Oret Terra |
Assuming all is safe now, Oret takes some time to regain his sense, and heal the injured. "Thank you for your support Kel, this creature must be stopped at all cost, let us take some time to regain our strength and make ways to eliminate the foe!"
Wand CLW on Kel: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Drop weapon, draw wand of CLW and use on Kel.

Damage on Minata: 1d6 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 6 + (3) = 12
Flaming Spear on Minata: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

Concentration: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Ranged Touch: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Acid Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2
1d4 ⇒ 3
As Oret beings to triage his allies wounds and Nemesis beings to shake off the nausea, Minata finds himself alone in the noxious cloud below. Blessedly, the magical mist disappears into the floor. Unfortunately, the mists can no longer offer protection from the flaming spear that strikes Minata with devastating flame as Brae-Hagen reappears, sending him crashing to the floor. Contemptuously, the warlord flicks a spatter of acid from his fingers onto the prone Pathfinder, which Minata thankfully cannot feel.
Oret
Minata (Damage: 53, Unconscious, Bleeding)
Nemesis (Damage: 1NL, Nauseated-1 round past)
Kel (Damage: 13)
Dryden (Damage: 25)
Brae-Hagen (Damage: 46)
Nemesis did not use the previously rolled channel, as Kel got her out of there before she could act. If Minata has anything to protect against some of the fire or acid damage, let me know so I can adjust the damage total.
Oret Terra |
Unaware of the threat to Minata's life below, Oret continues to tend to the wounds of Kel as Nemesis recovers from his condition.
CLW wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Kel-Aurthraxis Maleocorr |
Kel nods his thanks to Oret, as he is nearly returned to full health...but also remains unaware to what's happening two floors below unless someone shares information through the Message spell.
Kel has a bit more hp than you have on your tracker, TOZ, just fyi. As for the rest...good luck, Dryden! Remember you have Message up so you can tell us what's going on!
Grandmaster TOZ |
Oret
Minata (Damage: 54, Unconscious, Bleeding)
Nemesis (Damage: 1NL)
Kel (Damage: 8)
Dryden (Damage: 25)
Brae-Hagen (Damage: 46)
Kel, what healing did I miss? Also, I believe I mis-counted the rounds, so Nemesis should be un-nauseated now.
Kel-Aurthraxis Maleocorr |
Here you go:
Kel-Aurthraxis Maleocorr |
I was hoping to hear from Dryden's and Nemesis's turns before taking Kel's actions, as it might change depending on what (if any) information is broadcast through the message)...
Nemesis Melek |
Well, I've got some nice weapons, a bunch of fire magic of various sorts that's unlikely to be very (if at all) effective, a cure light wounds wand, a potion of see invisibility, a few non-pyromantic offensive spells prepared that are unlikely to be of much help, virtue, and the full ire of my Channeling.
Would it be worth it, all things considered, for me to bestow virtue on anyone?
Dryden Nightember |
Sorry I was waiting also...not sure for what but here goes. After moving up the ladder to join the remaining companions. Then for
the immediate future Dryden uses his healing wand to heal is injuries.
UMD: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 211d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
If there is time he will heal again
UMD: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 331d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
If there is no time for that and the demon is hot on our tails then I will set up to attack it once I get to standing on one of the floors.
Grandmaster TOZ |
Dryden moves up to the floor above, preparing for the enemy to follow behind.
Oret
Minata (Damage: 54, Unconscious, Bleeding)
Nemesis (Damage: 1NL)
Kel (Damage: 4)
Dryden (Damage: 25)
Brae-Hagen (Damage: 46)
Kel and Nemesis still have their actions for the round.
Kel-Aurthraxis Maleocorr |
Kel mentally inventories his remaining spells and equipment. "It seemss everyone up here who still live are breathing better. Shall we return to it, friendss?"
Kel will use the other wand he drew - Bless (+1 Morale bonus to Attack and Saves vs Fear for 1 minute / 10 rounds).
He will then dump both that wand and the wand he used on Oret a few seconds earlier into his bag, but still holding on to the one he had in-hand before the dimension door (CMW).
