Humans dominate the world of Golarion today. Before the time of metal and powerful magic, that wasn't so. They were primitive. Everything was.

Right. You're close by, though. You will hear this.

Maqli examines the hobgoblin corpse. He sees very little blood, but he notices several puncture wounds; the kind delivered by dangerous venomous snakes.

BIG venomous snakes!

Thanks to his keen senses, the young warrior is not surprised by the huge 2-headed monstrosity coiled and lurking in the canopy above.

Its cover blown, the amphisbaena hisses loudly in true stereo.

It's still 10' above Maqli's head, and getting ready to drop on him and smother him in kisses.

Leila and Fuhr definitely heard that. They will get close enough to join the fight in 2d4 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4 rounds.

Krull's up first. Click on the MAP.

King of Goblins *MAP*

Sorry. I meant "Kraull!"

Hearing some hissing noises in the canopy, the warrior moves towards Maqli's position to investigate. Looking up, he sees yet another weird monster and reacts by tossing a javelin at it.

EDIT: And I hope we aren't using fumble type rules...

King of Goblins *MAP*

Stumbling over the uneven and treacherous undergrowth, Maqli's shot goes wide.

No, I find the fumble/crit cards a little cruel. Missing is bad enough.

Perhaps Blask can put his considerable brainpower to work on this problem.

Blask, wracks his brain for the best possible way to defeat the beast.

if I know or don't know if Cause Fear will work:

Blask draws forth on the creatures worst fears and hopefully causes it to slither away as fast as it can, DC 15 will save

If I know Cause Fear will fail:

Blask, opens his pouch, and grabs a bit of dried ash. He rubs it on his palms, then points his palm towards the snake-like creature. From it, a bolt of fire goes streaking through the air, towards the enemy.

Fort Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

"Gah, not again!" Kraull yells, angry at the sudden bite. He channels that rage into another attack, this time with his greataxe and, to make it even, a bite.

Kraull makes the save, and won't be poisoned. Even with two strong attacks, he fails to harm the magical beast (AC 19).

Its scales are hard, though the creature moves quickly. You get the impression that its skin could make for some good, lightweight armor.

It flees, granting Kraull an attack of opportunity, then it's Maqli's turn.

Greataxe: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

Attack: 1d20 + 10 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 10 + 2 - 2 = 26

The shaft hits its mark, and Maqli begins to give chase to the fleeing creature. Move action after it.

Krull
Amphisbaena
Maqli
Blask

The new players can be there in 1 more round, if they choose.

Angry he didn't hit the creature last time, Kraull charges the monster and swings his mighty ax!

Which hits the ground by his feet to great effect.

"What terrible curse has befallen me?!?" The warrior laments staring in revulsion at his once powerful arms.

Maybe Maqli can roll something with 2 digits.

A few moments earlier.

A sudden sound made Leila look up from the piece of wood she had leisurely started to carve during their short pause. First she glanced at Dazzle, her constant companion. The fox sat up in rapt attention, ears and nose pointed into the forest showing that he too had heard it. Then she shot a smile at her more recent, alot taller, companion.

"Come Fuhr! Maybe it is some hobgoblins for you to kill."

With the hushed whisper, she sat up and stealthily started moving towards the mysterious sound with Dazzle at her side. And maybe it is real people! she thought, exited by the prospect.

There. We're moving : )

Yeah, you would. I'll add 1 to that damage.

Click on the *MAP* thing under my name and place yourself where you want.

To place yourself, click a square. Type your name, and then click some other square, and you're done.

To remove your name in your old square after you move, click it and hit delete. Don't worry about the blue box.

Blask is up, and the n00bs will be within 30' of the thing next round.

Roll initiative while you're waiting. I usually roll it, but not this time.

Fuhr finally came into view of the chase. It appeared to be a two-headed snake of some sort...and it looked like it was fleeing. A pity that he was about to cut off its escape route. He hustles closer to the fracas, drawing a javelin as he did so. Channeling the primal energy within him, he passed his hand over its tip - and as he did so, it burst into flames. Fuhr grinned as he tossed the weapon at the snake. Fire always made him smile...and yet, he was crestfallen as the attack barely missed the creature. Thankfully, the fire was only temporary, so there would be no resulting damage to the forest.

