Everyone's cool with a GM Star Replay?
I'll have a couple of purchases to clean up this weekend, but I'll be ready.

I am cool with it and that all that matters. Just a reminder though
If you spoil the plot for the table, the GM has the right to ask you to leave the table. Be very careful about character knowledge versus player knowledge. If you’re concerned about possibly spoiling something during the course of play, take the GM aside and ask how she would like it handled. Remember: the goal of replay is to make sure fun gaming happens, not to remove the fun from gaming.
Other than that, glad to have you aboard!

Absolutely. On the bright side, I went back to check- -played it in May 2013, when it was still 4-EX, plenty long ago.
And hopefully, "Diri-speak" doesn't cause too many headaches.

Pooka is updated to level 5. We don't have the chronicle yet for SMM so I'm not entirely sure if I will be spending gold or not.
Here are the highlights for you GM_TheBobJones:
Pooka now has Banner - Gives everyone a +2 moral bonus to saves vs Fear, and a +1 to hit while charging as long as they can see me and are within 60 feet. Pooka's banner is his Surcoat, and Luna has a matching version, which is emblazoned with the eagle of the Liberty's Edge faction.
Pooka received 2 feats at 5th level - Took Power Attack and Wheeling Charge (From the Cities of Golarion supplement, which I purchased just for this feat). Wheeling charge allows me to take 1 turn up to 90 degrees at some point in my charge. The attack can happen anytime during the charge, as ride-by-attack is one of the pre-reqs.
Luna also received another feat, and I took Improved Overrun. So here is a question. I believe I should be able to charge and attack, and Luna should be able to perform an Overrun maneuver also. I looked at the rules and searched the forums for anything that says I can or can't specifically, and there doesn't appear to be anything, at least that I could find.
I generally never have Luna act, because more often than not I am using a reach weapon and she can't. I hadn't thought of using Overrun, but I would think it should be possible, since I can Ride-By-Attack to continue moving after my attack has happened. Overrun is a combat maneuver that can be performed as part of a charge action.
I wanted to ask about it first to avoid any confusion during the game. I think it is legal, but just want to make sure we are all on the same page first.

![Lem](http://cdn.paizo.com/image/avatar/PZO1125-Lem2_90.jpeg)
When you attempt to overrun a target, it can choose to avoid you, allowing you to pass through its square without requiring an attack. If your target does not avoid you, make a combat maneuver check as normal. If your maneuver is successful, you move through the target's space. If your attack exceeds your opponent's CMD by 5 or more, you move through the target's space and the target is knocked prone. If the target has more than two legs, add +2 to the DC of the combat maneuver attack roll for each additional leg it has.

![Truthseeker Wayfinder](http://cdn.paizo.com/image/avatar/PZO9435-Wayfinder3_90.jpeg)
@ Pooka Wow quite the bramble of rule interpretations for that one. I thank you for bringing this up now, and I expect you to get some table variation. Lots of good GMs in this game so please feel free to weigh in.
So Pooka is mounted on Luna, and would like to attack the BBEG with Spirited Charge and Ride by Attack. The BBEG is closer than double their mounted speed, and Pooka/Luna can move through allied squares, and make a 90 degree turn with each part of that turn being at least 10 feet.
From what I have read, both Pooka and Luna are currently charging, so all AC and to hit modifiers apply to their entire action.
So in my interpretation, your lance attack happens first, as it has reach. So resolve your attack first.
Then you want Luna to make an Overrun attempt. Since you have ride by attack the only benefit I see is to exceed the target's CMD by 5 to knock them prone. reward
But if she fails, your movement stops. risk
So Luna is a +7 CMB, +9 with charge. To give you a frame of reference, Savash from our last scenario has a CMD of 21 at tier 6-7. Luna would need a 17 to hit a CMD 26 to knock him prone, and a 12 to not stop your movement.
Conversely, this all become a moot point
a target, it can choose to avoid you, allowing you to pass through its square without requiring an attack.
Which would be challenging on PbP because it would need to be declared before Luna makes her attack.

Good point.... I'm glad you brought up the math. It might not make sense to do it a whole lot... Yet.
Luna now has the improved over run feat, which means that enemies cannot choose to avoid her. In a couple of level she will be able to choose to take the trample feat, which lets her make an attack as she over runs an opponent.
Party buffs should affect Luna also, right? Things like inspire courage, etc? There may be ways of boosting that CMB to make the over run more enticing.
I'll have to read through that thread when I have more time....

