Probably this weekend for me; sorry.

GM Dinuci |

No problem, have to do some small preparation for both scenario's still so I will not be able to start before the weekend.

Nagbur Damnstink |

Wait, seven? Did I miss a level-up somewhere? Last one I have listed was the temple mission which took Stinky to L5, so I was expecting this one to go to L6.

Nagbur Damnstink |

Not much happening with Stinky.
L5 -> L6
HP 32 -> 38
PP 44 -> 58
BAB +2 -> +3
CMB +1 -> +2
CMD 13 -> 14
Fort +6 -> +7
Ref +2 -> +3
Will +9 -> +10

Linguistics N/A -> +4
Added language "Giant" because: Bodur and Momma.

Nagbur Damnstink |

Hehe. No worries, you just got me to wondering, is all.
Ama, Stinky's at a point now where it makes sense for him to switch a couple of his tactics. In preparation, you may want to research how your Fey healing might interact with temporary hit points. I don't think it will, but any boost you can get is good, no?

There's no healing involved in gaining temporary hit point, so there isn't any interaction between them and my healy-healy abilities.

Nagbur Damnstink |

Yeah, that's what I figured. Just wanted to mention it before we get into the thick of things again.

GM Dinuci |

I finally found the town map that fit my idea of the city where the guild is located! See the campaign info to have a look at it!

Almalik Fezana |

Funny question, but what's our loot situation after the last game? Unsure of if I have disposable income for shopping or not.

GM Dinuci |

You got nothing from helping Bodur move, except for gratitude! The temple mission gave you not only enough xp for two levels but also enough money for two levels. Even a bit too much actually...

Fish Silverscale |

+1 level of Dragon Disciple
HP +9 (1d12 +2 Con bonus)
Saves +1 fort and +1 will

Character sheet updated.

GM Dinuci |

I will be on a trip later this week! From the 6th to the 10th. I expect to have little to no internet. As a heads up!

Nagbur Damnstink |

Looks like you'll be back before our GM!
Hang in there... having to go "cold turkey" can be rough!

GM Dinuci |

Back from a lovely (slightly weird) and refreshing holiday!
The place I went had no internet! 5 days without internet feels really good :P

Nagbur Damnstink |

Ah. Obviously some obscure usage of the word "good" of which I was previously unaware. :op
Glad you had a good time though, and happy to have you back!

Almalik Fezana |

Can someone give me a "the story thus far" on the mission and events thus far? I'm reading back and I'm feeling like I quite don't have a grasp on it.
1. We're asked to investigate thefts
2. We get a lead on a shady merchant, who we follow
3. Merchant leads us to a casino/slave pit
4. We then go to slave auction, and find out the guy who hired us is a slaver himself?
5. We're now talking to a dude about...

GM Dinuci |

You have been asked to find the source of the problem, the one behind the thefts. You uncovered that the thefts were a cover for the slaving business. You kept following the merchant and you have discovered that the captain general is at the head of everything himself. It's now up to you how to deal with everything.
There are also hints in the campaign info.

GM Dinuci |

@Almalik
On your earlier question. I gave you guys a lot of hooks to get more information but no one responded to them. So now you have only the bare minimum of the story to get to the end. I had a lot more information and fluff to give you but you did need to talk to more people, which no one did.
@Everyone
I know some of you are away and have little to no internet but the game is still going slower and slower. The next part is going to be combat again and I would really like to get back up to 1 round per day. Before we started I asked a post a day as a minimum and I would really like to get back to that point again, unless you are away of course. The game is getting less and less fun for me to run when there are days when simply nothing happens even when I give you hints and ways to go on, or when only a single person responds to things happening.
In the past week I have made three more scenario's ready to be played, all combat based again. I think the kind of game we are currently playing isn't really working with pbp but I wanted to give it a try to fluff up the story a bit more.
If someone isn't enjoying the game anymore then we might have to change things around a bit or maybe even change out a player, if that is what it takes to get the game up to full speed again.

Ama |

I've enjoyed this game very much so far and love playing Ama, but I agree the slow pace is making the game less fun.
Ama's role as 'pretend slave' made it a bit hard for me to add much to this scenario, but it shouldn't be too hard for me to post once a day now this mission's near its end. I hope the others will also pick up the pace, as I'd certainly like to see this game continue.
------
GM, on the topic of trying something different:
This mission was perhaps less suited for PbP and/or this party, but I think that trying something different has paid off many times before. The way the magic items worked in the desert mission was really cool, and I very much like the runes we got at the end. The enchanted forest was also different and, despite Ama's complaints about the dwarves, I enjoyed it very much.

Axe 'Axe' Axe |

For this mission, my brain just wasn't getting some stuff and my posting rate was low at that crucial period, too, so that didn't help. I'm ok now, but for me, it is also a bit weird to have the most verbally inept person do the talking :P But I'm finally just pushing through because someone has to.
On a somewhat related note, Stink's player hasn't posted in another PbP of mine in about 3 weeks. I will admit this is finals week and even locally, my PFS group hate has declined the past couple of weeks and for the next couple ahead as students prepare for finals and end of the year projects.
But here's hoping we can pick things up since I understand not wanting to GM if it's no fun on your end, too.

