| Some Random Goblin |
Chuffy stabs at one of the eagles.
Dogslicer: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 2 = 26, for 1d4 - 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) - 1 + (4, 2) = 7 damage.
He then climbs out of the pie.
Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19.

In order to get sneak attack damage, you have to be in a flanking position, which I previously noted requires a move action. Also, I need to know which eagle you're attacking. 2 is undamaged, 4 is hurt by Reta. I rolled for the other ones because they were all the same previously. If you want to not bother with getting the flank, you can climb out (unless of course someone decides to try to stop you).
Reta BB
|
Reta attempts to drag down Chuffy before he escapes the pie. She decides the best way to do so is to stab his hand as he goes to grab the edges.
attack of opportunity: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 8 - 4 = 81d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
When Reta gets her next chance to move, she swings her dogslicer again at the eagle she has targeted. Eagle 4
attacking eagle: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 8 - 4 = 121d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
If the eagle succumbs to her attack, Reta will attempt to climb out of the vile stew. climb: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 6 - 4 = 6
| Mic Chuffy |
Mic tried to free Bruna.... Didn't make an attack roll because he could see the rope. Failed to escape the pie though.
GM Paladin

Correct, free goblins can cut other goblins free as a standard action. Still need to know which eagle Chuffy is attacking, and whether he's taking the move action to move into flanking, or using that move to climb out instead.
GM Paladin

OK, to avoid further delay: Chuffy was attacking Eagle 2, did 1 damage, and then tried to climb out of the pie. Reta tried to attack him, but missed. Eagle 4 tried to attack him as well, but also missed.
Chuffy emerges from the pie, dripping with eagle blood, spoiled milk, mud, and other unmentionable liquids. All the other goblins cheer uproariously.
Reta angrily attacks and kills one of the remaining eagles (number 4).
Now only one eagle remains, and Poog is the only goblin still tied up. (Poor Poog!)
Everyone except for Reta and Chuffy may act.
AoO from 4 on Chuffy: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 3 - 4 = 14
GM Paladin

Anyone want to try to trip or do something else to Mogmurch? The remaining Eagle can't take an AoO.
GM Paladin
|
Right you are, I overlooked that last sentence of your post.
Shortly after Chuffy emerges, Reta does as well, followed by Mogmurch. One final eagle remains to kill.
| Poog the Sagacious |
Poog finally manages to slice some of the ropes with his dogslicer.
dogslicer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 211d4 ⇒ 2
I will say that Poog has been bombing big time. I guess as a goblin it is more fun to suck than with a standard character because it's part of the show. That said, these events, in both the first and now this scenario, are all very much geared toward the martial characters.

I agree. I would probably have skipped some of these or replaced them with my own content if this wasn't for PFS.
One eagle remains, badly wounded. It sees itself surrounded by three murderous - looking goblins, and hunches its wings around itself, trying to make itself look bigger and more threatening.
Mic, Poog, and Goog may act. The eagle is not attacking.

| Mic Chuffy |
sorry, have been swamped with wedding stuff.
Mic cuts free any of his fellow goblins and tries to climb out.
climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Failing to do so..... He shouts up to those out of the pie. "Gove me boost."

Goog sticks the final eagle with his dogslicer, and the assembled Birdcrunchers give a cheer! Some of them run forward to help the remaining goblins out of the pie.
I'll have point totals up tomorrow. Too late for me tonight.
GM Paladin

Wise Mummy Sprattleharsh, who seems to be better at math than any goblin you've ever met before, totals up the scores.
"Chuffy killed a bird and made it out first, getting fifteen points! Reta killed a bird as well, and made it out second getting ten! Mogmurch made it out third, gettting three! Goog and Mic each killed one bird, getting five each!
"Final totals! Poog is last with two points! Goog second last with eleven! Mic have fifteen! Reta have sixteen! Mogmurch have nineteen! But our new chief, with twenty-nine, is CHUFFY!!"
The Birdcrunchers give a cheer, and two of them run up with a crown made of bird bones and feathers, placing it on Chuffy's pustular head.
The Crunchy Crown is non-magical, but gives a +2 circumstance bonus to Intimidate checks made against members of the Birdcruncher tribe of goblins.
"Chuffy is chief, and all of Chuffy's friends are subchieftans! You chiefs get the chief's treasure box!"
The PCs are ushered into the chief's cave and open a large and filthy chest. There are coins, art, trophies, jars of pickles, shiny rocks, dented armor fragments, broken dogslicers, some bird parts in various stages of decay, and most interesting:
4 potions of cure moderate wounds
a potion of fire resistance
a wand of lesser restoration (9 charges)
a +1 flaming dogslicer
a cloak of elvenkind (small)
a bead of force
a necklace of fireballs (type I)
and 5 ounces of sovereign glue

