Fish looks to Almalik and can clearly see the man is busy. So he turns to Nagbur to ask, "This good time for angry Fish?"

Ama hears the sound of several bows creaking and has a minor panic attack. She then realizes that Almalik, who's smart enough to catch onto things quickly, must be using some of his magic. Making use of the situation, Ama puts her longbow on her back and continues to sneak back toward her allies. While sneaking, she draws her nodachi.

I can't take these riders on my own...

Is there some kind of road from the pass to the camp, and are the riders on that road? Or are they in the bushes with me, where they can't charge?

Ama slowly makes her way back to the others. Almalik's trick has done the job to hold back the riders, at least for a bit.

The roadworkers keep glancing at the mountain pass with worried looks. The group has been gone for quite some time now and the small, although very powerful, Nagbur is the only one defending them.
"you think they still live? haven't seen em for quite some time."

The vitalist pauses in his rock-loading efforts and looks toward the rise. "Nagbur know they be okay. Muchly good at what they do."

He tried to sound confident, but with everyone out of range and his mental links down, he didn't really know, and was somewhat concerned. His tricks had impressed the workers but truth told, Nagbur knew holding off a major attack by himself would be nearly impossible.

"We should take out the riders while they're out," Ama tells her allies, jumping up and down hyperactively. "I can continue to do pewpew after that, and take more out. I nearly killed someone with the single shot I made! Like POW, in his shoulder!"

GM, my question about the road stands :O The following part assumes there's some kind of road the riders could use to charge ('cause riders usually like charging):

"Come on, but let me walk up front," Ama says as she hurries back down the road, into the valley.

Once the riders come into view, Ama starts yelling at them. "Hey! Over here!"

Ama waits for the riders to move toward her and her comrades. If they do, she readies an attack versus the first rider to come into her nodachi's range.

Readied attack:
Nodachi: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Damage x2 if the opponent charges Ama, 'cause a nodachi's a brace weapon.

Almalik moves back from Ama to ensure he's not in melee range.

"Well I had hopes of negotiating some deal, but I suppose we can just kill the bastards. Ama, before you fire let me see if I can unhorse them - a mount is an advantage after all. All right?"

Once the riders are nearly in range, Almalik will create an illusory pit just in front of the charging riders in the hopes it will spook the horses and cause them to throw the riders.

Guild map | Jade regent

There is no road, the mountain pass looks vaguely like a road. You need to decide how to proceed on the next part, without assuming there will be riders ;P

You head back through the woods a little but see no trace of the riders. When they stopped following they really seemed to have stopped. After walking for a bit you see traces of where the riders have stopped following Ama. A bit up ahead is the bandit camp, still on full alert.

Do not read this! (Except for Nagbur of course...) You will notice soon enough what happens on the other side of the mountain :P

Nagbur:

As you are keenly watching your surroundings you hear a twig snapping and the rustling of leaves behind you. Turning around you see a magnificent beast coming out of the bushes. A white horse, but with a goat's beard and a single long ivory horn on its brow. And on top a small fellow clad in green, whom you recognize as the leprechaun you met earlier during your travels.
Start of the magical forest
"Oi mate! Them fella's a yours are picking a fight on the other side of the mountain. Tryin' to take on a whole camp a bandits."

GM:
At the snap of the twig Nagbur spins around, arm raised and hand back, about to throw offensive energy. Then the rider registers. He blinks and lowers his hand.

"Green. Why you be here, we done with forest!"

He frowns at what the puckish little fellow tells him. "Must be stupid longshanks, Fish too smart for to do that."

He studies the road crew while rubbing his chin in thought. "Green. Me need go help but no should leave men alone. You can watch over for when Nagbur get back?"

"I think we need to regroup back with Nagbur and plan this out properly instead of make things up as we go along, particularly with our healer back at camp. If the riders aren't following this is our opportunity to get out of this situation. We know where the bandits are, we know their numbers."

Nagbur jumps on the back of the animal and it sets off to the others, followed by the workers. The workers can't stop to wonder at the weirdness of the group members.

The other group members set back for the road and Nagbur. Once they are in the pass several things happen at once. Two figures jump out of bushes on either side of the road in front of the group. At the same time a loud horn is heard from the back. The eight riders from earlier can be seen at the spot where the group entered the pass. On the other side of the valley Nagbur appears, on a unicorn sitting behind Green. The leprechaun you met in the magical forest waves at you.

Idris runs off and steals the sap the bandit was holding, tossing it into the forest. The bandits grins and grabs a spiked chain. He swings the chain, aiming to trip Idris but misses. The other bandit circles around a bit and moves in and tries to hit Idris in the head with his sap. Idris manages to step away just in time to dodge the attack. Almalik in the meanwhile grabs his book and starts rummaging through it to remember one of his spells. On the other side of the pass the scouts start charging at Almalik and Ama, not really used to the horses they almost all miss. Almalik gets a minor scratch on his shoulder. Forcing myself in the surprise round by spending a mote.

At the first sign of movement from the riders time ripples around Ama. When the first of the charging riders arrives in front of her, she has an attack readied for him.

Readied Attack vs. Charge; Nodachi: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 x2 for using a Brace weapon vs. a charge = 20

Ama hits the first of the riders that charges her hard, before he even tries to hit her.

Combat round 1:

If the rider that charged into her nodachi still stands, Ama attacks him again. If he doesn't, Ama will swing her nodachi at the rider closest to Almalik.

Nodachi: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

If my attack doesn't hit, I'm spending a mote to increase the attack roll. If my attack hits without mote, and the opponent's still standing, I'll instead use it to increase my damage.
Mote: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Enlarge person on Ama. Increased die in weapon damage, +2 str, -2 dex, -1 AC, -1 attack.

Idris, you are able to use disarm while doing flurry of blows. The items which have been disarmed have fallen to the ground in the square of the bandit by the way. Was reading up on everything yesterday when I discovered these things. And the spell Almalik uses goes off in the next round indeed ^^

Since I am unarmed, I can end up with the items in my hand, and I can do with them as I please, including throw them far away. There's something satisfying about the thought of taking your weapon away, tossing it over my shoulder, then grinning evilly at you :) I probably should be flurrying, but I was worried about the -2.

Wow, that was unnerving! Thanks to tiny smartphone text, for a moment there I thought I read a very angry Idris saying, "Nagbur, I think you just made a big mistake." :op

Nagbur cringes as the new guy takes a chain full to the face. Seeing another bandit about to join the fray with a sap, the vitalist moves closer (5' Step; can't move tokens from here but I'll get it tonight) and focuses his mind on the new attacker.

Siphon (RTA) => Mr. Sappy Guy: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2

Two HP ripped away from the sap with the sap (not sure if that's Mr. Yellow or Mr. Orange). Idris gains one temporary HP for one minute.

Waiting on Ama to continue. But you were indeed right, don't see armed unarmed disarms very often... very confusing... ;P

Yeah, I was trying to decide what maneuver I was going to focus on and was reading them all carefully. Then I kind of had this vision of a nasty bare-knuckle brawler taking my sword away, casually tossing it over his shoulder, then the punching commencing. I was hooked

Ama swings her nodachi with deadly precision, aiming for the rider northeast of her. "I don't like you!"

Idris grabs the bandit's chain and chucks it in the woods. The bandits follows with a loud curse. Fish continues his rampage and creates a deep gash on the scout south of him. Ama, in less of a rampage, slices the rider northeast of her in half.

The northmost bandit lunges forward and knocks Idris off his feet. The other one knocks Idris in the head again. The scouts go on attacking the ones they were already pestering. Two of the attacks hit Fish.
