As Dorvren attempts to unlock the door you hear a click then a cone of fire erupts from the keyhole burning both Dorvren and Kylma. Dorvren dives to the side taking only a small portion of the flame but Kylma not so fortunate takes all of the flame's fury.

Dorvren rolls to the side and lays against the side of a bed, panting and grimacing.

Kylma is lying on the floor flames licking at her armor clearly making it less effective to ward off attacks. Near unconsciousness she closes her eyes griting her teeth, trying to fight off the pain.

As the flames flare from the door, Grey immediately spins & sprints to Dorvren and Kylma's side, pulling a thick-walled glass phial from his belt-pouch as he does so. Once he reaches their sides, Grey breaks the seal on the phial, dipping his thumb in & dabbing a bit of the liquid within on each as he begins a decidedly disquieting incantation. Once he finishes he mutters. "I'm sorry, it's the best I can do. Your soul should recover...
in time."

1st round: cast Infernal Healing on Dovren. Dovren you now have Fast Healing 1 for the next 10 rounds. You also feel a wash of pure evil.
2nd round: cast Infernal Healing on Kylma. Same effects.

Dorvren stiffens as the alternating burning and icy feeling assaults his very soul. His eyes fill with fear as he does not understand what is happening to him..

After a minute he rises, slowly calming.

He returns and unlocks the door.


Beyond the door lies a small triangular room contains a large iron chest.

Kylma slowly regains consciousness and looks at her hands, her now ruined armor and then touches her face. Tears well up in her eyes as she feels the blisters that have formed. She turns to Grey and says, Thank you little one. I owe you my life. she gets up slowly and makes her way to one of the beds and sits down for a bit.

He looks at Grey in shock as the infernal incantation is uttered. That be forbidden magicks! Ye should be careful Grey less ye taint yur soul for good. I have heard that using such Magick invites the Infernal in.

He utters a prayer to Torag for forgiveness no spell just fluff


After about fifteen minutes of rest Kylma and Dorvren are ready to continue on.

I, the player knows that, but Dorvren, the character, is not prepared to speak up. Especially after the fire trap debacle. Remember he is painfully shy and afraid of looking foolish in front of others. And so far, he has tried to deal non lethal damage to a corpse, and almost killed himself and his companion...his confidence is at an all time low

"Bide a wee if you would please." Grey responds to Kjell's statement. If Kjell agrees, Grey mutters a brief incantation, miming wiping something from his vision as he does so.
Cast Detect Magic; observe the pile of coins for long enough to determine there are no magical auras. If there are any auras, set those coins aside.
Having determined the mundane nature of the treasure before them, Grey takes several double handfuls & sets each before one of the companions, finishing with emptying his into his own pouch. "There, little time taken & all parties hopefully satisfied."


The only magic in the chest are the potions.


Divided up each of you receive 44gp, 42sp, and 62cp. There is 4gp, 2sp and 2 cp left over.

Kilain looks around, obviously on guard...hammer at the ready for any potential danger as he accepts the coins brought by Grey.


You notice no movement or sounds other than the groups.

kylma moves from the bed and stands next to you, puts a hand on your shoulder and says Do not beat yourself up over the trap going off. I will be fine in a few days. Besides, it could have happened to anyone. Just be thankful Grey had a bit of healing ability even though it may be a bit strange.

Dorvren glances around the room, having been so focused on the chest he did not even see if there was a another door in the room.

If so he checks and opens it, if not he cheks and opens the door at the opposite end of the floor.

There are no other doors in this room so you check the door opposite the one that lead you to your current position. You do not hear any noise coming from the other side. You find no traps and it is unlocked