Move closer while taking out javelin, use FIYAH rage power, toss it.

"Wah, where did that javelin come from?" Kraull ponders out loud, but doesn't take time to worry about it when there's monster killing to do. He charges the creature again, hoping desperately that his greataxe won't let him down this time.

It came from here. Fuhr steps forward, alongside Leila. We heard the chase going on, and figured it was better than doing nothing. My name is Fuhr. This is Brightmane, Leila and Dazzle. The mildly short man nodded in turn at his allies. So...are you folks here hunting goblins as well?

Inactive

"Hail! I am Kraull, the old man is Blask, and the man with the fancy bow is Maqli. Thanks for the help. We're just helping those people over there," The half-orc points to the man and girl standing nearby, "Their tribe was taken and we're trying to find them. After that, we're going to the large gathering over yonder to do some trading."

Kraull moves over to the dead monster, retrieves his javelins still stuck inside it, and asks the newcomers, "Is your tribe nearby? Did the goblins attack you?"

Female | Hp 24/24 | AC 17/14/14 | CMD 14 | Fort +3 Ref +7 Will +6 | Init +3 | Per +8, low-light vision |

Leila emerges from the undergrowth with a small burst of leaves as Fuhr calls her name, with Dazzle the fox right behind her. She curiously glances at the dead creature then shoots a sunny smile at the gathered party. People - yey! she tought.

"You're going to the big market? I *love* to visit the market!"

The halfling bounces with energy for a while before realizing the half-orc said more things. She slows a bit and gives the man and the girl a worried look. She continues in a slower tone.

"No, my tribe is far from here..." *sigh* "... but we could probably help!"

The more the merrier! she thought, her mood quickly shifting back to the normal jovial state.

King of Goblins *MAP*

As you're getting acquainted, you find the hobgoblin again has a longbow, morningstar and a dagger.

The snake has nothing but some very tough, scaly skin, in a beautiful pattern.

Inactive

"Yeah, sure. You seem like good folk." Kraull gives his approval as he looks over the snake corpse, "Probably some good meat here. Any of you good at skinning?"

That would be Maqli as he nods in his direction.

I can hold the creature if you want. Any way you could extract venom from the beast?

Can we milk it? How many doses? DC to get some and any chance to poison self?

King of Goblins *MAP*

Try a knowledge nature check. If you know enough about it, you can safely extract 4 doses. Treat it as amphisbaena poison in the book.

Still a 5% chance to poison yourself when you put it on a weapon.

Vesk Soldier (Armor Storm) 3 | SP [3/36] HP: [34/34] RP: [7/7] | EAC: 18 KAC: 20 CMD: 23 Intimidate +8 | Profession Mercenary +10 | Per +0 | Athletics +11 |

Maqli nods to the newcomers as he immediately sets to skinning the snake-creature, not even waiting for the others to suggest it. "Getting poison from this will take some skill, but I may be able to. The skin is the finest part, it seems." He draws his knife and begins carefully cutting the hide from the flesh, trying to keep it all in one piece, working slowly.

I'd like to take 20 if possible on this, so presuming it's a Survival check, that'd get me a 30.

Seeing the others discuss the fate of the dead snake, Leila instead admires its skin. It had such a beautiful pattern! Imagine what wonders one could trade that one for - imagine what marvels it could be! Blinking, she snapped out of her short daydream as Maqli started to work. She didn't know much about skinning (or milking poison for that matter), but she did know craftsmen often appreciated a pair of helpful steady hands.

King of Goblins *MAP*

There's no rush. You get the poison and the skin with no problem. Properly crafted, it could make some very tough armor.

"Anyone know how to make armor out of that?" Kraull asks once the creature is skinned. Regardless of the answer, he shrugs and looks for more tracks, "We'll worry about it later, we got goblin skulls to crush."