Fish Silverscale |

I've enjoyed the games and I might be speaking for Nagbur on this as well, but this one doesn't really play well to our characters as we've been dismissed as servants, I've made use of the metal link when I've thought of something to share. I am happy with playing this one out though.

Almalik Fezana |

I think it's more about the investigative style being a poor fit for PbP than anything else. My Carrion Crown game (which shares some players with this one) is in a investigative section and a few players aren't quite sure how to push or what to do next. At a tabletop, things happen more briskly and it's clear what you're looking at, at any given moment. People often talk about how dungeons can stall out gaems in PbP, I'm interested in finding out ways to make this style of game work better. I -like- investigative games. It's just hard to find the point to push, and make sure every player is engaged and doing something.

GM Dinuci |

Lol, metal link!
But it's good to hear. I did get some feedback about giving more background to the stories. I'll try and implement that instead of investigations. Though I find background way harder than simply creating a scenario like I've been doing. The main reason I don't do a single story.
I'll update in the morning!

Idris Elbow |

I am back, and should be catching up on regular posting in the next few days.
I can't help but say "ditto" to what the others have said, and to lament that as the only true "mouth" in this story (once we hit the slavers), my restrictions on posting the last few weeks have made it hard to move the story along. Mea culpa.
Part of the problem I have noticed with investigative-type scenarios is simply the slow pace of PbP causes people to forget what they were looking for, who they should talk to, etc. Your clues spoiler helped, but I think we all got a little off-track.

Nagbur Damnstink |

Hey now GM, you were concerned about running out of scenarios, all we did was put the brakes on so you could catch up! :op
Seriously though, sorry about my lack of participation for the last few weeks. Life unexpectedly went totally bonkers in a way that left me fall-into-bed exhausted at the end of each day. I'm digging my way out now, though I'd hoped to catch up completely today and I've only had a chance to post to two games, sigh.
In addition to my causing things to drag, it seems like the majority of the games I'm in have slowed to a crawl recently anyway. I hadn't thought of Axe's comment about it being finals week, but maybe that has some bearing. For US-based players, people seem to get really busy when the weather first warms up too, having to deal with yard stuff after work until everything settles down.
Investigative/clue-driven scenarios might just be difficult in general. One of our local GMs tried one in a weekly "real-time" game and it didn't fare much better. Afterwards he was like, "I just don't understand it, all the clues were right there but it was as if you guys couldn't see them." (I know I sure couldn't; I was continually keying in on stuff that had nothing to do with the actual mystery and just wasted the group's time and resources.) He later tried again with a simpler "detective story" in PbP with about the same results.
But I agree that trying new stuff is good! The only way to find out is to try...
(For what it's worth Almalik, I'm a player in a Carrion Crown PbEm. I dunno if it was the same "investigative section" you mentioned, but when our group hit the first clue-gathering/mystery phase... well, I don't really know how much useful information we actually gathered. I know all the questions I could come up with didn't seem to lead anywhere.)
As for the game in general, I've enjoyed the heck out of it (yes, even this mission). I like the wild'n'wacky mix of personalities we have going, and it's pretty great how we still somehow manage to be a cohesive team.
Anyway, I might "stutter" a little as I work to get everything spun up again, but after that I should be back on the original schedule. And I hate that I have to keep saying it, but: Thanks to everyone for your patience and understanding!

GM Dinuci |

Good to hear everyone's still on board!
Seeing that we are nearing the end of this scenario I would like to see which one you guys would like next. I have 5 scenario's ready to be played by now:
1) A nice 'quiet' holiday with everyone in the guild
2) Expansion of the guild, buying a mansion
3) More dwarves, the conclusion of that part of the story. With a promise of a weird surprise!
4) Snow white mini dungeon. Found them somewhere on the internet of things and thought why the hell not!
5) Something to do with small fey like creatures

Ama |

I love everything with fey, but I'm very curious about the holiday. Not sure which of those two I'd like most.
Guess I'll first see what the others would like to play!

Nagbur Damnstink |

You don't want to meet those dwarves...
And the quotes around "quiet" make me nervous. :op
I think I'd lean towards the fey or mini-dragon. But I'm with the majority, as I'm sure all the scenarios will be enjoyable!
Oh wait, you said Snow White mini-dungeon. Blink. Okay, that's different...

GM Dinuci |

Mini dragon? I missed that part... ;) And against you guys I won't use a mini dragon... That thing will be dead in mere seconds... One with a dragon will be coming up though, but not yet.
You won't actually have much to do with the dwarves in that adventure. You will take their mine back, ridding yourself of them!
Ranking so far:
1) Something to do with small fey like creatures [2 votes]
2) More dwarves, the conclusion of that part of the story. With a promise of a weird surprise! [1 for 1 against]
3) A nice 'quiet' holiday with everyone in the guild [1 for 1 against]
4) Snow white mini dungeon. Found them somewhere on the internet of things and thought why the hell not! [1 for? Maybe?]
5) Expansion of the guild, buying a mansion [Did I mention Haunted mansion?]

Fish Silverscale |

I'll vote Fey as well.
-Posted with Wayfinder

Almalik Fezana |

Although all of them intrigue me I'll gow ith fey just so that we get a clear majority decision.
