After spending the last of the light making weapons, grabs some more material for spells from the jungle. Having finished researched a few spells, he picked up the silvery wire that was part of his wrist launcher.
Remembering some of the Ogres meals...
Craft|BBQ: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
He makes a phenomenal meal for the meager spices that he could find in the jungle.
"Alright, I take last shift. Victor wake me a little before my turn so I can set up an alarm spell."

GM Pyros |

The group takes watch in the night
Sounds like Pyre takes the first watch, followed gy Thoyoitu, then Victor, Ros, and Desula.
.
Everyone Gets 3 wounds back if you lost any from Ros's channeling.
Thoyoitu's Percpetion: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
In the dark of the night, Thoyoitu sees something shimmering on the water. Upon closer inspection there appears to be a corpse drifting into shore with something tied to it. The body slowly moves closer, but the calm sea doesn't really serve to push it all the way to the sand.
What do you do?!?! the rest of the party is sleeping, and it's about 10:30, dark, but the stars are out and the moon is shining, so there is some light even as the fire is dimming.
The body is currently about 50 ft out and slowly drifting closer
6d20 ⇒ (2, 18, 20, 7, 5, 2) = 54

Victor Rattus Adustus |

Victor grabs a crab claw and some twine and sets them aside.Following that, he ducks into the jungle to grab a long stick and wrangles them together to make a makeshift spear.
craft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Later, during his shift, Victor shifts, uncomfortable in his coat and he strips. He brushes his salt covered fur and shakes his coat, making a note of find fresh water to wash up.
He grumbles quietly to himself.
"my crossbow and my alchemist kit... My only heirlooms of home. Both gone."
He stares into the night sky, poking the fire from time to time, and watches the forest and sea
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Thoyoitu "The Tenguin" Choco-ku |

Thoyoitu investigates the strange occurrence. 'cause GM wants me to: 1d20 ⇒ 6 But there is a reason why birds do not swim, because their feathers get wet and then they get all encumbered!

GM Pyros |

The body gets out to about 30 ft into the water, looks like waist deep, maybe a little deeper, and the body rests there and doesn't seem to be drifting closer.
You dont necessarily need to "swim" out to the body, but the water is deep, so there is some difficulty moving.
Perception as you approach?
Assuming Thoyoitu gets his feet wet, getting about 10 ft away, the body appears to be that of Hezalah, the priestess. What do you try to do when you see who it is?

GM Pyros |

As Thoyoitu approaches the body there is a subtle ripple below him. As he moves to pull the body back, there is a definite movement below him.
Slithering Eels cut through the water surrounding Thoyo. One of them springs at the tengu!
1d20 + 2 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 - 1 = 9 v flat footed
For 1d8 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 3 = 13
grab: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Gnashing vicious grasping teeth miss Thoyoitu's leg by inches.
Map to come tomorrow. There are at least 3 eels in the water, only one adjacent to Thoyoitu. The area is difficult terrain, and you can move at half speed or swim.
is it safe to assume that Thoyoitu cries out and everyone else wakes up?

Thoyoitu "The Tenguin" Choco-ku |

Thoyoitu climbs on top of Hezalah like a raft, hope his hollow-boned light-weight body doesn't sink the S.S. Ragdoll and shouts for help "Help! Help! I am in need of dire assistance! Something brushed right by me in the water. I think it meant to bite me, though my superior bird reflexes in conjunction with my light-weight hollow-boned body allowed me to skillfully dodge the would-be assassin."

Des wakes with a start, to see the bird getting himself in trouble again. Grumbling and groggy he stands up to see whats happening. With the tangible darkness enveloping him again, he looks into the inky black ocean with his shadow blessed eyes.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Seeing Hezalah and Thoyoitu being accosted by eels, and hopefully anything else floating in the water or prowling in the woods. Desual peels off his robe and cast mage armor on himself. Picks up his fishing spear and grabs a large plank he can surf onto to retrieve the helpless. Then wades on in.
COMING, ahhhhhhaaa... I'm coming. Don't worry the wizard will save you.

Victor Rattus Adustus |

Victor trudges into the water with his spear.

GM Pyros |

Since there's not much to tell, I'll let you ID both creatures, VIctor. The s maller creature is an Electric Eel with a shocking tail attack. The larger one is a Moray Eel with a dangerous gripping bite attack.
I'll give Thoyoitu until tomorrow when I get home to post, otherwise I'll bot him.
Pyre, how do you have three feats?