"I only have a few offensive spells, and the warlord iss likely to deflect much of their effects...but I will do whatever I can."
Nemesis Melek |
Nemesis reaches out to Kel-Aurthraxis with her wand, a plain, polished eucalyptus shaft tipped with a pyramidal sapphire.
cure light wounds wand on Kel-Aurthraxis: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
His pain momentarily intensifies before subsiding, as though the wound was cauterized.
Dryden Nightember |
"We must put an end to that thing down there but we have no answers to the gas that lingers in the room. We wait for it to dissipate or we engage him out of that room and the advantage he has. Until then lets us prepare."
Kel-Aurthraxis Maleocorr |
Through the Message, "We shall come to you, Dryden..." Kel closes his eyes for a moment before continuing, "...was Minata taken, too?"
Thanks, Nemesis
Grandmaster TOZ |
Worse, it's not a saving throw. Natural 20s don't auto succeed.
Scratch that, they included wording in the stabilize check text to fix that.
Kel-Aurthraxis Maleocorr |
who's turn is it again?
Grandmaster TOZ |
That would be yours, it looks like. Nemesis has taken her action to heal Kel. I'm a little unsure of your actions as it looks like you're planning to draw two wands on top of your cure wand, cast bull's strength on Oret, and then put them back.
Kel-Aurthraxis Maleocorr |
One error I did make - Kel could not have recovered the CMW wand from its weapon cord at the same time as putting away the other two wands - I momentarily blanked on the rules change about grabbing items hanging from weapon cords (when I first made Kel and put notes on his sheet it was still a swift action to do that). So that part I'll definitely retract.
Grandmaster TOZ |
As Dryden begins to climb the ladder to the rest of the party, the sound of leathery wings heralds the appearance of the warlord. Or it would, if Dryden could see in the darkness still radiating from the half-fiend. "Come, warrior. Come and die like your allies."
Oret
Minata (Damage: 54, Unconscious, Bleeding)
Nemesis (Damage: 1NL)
Kel (Damage: 1)
Dryden (Damage: 25)
Brae-Hagen (Damage: 46)
Party is up!.
Dryden Nightember |
Starting Spell Dance anew and will use the fly ability to use it to fly up to the room above to join the others so that we can all fight it together. AC is 28/32 vs AoO
Oret Terra |
"We must assist Dryden! It is worrying that Minata has not spoke." Oret draws his arms, and moves towards his ally.
Oret will drop his wand, pick up his weapon as a move action, and take another move action to climb down the ladder to the second floor.
Kel-Aurthraxis Maleocorr |
...Is Dryden flying up to us or is Oret dropping down to join Dryden? It is a rather big difference depending on which one is happening.
Oret Terra |
I have assumed Dryden flew from first to second, so Oret would move down to second to meet him?
Dryden Nightember |
Yes we all need to take this thing on together. Lets all meet up top if we are able. There is only one way to enter into the room and that gives up an advantage for defense. That may buy us enough time to really regroup to prepare.
Dryden continues to fly up to meet up at the top floor asking Oret to ascend as well.
Oret Terra |
Okay, should GM allow, Oret will not move down, and just pick up his weapon while stowing his wand properly instead of dropping it.
Grandmaster TOZ |
Dryden and Oret notice the darkness receding from the room below. The rushing air caused by the warlords wings becomes fainter.
Oret
Minata (Damage: 54, Unconscious, Bleeding)
Nemesis (Damage: 1NL)
Kel (Damage: 1)
Dryden (Damage: 25)
Brae-Hagen (Damage: 46)
What will the party do now?
Dryden Nightember |
If Dryden makes it to the top floor he will grab a piece of furniture and cover the hole in the floor so that the demon doesn't come up unannounced.
"We must prepare. Heal as we can and bolster ourselves as we can. I have a spell to hasten us all and I also can make someone invisible if that can help." Dryden cast a longer lasting spell the first moment he can. Mirror image. After that he will heal himself using the wand then just before going down to attack the demon he will throw haste.
