out into a rancid fish jerky. probably need to forage for fruit. But the tiger with all its fearful symmetry is out in the wood.

GM Pyros |

Victor, I was going to move Pyre to that space so he could get the flank, do you want to get to the other side of him?
Pyre smashes his club down on the stunned crab, Rosalyn's spear pushing it into harms way. It is still up but stunned from the colorspray.
The aasimal then rushes the Crab on Thoyoitu flying to the ground and alighting and driving her spear at the creature.
Charge: 1d20 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 2 + 2 = 12
for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Nope, miss/no damage, but set Thoyoitu a flank
Desula drags kumunde a solid 10 ft from the Crab
Desula, I'm not sure of the rules for the moving unconcious foes, so i guess to determine how far you can drag (via the combat aneuver) you would roll. I'm going to assume you rolled a 10. If anyone can find any rulings about this let me know
The crab flees from the fire and attacks the flying thing
claw: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
for 1d3 ⇒ 2
claw: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
for 1d3 ⇒ 2
Ouch, ros takes a hit

Pyre Igneel |

Pyre, seeing the crab still moving, swings at it again.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 - 1 - 1 = 18 Damage: 1d10 + 4 - 1 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 4 - 1 + 3 = 7

![]() |

Des looks over the slavers broken body and does the only medical sound thing he can he prestidigitate the wounds clean. And tries to stabalize him as best he can.
Don't know how hurt he is, but can I get a bonus to a heal check.

Victor Rattus Adustus |

Victor winds up his arm.
"alright! Bombs away!"
bomb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Oh dear.
dmg: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

GM Pyros |

Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 Crab takes 2 fire after the save. not sure if the -2 AC from stunn and blind stacks, but when splash equals mimimum damage, it don't make much difference.
Ros stepped back and set a flank then she stabs the crab
spear: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 1 + 2 = 16
for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
the Giant crab is still stunned, but the smaller counterpart is finally skewered, pierced by a spot that pyre softened with his hit.
The party is up again. Kumunde does not appear to be bleeding out, but is still out cold.
Roll in whatever order you like, don't need to wait on others to post.
edit: victor can say he bombed before pyre approached, and if anyone uses a ranged attack, they can do that first too

Pyre Igneel |

Pyre steps up and swings at the crab again.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 - 1 - 1 = 4 Damage: 1d10 + 4 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 3 - 1 = 13
And misses really bad

![]() |

Seeing that Kumunde is looking semi-stable he stands up and flings a spark of lighting at the large crab.
Jolt: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
DMG: 1d3 ⇒ 2

GM Pyros |

Before Pyre appraoches, VIctor tosses a bomb at the Giant Crab
bomb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
1d6 ⇒ 3
which hits right in it's . . . face . . . area and explodes with unexpected force!
confirmation: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
and explodes with unexpected force!
That, in combination with it's previous wounds, and the electrical shocks delivered by Desula brings the creature to the ground. Taking a moment to take stock, there are 4 abnormally large crabs, and one that's nearly man-sized dead on the beach in various states of cooked. Once i get those checks i'll be able to tell you what you have in rations
You can use Survival/Wisdom to gather rations from the crabs
You can use Craft to cut the creatures apart and create some basic armor from their chitinous shells and with a good check, perhaps weapons from their claws!
Also, pop over to the discussion board for some exciting news!

As soon as the unusually large crab falls, Des quickly moves to the business of trying to gather the remaining seafood. He tries to think of ways to preserve the meat for an extended stay.
Survival: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Having only a vague idea, he beats himself up over his lack of knowledge of the task at hand. I wonder if that druid, Goandi, is still alive. He would be a lovely addition right about now. "Gentleman, who among you thinks you can save our meals for today. On a higher, note can we preserve them for a stock pile." Desula turns his head and looks at Victor, eyebrows arched.
Turning his attention to the large crab and his brethren...
Craft|Armor: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
"Pyre! How does a breastplate and shield sound? Maybe full-plate. Victor do you think you can help me alchemically harden these husks?"

Thoyoitu "The Tenguin" Choco-ku |

"Yes, we'll turn the large one into armor and turn the smaller ones into food. If there's any shell left over from the small ones after turning them into food, we could cut it up and sharpen it to make spear or arrow heads. Or hats. Hats would be nice."

GM Pyros |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Pyre Igneel |

Pyre looks over the dead crabs and makes sure his party isnt hurt to much. "These crabs look like good eating. I bet i could replace my greataxe with these. Is everyone alright?"

![]() |

"Quite fine barley even nicked. The Slaver though took a thrashing." Des walks over to Pyre and measures him a bit.
"Full Armor or Breastplate? Decide quickly so I can get started on weapons. Don't want us getting surprised by natives without gear."

Thoyoitu "The Tenguin" Choco-ku |

Thoyoitu works on processing the meat, Survival Untrained: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 "Des, please make me a dagger, will you? I think I need something better than a hefty torch, you know?"

![]() |

Des already at work chipping and cobbling the shell off the big crab. Doing his best trying to save the meat by scrapping it on to a broken sheet of metal they will be putting over the fire for BBQ. He turns to Toyoitu, "Wouldn't you prefer a scimitar, it'll be good at hacking through that jungle. Besides this place seem like they'll grow everything big. A dagger isn't going to be that helpful against that big cat. Besides I think we'll have plenty for daggers, axes and sickles.
The voice of him mother echos through his head as he scraps whatever morsels he can together. "Drow that fail, are dead drow and a blight on their family name. Never fail this family Desula, you carry my name and the Shadow's ambition.
Survival: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 1 - 2 = 16

Victor Rattus Adustus |

Victor reaches into his cage to fish for more bugs but he realises he has none left.
Out of bombs for the rest of the day.
"fiddlesticks. i'll have to search for more of those specimens tomorrow."

Pyre Igneel |

Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Pyre will builds a fire then spend his night crafting his new axe. At least getting it started.
Take 10 Craft: 10 + 2 = 12