Pyre Igneel |

Im a level 2 fighter.... First level feat then 2 bonus feats from being a fighter. Unless i missed something.

GM Pyros |

I was not clear before, but from this point on, the water is difficult terrain. The mud is thick and pulls your feet, and th water is too deep. So Tho, you do get your 5' and can move 15 feet, but from this point on, all area that is water is Difficult terrain. No more 5/ stepping in the water
Thoyoitu, in a preternatural burst of speed, escapes from the Eels attacking him and heads for shore!
But the Eel that tried to bite him gives chase and attacks again I miscalculated the previous bite, tho would have been hit, but since that was my bad, it missed. so that is why the rolls are different
bite: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 3 - 1 = 20
for 1d8 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 3 = 10 8 after DR
grab: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 7 - 1 = 17 Thoyoitu is grappled by an Eel
The other man-sized Moray swims up and attacks Pyre

grab: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 7 - 1 = 23
It's teeth gnash viciously as the creature thrashes in the water, unable to hit the Nagai

Victor Rattus Adustus |

Victor moves to I14 to give thoyoitu the flank, then stabs at the eel with his spear, as hard he can.
spear(power attack): 1d20 + 3 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 - 1 = 16
damage: 1d6 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 + 2 = 3
"let's finish this quick! I think moving out to the body should be our priority! "

Thoyoitu "The Tenguin" Choco-ku |

"No, abandon the body, everyone! Already I feel myself weakening, and I don't believe I have the energy to perform another burst of speed like I just did, even with my light-weight bird-like body! Living another day takes priority over the affairs of the dead."

Desula speeds down the beach and in to the ocean for Hezelah.
Full round double move to G9. @Pyros Can I use some drift wood as a surf board or flotation device so it's easier to get around in the water. Count it as a small water vehicle?

GM Pyros |

Desula, You aren't able to move faster than 1/2 speed as through difficult terrain. The water is only about knee to waist height
Rosalyn charges the Moray that is currently surrounded, taking wing over the water

The Electric eel swims up and snaps at Desula. . .

for 1d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 2 = 5
But cannot find purchase due to the wizard's flowing robes.

Pyre Igneel |

Pyre swings his club at the eel infront of him.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 5 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 5 - 1 - 1 = 23
Damage: 1d10 + 4 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 3 - 1 = 8
Edit for crit
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 5 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 5 - 1 - 1 = 15
Damage: 1d10 + 4 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 3 - 1 = 10

GM Pyros |

Pyre's club comes crashing down hard on the skull of the man-szed eel that attacked him with a splash and a crunch. The Eel floats up slowly, blood spreading out into the waters. Pyre, do you want to move anywhere now that you killed the eel on you? you are moving through difficult terrain. Nice Crit
The Moray that is surrounded responds to Thoyoitu's attack by chewing on the bird
Gnaw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
for 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 1 damage after DR
Grapple: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 but it cannot maintain it's hold on the struggling avian.

Carefully maneuvering around the slippery eel, Desula continues to check on floating body of the cleric. C:12
Withdraw=full round action. When you withdraw, you can move up to double your speed. The square you start out in is not considered threatened by any opponent you can see, and therefore visible enemies do not get attacks of opportunity against you when you move from that square.

Victor Rattus Adustus |

Victor winds his arm up again to deliver a blow to the eel.
"hang on thoy! I'll get you out of this mess!"
spear: 1d20 + 3 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 - 1 = 15
damage: 1d6 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 - 2 = 1
"soon!" he adds, as the strike arcs wildly into the water.

GM Pyros |

Again, Victor's attack is a direct hit, but the spear fails to penetrate the Eel's thick rubberey hide.
Desula approaches Hezala's unmoving form, and discovers the body seems to be shivering, and seems to have something of Victor's keeping it afloat.
Rosalyn takes another opportunity to stab the eel
spear: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 2 = 9
For 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 miss
The electric eel swims behind the tengu and bites and shocks him

For 1d6 ⇒ 2 miss
The first bite fails to penatrate Thoyoitu's armor, and the shocking tail attack misses

GM Pyros |

Pyre drags the eel to shore
Again, Thoyoitu pecks at the eel, but his beak is not striking with enough force to pierce the eel's thick hide.
The eel bites back
1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7
For 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Grab: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 2 = 26 but chomps water.
Victor and destroy are up.

Destroy tries to warm Hezalah with his body heat, and begins dragging her and Victor's luggage back to the beach. Purposefully avoiding the melee.
Give us some room to get her and land. And Victor your going to love Hezalah for the rest of your life.