It seems that leaves Mic up to three potions of Cure Moderate and a potion of fire resistance.
The exhausted (and partially exsanguinated) new chieftans fall into a well-earned sleep, and are met the next morning with cheers and a big meal of bird pie -- not the foul muck that was used last night, but actual baked pie with birds (mostly songbirds) in it. One of the Birdcrunchers is an unexpectedly talented chef.
Wise Mummy Sprattleharsh has a few cure spells to fix any lingering burns or eagle scratches, and the nights rest and sumptuous breakfast has brought everyone's stirge-caused weakness to imperceptible levels.
Everyone's Con damage is either entirely healed or down to 1, in Chuffy's case, which causes no penalties.
"Now is time for Great Chieftan Chuffy, and Nearly-as-Great Sub-chieftains Reta, Mic, Goog, Poog, and Mogmurch to go free us from the hideous Pa Munchmeat! Unless you need another day to get ready?" Her skeptical look suggests that unless you want your reign as chief to be a short one, the Birdcrunchers will not tolerate much of a delay.
Mummy gives the PCs a crude map of the valley showing where Pa Munchmeat's farm is, and gives them some advice.
"Pa Munchmeat is Ogre. He hits hard, and does spooky magic with plants and stuff. His daughter is mean and has a pet weasel bigger than a horse! His fire-breathing pigs breathe fire! Might be other animals too! Be careful and bring home the pigs after you kill them if you can!"
| Mic Chuffy |
Mic makes sure to stash the fire heal potion away (resistance) and looks at Mummy. "Don't worry Mum, Mic will take care of the magic user."

The Birdcruncher tribe follows you to the beginning of the path that leads to Pa Munchmeat's farm. They nervously watch you as you walk along, following Sprattleharsh's crude map.
Please update your profiles with the gear you got from the treasure box. Some of it changes your stats so we need to keep track of it.
A good amount of time (goblins don't have any concept of "45 minutes" but if they did, that'd be how long it was) after leaving, the new chiefs come upon one of the landmarks on Wise Mummy's map -- a cluster of huckleberry bushes.
I've placed your icons on the map, please move them into whatever marching order you prefer. The green cloud things are bushes. They are very dense, and provide cover if you hide behind them.
Mogmurch Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Chuffy Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Mic Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Reta Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Poog Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Goog Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

The landmark, I should have clarified, is an indication you've reached the edge of Pa Munchmeat's farmland.
GM Paladin

The directions gave to you by Sprattleharsh indicate that the farmhouse is in a valley directly northwest of the huckleberry patch.
Giving people a chance to move their icon to where they want to be in the group before moving on.

That's slightly disturbing.
You all hear an excited squeal, followed by a grunting, gulping noise coming from behind one of the huckleberry bushes.
That was the surprise round of a combat, where you all rolled less than the stealth roll of the opponent (modified for distance). All of you beat it in initiative, however, so you get to all react to the sound, before it does whatever it's about to do.
Combat order:
Chuffy
Goog
Poog
Mic
Reta
Mogmurch
Piggy
Piggy Init: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Chuffy init: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Goog init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Mic init: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Mogmurch init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Poog init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Reta init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Those who come around the bush see:
An enormous boar decked out in leather barding, with tendrils of smoke rising from the corners of his mouth.
| Mic Chuffy |
Once Mic sees the boar, he will jump into the bush and attempt to hide..

The huckleberry bushes are very dense. You'll need an Escape Artist check, DC 15, to wiggle into it sufficiently to gain concealment and use stealth, and the same to get back out again. While in the bush, you'll count as Squeezing.