![Cleric of Brigh](http://cdn.paizo.com/image/avatar/PZO9086-Brigh.jpg)
Mounted combat rules are kind of a mess (and I have a level 13 cavalier myself!). Most feats/options simply don't work without a little reasonable leeway.
A bit of opinion:
The Improved Overrun feat removes the ability for a target to avoid your attempt (which is sometimes unfortunate, because the important part of the overrun is the ability to move through a square)- -knocking prone is typically just a bonus.
I would let you Ride-by-Attack directly at a foe, make your charging lance attack (which typically will obliterate him anyway) and continue in a straight line giving your mount an overrun attempt to "keep going." If the attempt fails, your Ride-By ends in the spot adjacent to the enemy.
Wheeling Charge adds another piece to the puzzle. If you make your turn before the lance attack, no big deal. But you can also make the (up to) 90 degree turn as you strike. Or after. I would want to know the intended path (including where the lance attack takes place and where the mount makes an attack and/or overrun attempt) before any of the parts are resolved.
This gives the GM a chance to adjudicate, decide if the foe would avoid an overrun (barring the feat preventing them), then go about rolling.
As usual, expect table variation.
To make things better (and more complicated) look at Charge Through when you get a later feat.

![Barbarian](http://cdn.paizo.com/image/avatar/PZO1114-Barbarian_90.jpeg)
I have a distinct dislike towards what I call "pet classes", and this includes mounted characters. Therefore I have very little knowledge how the actually work; if I did, I'd be superanal about them, and force every bit of Handle Animal and Ride check in question to make the player's life miserable. So I won't be voicing any of my opinions about the matter.
*ahem*
I have a rather limited pool of characters to use in this particular endeavor, which is why I've chosen to pick a character of mine I swore to keep as a no-GM-xp character. Furthermore, I created the most obnoxious characteristics to him, the most hateful persona I could come up with. So with that in mind please do remember that none of the opinions and ideas Targath voices out loud do not represent me in any way. If you feel offended by my character, it only tells I've done a good job.
tl;dr He's Gordon Ramsay from Hell's Kitchen.
Also, he gets a wand of infernal healing for 2 PP.

Targath and I could have some... interesting times together. Particularly if he likes the sound of a touch (just a touch) of assisted patricide.
Also, Xûll gets a wand of infernal healing for 'free' (using a boon I got last scenario to swap my wand of healing out for it - much more useful given infernal healing is on my spell list). Tee hee. I have a spell llist.
Speaking of, I still need to level up. Will try for today.

Another forewarning: Targath has an uncanny habit of interrupting discussions that are going badly. This involves a javelin, quick draw feat, and an attack roll. He has done this "maneuver" twice; both times it was the better, actually.
One time the conversation was at a dead end, there was no chance of improving the attitude any longer, so Targath acted on instinct and made the first attack.
The second time Targath and his fellows were approached by another ship. It was not clear whether they were hostile or not, but still Targath just promptly threw a javelin at the other captain. Fortunately the pathfinders found out they were going to board the ship and attack anyways; thanks to Targath they got the advantage of first draw and quickly erased the threat. The other players' reaction to the "Targath maneuver" was priceless though, a collective "NO!".
Targath's impulsive and erratic.

Ok so no one has the spoilered skills? I will address that before we start proper.
APL maths time
Pooka - 5
Diri -5
Shoantais -4
Athrax MIA. He hasn't dotted in any of the 3 new threads so I will PM him
Amaranti 6
So you are APL of 4.6 so tier 6-7 w 4 party adjustment
Or APL 4.4 without Amaranti. Tier 3-4 no adjustment

We can invite someone else from the new-to-PbP Confirmation crowd to replace Arthrax or Amaranti if you like. Two more of my dudes have quite a few crons. Steve's got only one experienced PFSer, I think.