UMD: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 201d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
UMD: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 161d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
UMD: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 231d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
UMD: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 341d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
UMD: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 311d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 He will keep casting the cures until healed unless something else comes up
Lorian the Peacemaker |
Not sure but the wand got locked for the day with the "1" on the second check
Stabilize: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Lorian/Minata is dead unless someone can get to him with Breath of Life in the next round.
Kel-Aurthraxis Maleocorr |
It looks like Dryden's intent was to put furniture on top of the ladder-hole and then cast Mirror Image, with the intent of using a curing wand in future rounds...I think? If that is, in fact, the case, these are Kel's actions for this round:
Once Dryden is up top and covers the hole, Kel nods and channels positive energy to heal him and remove the last of his and Nemesis's wounds, hopeful that if the warlord is below, the furniture will block the channeling effect.
Channel Positive Energy: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 3, 3) = 18
Note: If the hole is not blocked-up enough to prevent the spell from reaching down, Kel will take a move action to look down to make sure the area is empty (Invisibility Purge is still up for several minutes) before channeling so he doesn't heal the warlord.
If that's not what Dryden was doing, I might reconsider Kel's actions? In any event...sorry, Lorian - will do the best I can to get you back for a raise at least - Kel has the Silver Crusade thing that makes raise dead 25% cheaper, at least.
Dryden Nightember |
Sorry the 1st round I want to cover the hole ...not sure if demons can teleport freely in this area...then cast mirror image the next round. Then start casting heals to heal up until either we get attacked or plan to attack....then I will cast haste on the party. That is why I showed I was casting CLW off the wand in succession in case I had that many rounds to heal but figuring something may change my plans.
Oret Terra |
Oret stands by the trapdoor, ready to make a move the fiend should make an appearance.
Ready action to attack anything that steps through the trap door.
Ready Mwk Morningstar, Bull's Strength: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 2 = 17B: 1d8 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 2 = 15
Nemesis Melek |
Nemesis grips her unholy symbol in anticipation....
Ready action to Channel Negative Energy as soon as Brae-Hagen shows up, excluding the party.
negative energy damage, DC 17 Will save for half: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4
Grandmaster TOZ |
Will Save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
As Oret and Dryden move to cover the trapdoor, a shadow falls on the room, but is quickly blotted out by Kel's daylight. "Now your end is at hand, mortals." Brae-Hagen snarls, descending into the room from the trap door above. He barely flinches as Nemesis assaults him with dark power, hovering near the ceiling with spear at hand.
Oret
Kel (Damage: 0)
Dryden (Damage: 7)
Nemesis (Damage: 0)
Brae-Hagen (Damage: 42)
Party is up! He is currently out of reach unless you have a reach weapon.
Nemesis Melek |
Why did he heal 6 hit points between last round and this?
Nemesis doesn't let up so easily, and another burning chill sweeps through the room....
Channel Negative Energy (excluding party, of course), DC 17 Will save for half: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10
Grandmaster TOZ |
Will Save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
The warlord grimaces, but seems mostly unfazed. ”I see we have a volunteer...” he growls.
Oret
Kel (Damage: 0)
Dryden (Damage: 7)
Nemesis (Damage: 0)
Brae-Hagen (Damage: 53)
I typed a 2 instead of an 8 when adding the damage. I shouldn’t post right after waking up.
Dryden Nightember |
Seeing that the demon has worked an advantage against the party he sees what he can do to make that advantage less affective. Think its a move action to take out the wand of blade lash then swift for spell combat then one attack I think.
UMD on wand: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
melee attack with the benefit of blade lash 20' range: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 231d6 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16 Gets a free trip attack, gets +10 from the spell whatever that may do when it is flying...may help
trip: 1d20 + 6 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 10 = 34
Grandmaster TOZ |
Dryden would know that flying opponents cannot be tripped. I'm also pretty sure he can't spell combat it without the wand wielder arcana.
Oret Terra |
"You'll have to go through me!" Oret plants himself in front of Nemesis, taunting the fiend.
Move and Ready action.
Ready Mwk Morningstar, Bull's Strength: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 7 + 2 = 21 B: 1d8 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 2 = 12
