With a dex-based poison, Roscoe is losing any ability to contribute. It hits his to hit, his armor, and he's small so he has a less than 50% to contribute to the grapple. That said, I was pretty sure the grapple was the only to win - it should guarantee sneak attack damage to push through the DR along with that being when everyone hits it with spells.
That pretty much means the whole group has to just sit there and assit + grapple for Doran.

Color spray is there but Doran is in cone area. I could move to north of doran but will take ao. If doran attacks and doesn't shift, i guess that is what i will do. It will also make it more difficult to use other scroll if first fails.

Ok guys you are back on track now, and into the endgame.
I suspect you should be able to now move through this next bit 'as intended', that last battle was just an unfortunate set of rolls, but also if we can keep the post rate active that would be cool as we get back into the vibe of the scenario.
Shifty |
Back - all caught up.
I was just checking through the earlier posts, and it appears all the player info is there (woohoo!) so that will make Chronicles and reporting easier.
From an admin point, it appears this game started under Game Day IV which has long since passed, and it's probably a bit late in the day to hit up Jesse to get that untangled, so I will chase up 'something' and see how we play out.
On the IN CASE (no promises, just checking, could happen)
BOON ROLL - 1 or 20 wins.
GM 1d20 ⇒ 18
Cornelia 1d20 ⇒ 1 <---
Doran 1d20 ⇒ 8
Roscoe 1d20 ⇒ 2
Whendel 1d20 ⇒ 7
Let me see what can be done there guys :)

Good job, Roscoe! Were you ever able to translate the full message yet?
Also, Shifty, did you happen to hear anything back yet about the Gameday boons?

Okay, I compiled the cipher into a table to make it easier to break some of these codes (which I will work on tonight). You can find it here. Unfortunately, we are missing some letters and I haven't quite figured out the pattern for the missing letters. The one thing I have noticed is that vowels have a matched pair. So, that leads me to believe there may be some sort of pattern for the consonants... I hope.
*EDIT*
Shifty, since I never did ask for that freebie letter, think I could still get that? If so, I'd like to know what the associated letter for the encrypted "L".
Cornelia d'Malheur |
Okay, this is what I was able to decrypt from Seal Codes handout...
Sexikai Icnyd - Noravia A??us
Agzoxai Xilais - Imperia Ra?ian
Ziwxessafyd Hxoshiso - Patronicus Drendane
Wisfxoh Hodagaxo - Tancred Desimire
Cyxfe Wisilais - ?urco Tana?ian
Zikissi Icitixae - Pavanna A?a?ario
Ioxehyd Icnyd - Aerodus A??us
Pxifqayd Xiwixaes - ?rachius Ratarion
These all look names, but none of them are ringing a bell OOC. Shifty, would you allow a Knowledge roll to see if Cornelia would recognize any of them? If she does, then that would definitely aide in filling in the remaining blanks in my cipher.

This scenario leads straight on to Fortress of the Nail (which then side quests into Veterans Vault).
There's about fourteen scenarios in that make up a whole storyline running from season 0 through to the end of season 5, it is epic :p
I lined them all up for my local group and hit go, and it was a hell of a ride.
Shifty |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |
The list that works well is as outlined below.
It weaves a couple of arcs into one solid storyline, it is the story of the Desimire family, The Blakros family and their museum (plus curator), a huge Chelaxian plot, and more double crossing nasty dealing than you can poke a longsword at.
This is the order it needs to be played in, but you can play anything else between them no problem, just need to keep an eye on the level requirements and will almost certainly need a second set of lower level characters due to tier differences.
Mists of Mwangi
Voice in the Void
Penumbral accord
Echoes of the Overwatched
Storming the Diamond Gate
The Blakros Matrimony
The Disappeared
The Fortress of the Nail
Veterans Vault
Day of the Demon
Special - Siege of the Diamond City (optional - multitable)
Hellknights Feast
Traitors Lodge
Vengeance at Sundered Crag
Silver mount collection

I wholeheartedly agree with Roscoe, Shifty. Thank you very much for taking this over like you did. I find this espionage style scenarios quiet enjoyable for characters like Cornelia.
Cornelia d'Malheur |
Agreed. If it was just one imp, then the fight would be much more reasonable, but two? Ouch.
Also, I'm definitely going to look into those scenarios!
Lastly, for Cornelia's chronicle sheet I'll be using the Slow progression. I've got a bunch of 1-5 scenarios that I want to fit in before she's too high level for them... :)

Sorry i was absent all day. I appreciate the help in getting through this thing. We were stuck. Thank you for stepping up even as you run the special. We lost two almost right out of the gate. Then we lost the GM. Again thanks.
Shifty |
All good, I am happy it got resolved and we could crack on with it. The Special is chewing a lot of free time, and I have had to plan two cons and execute one in the time we have been doing this too - I have another con to run next weekend (based around Runecarved Key).
On another note I'm about to wrap up another group too, which is in Murders Mark. I was a player in it and the GM vanished, so I swapped to being the GM.
Fun.
I will get chronicles sorted and the session reported shortly - I will also get the boon sorted for Cornelia.

That is dedication, Shifty! I wish I had a little more time to devote to all the fine folks in the Flaxseed! I had a blast with you guys!
Shifty |
Hahah it's killing me.
I got handballed a bunch of things to do when I was tossed the Venture Captain role for the local area - I already had heaps in tow for my own events etc and then I got the local PFS guys as well - so it was twice the headache.
It has been cool though, but now I just need to realign things locally.
Shifty |
I have just run a four day con in Sydney (Four Play), I have the PbP Multi going, I have a three day con this weekend (AECMI 3).
We have NewCon coming up, but that was easy as I didn't have to do much other than sort out their paperwork (ie support), and am in the initial stages of working out the PFS component of EyeCon which is four days over Easter.
Not sure what my next PbP special will be, but the actual Online Play VO team has been really proactive with their plans this year and have a bunch of stuff scheduled, so I might have a year to wait before I do Runecarved Key multi on these forums.