I forgot about one special ability Targath has, but which I haven't used not even once because it must be the worst worded ability in Paizo's history (and that's saying a lot!).
Freebooter's Bond
At 4th level, a freebooter forms a bond with her crewmates. This bond allows her to spend a move action to grant her allies extra combat prowess when they work as a team. All allies within 30 feet who can see or hear the freebooter gain an additional +2 bonus on attack rolls when flanking with the freebooter or with another ally affected by this ability. This ability replaces hunter’s bond.
A) Times per day?
B) Duration?
C) Untyped bonus?
As it stands now it'd allow Targath to use that the first thing in the morning and grant everyone an additional +2 to attack when flanking. Paizo has issued absolutely nothing to explain what the ability SHOULD do. If it is identical to Hunter's Bond (ranger ability, which sucks tremendously) in terms of times per day and duration, it sucks so much I'll forget it ever existed.

Xûll is updated now. Thanks for your patience, John!
@Targath:
Given the style of Freebooter's bond, from the wording I'd say it works similar to a teamwork feat after the move action so:
A) Unlimited.
B) Whenever you spend the move action to give the bonus (so 1 round)... similar to the cavalier's tactician style abilities.
C) Yes, untyped.
... until and unless a developer clarifies! Or until John disagrees. :-)

If you don't want the tier 6-7 w/ adjustment, please let me know and Damien has said that he has another player in mind.
Adding to the fun, I hurt my knee Saturday night, and I was in and out of Drs yesterday. I have an orthopedic appointment Wednesday and I hopefully will figure out what is wrong before I cut the durn thing off.

Hello all and again thank you for your patients. Hate waiting.
I had a busy morning, but if I don't hear from Arthrax by tomorrow, we can move forward. You are currently 4+4+5+5/4 4.5 so you play the Tier 3-4 with no adjustments as a 4-player party.
If anyone has objections, I can recruit more. Damien has said he has another potential candidate, if you wouldn't mind PMing him/her to gauge interest. I think it is safe to say that you do not want to play the tier 6-7 with the 4 party adjustment?
If you don't check in by tomorrow, I will assume that party of 4, tier 3-4, no adjustment.
Thanks again for your patience :)

And posted. I need to clean up the formating a bit (especially skills) but it should be hopefully showing up.
I do have a few "non-standard" abilities for people that haven't been around tieflings or investigators:
Fiendish Sprinter: +10' movement during a charge, run, or withdraw action
Maw: 1d6 bite attack
Prehinsile Tail: Can retrieve small stowed objects as a swift action
The following checks can have their usual ability modifier replaced by Int:
Disable Device
Perception
Sense Motive
Use Magic Device checks.
Diplomacy checks (Gather Information and Persuasion)
Bluff checks (to convince others that a lie is true, not feint)
Potion Glutton: Can drink a potion as a Swift Action (not really useful now, but when I get my 2nd level extracts...)
My interpretation of Student of Philosophy and Ceaseless Observation is that between the two they cover pretty much everything you can do with the Diplomacy skill other than day job checks. If there's a situation you would rule it wouldn't cover, let me know :)
I also have one extract of Heightened Awareness. Not sure if I need to have that active when a relavent knowledge comes up (like examinging something) or if I can use that before making my check.

@ Chumley That you for the wall of text. I have not run a Tiefling as I have no boon, and I was surprised to see that Blood of Fiends and oni-spawn was PFS legal. Congrats for having a boon and making a neat concept character.
As for the first ruling, SoP and CO seems to cover the Diplomacy skill. I agree with your assessment.
For Heightned Awarness, if we are not in rounds, let me if you want to take your extract first. If we are in rounds, you would need to specify that you are taking it before making the roll. Once you do take it though, make sure to include that in your current conditions as it has a 30 minute duration.

Thank you. I like how you are placing role play over sound mechanics.
I do have to say that I am not sure that Targath's abrasiveness will not become too much as the adventure progresses. Let us remember the Primary Rule of Gaming, which is have fun. I know you are having fun role playing him, and as a neutral GM, I too find him interesting.
I just don't want your character to have fun, and inhibit the enjoyment for the remainder of the table. Remember this is a shared experience.
To add on, Delzden found himself in conflict with the party last adventure, but he emulated 'good' characteristics whereas the other characters were a bit 'murder hobo-ey'. That to me is positive conflict. I liked it so much I rolled up a LG paladin that I am playing as a partial-pacifist. I think the party is getting frustrated because I have been grappling/overrunning all the bad guys and they just want to murder hobo.
If this came across judgmental, please note that it that was not the intent. As a GM I want to make sure that all my players have a fun experience.
Carry on boys!
