Leila Greentistle |
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Leila skips and bounces along the path after her taller companions. While she usually preferred to be up front, she recognized that it was probably better to let the warriors take that role in such hostile land. Nevertheless, she felt surprisingly focused and kept her eyes darting along the surrounding forest. Dazzle, the curious silver spotted arctic fox kept a steady pace with her.

Mog and Tal take the unwanted weapons, so they are at least armed.
2 small reptilian creatures avoid your gaze, and leap out from the undergrowth, and set upon poor Fuhr.
They don't get a charge due to the terrain, but he's denied his dex bonus.

One to the north attempts to grapple him, while the other one tries to hang on to him with just its fangs.
grab: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
grapple: 1d20 + 8 - 20 ⇒ (12) + 8 - 20 = 0
The quick warrior shaman isn't so easily manipulated, however, and fends off the bloodthirsty beasts for now.

We are attacked by lollipops :P?
Reptilian lollipops!
Also, I rolled real dice to see who they attacked, and it was Fuhr, twice. Nothing personal, man. At least it wasn't Leila. She'd be in a sorry state if that happened to her.
Maqli |
Sorry everybody, I've been really busy lately, and also got a virus that's been going around.
Maqli turns around quickly at the sound of somethings leaping out of the brush, and fires an arrow at the one to the south, sidestepping to get a clear shot.
Attack: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 10 + 1 + 2 - 2 = 28
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 + 4 = 11
GM Goblin King |
The chupacabra roars in pain as Maqli's arrow strikes true. Undeterred, it seeks easier prey, and tries to bite the halfling.
bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
claw: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
claw: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Its injury seem to be affecting its ability to fight, as Leila dodges it easily.
The one on Fuhr feels pretty good about getting a meal.

claw: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

It, too, isn't quick enough to latch on.

Leila's up.
Leila Greentistle |
The halfling sweeps her sling-staff towards the lizard, but she is seemingly more interested in keeping it at distance then inflicting real harm. Her position shifts slightly, as to let either Fuhr or Kraull step up and flank the critter.
To Hit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
"Away with you!"
Kraull |
The half-orc Warrior takes a few steps to put him in range of the lizard-like monster and strikes with his greataxe and bite.
Greataxe+PA: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Greataxe Damage: 1d12 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Bite Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
"These don't look like goblins." He astutely observes.
GM Goblin King |
Kraull hits the other chupacabra hard, slashing the vicious thing with a brutal blow.
Fuhr can flank Leila, or attack the one next to him.
Blask |
What sucks is I used both my spells against the snake. So until further notice; if my turns comes up I will spam acid splash. DMPC me with this action if needed to keep game moving please :)
round 1
acid: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (18) - 2 = 161d3 ⇒ 3
GM Goblin King |
Blask will hit and do 4 damage on either beast, on his turn. He's got that little rock. Fuhr is next.
Fuhr |
Hmph. Fools.Fuhr quickly steps aside, dodging some blows, and drew his trusty longspear, attempting to stab one in its shoulder.
To Hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Dmg: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
GM Goblin King |
Fuhr's thrust goes wide. Blask hits the one by Kraull.

Maqli moves around to get a clearer shot at the creature, firing another arrow at it. Aimed at the one at G8.

It dies.
The remaining monster seeks invigoration, and turns to the small target next to it.
bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Leila almost laughs at it. She also gets an attack of opportunity, then a full turn.

Leila continues to furiously hammer the lizards muzzle to keep the creature at a distance, while also distracting it. *Boinkboinkboinkboink*
GM Goblin King |
The snarling beast wasn't hurt this round, but it knows it's in trouble.
It withdraws and moves 60 to N 15.
Fuhr |
I could be wrong, because I don't recall the fella's starting position, but due to Combat REflexes, do I get an AoO despite his withdrawing? Just asking to make sure - I won't roll it until you give an answer.
Oh no you don't!
Taking one hand off of his longspear, Fuhr took a small step forward as he pulled out another javelin. He clenched his fist, causing the tip to once again erupt into flames, and hurled it at the fleeing monster, only for his aim to be untrue yet again.
To hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Blask moves closer and fires.
acid: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 = 14
dmg: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Hurt it, but it's not down. Maybe Maqli can finish it off.
Maqli |
Maqli begins giving chase to the other creature and fires another arrow at it.
Attack: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 1 + 2 - 2 = 31
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 1 + 2 - 2 = 16

Crit Damage: 2d8 + 4 + 2 + 8 ⇒ (4, 3) + 4 + 2 + 8 = 21
GM Goblin King |
Splat!
Maqli's arrow is enough to bring it down. The trail leads west. Survival checks to get an idea who or what you're following.
Leila Greentistle |
"Hold still just a moment!"
The tiny halfling and her spotty fox dashes over to the imposing orc. Leila retrieves her pouch filled with various odds and ends - spell components - and sings a quick incantation. Her hand glows faintly blue and she touches one of the half-orcs many wounds and it starts to close.
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
"There! At-least a little bit better!" she chirps.
Leila Greentistle |
"Maybe all you need is a good-luck charm!" the halfling laughs, smiling. She retrieves a piece of string and a pair of feathers from her backpack, and scrutinizes the later for a moment. With a quick nod to herself she picks the larger one, a ruffled grey feather and ties it to the string and holds up for the half-orc to take. "There! Perhaps it will tip the scales!"
Note, Leila's charm is mostly superstition - it doesn't actually do much. Yet ... :D
Leila Greentistle |
"It brings you good luck!" the halfling smiles. "You carry it to attract good luck spirits." She steps back and tilts her head to the side, her eyes wandering between the feather and the sizeable warrior. With a thoughtful expression she adds "You might need an even bigger charm since you are so big or -" *musical laughter* "- this might be more then necessary since you are so tall!"
Maqli |
"Is that magic?" Maqli asks without really looking to the token, focused on tracking.
Survival: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22+2 for tracking
Blask |
Blask thinks back to his own tribe. The young ones did the same thing, United before they exiled him. I suppose knowledge and wisdom of years means nothing. Sad really
GM Goblin King |
You are sure that the carcasses are worthless. You also have no trouble picking up the trail and having an idea of their numbers as you follow the tracks across the stream.
There are at least a dozen hobgoblins, 2 or 3 bugbears, and maybe 6 or so humans, 2 of them small sized. They're about 8 hours ahead of you.
GM Goblin King |
Do you want to hustle, rest, or just move normally? Oh, and you're heading east. I think I said west earlier.
GM Goblin King |
Leila has the idea. Taking them all on at once is too much. A little clever skirmishing could even the odds.
Blask |
Trying to take out the group of them would be near suicide I think. The only chance we have is to split their mass. I am out of sync with the earth, and will be no good unless I can recharge the bond.
