I am humored.

Ery... be prepared to be kissed and punched by Gwen at the same time when he is finally brought back to life!
I'd love to RP the interactions with the PCs at their factions as they call in the favors to provide Ery with a Restoration spell, by the way...
Lastly, this battle is going to prove difficult for Gwen I think. In a moment she is going to remember what terrible events she caused by rushing off by herself during the last fight...

The fabled 'punch-kiss' eh? I have heard stories of such a technique being had through many-a-nerd-medium but never have I actually witnessed it.
Dear god...

Locke, the drastic mood changer that is the hipster and dog...I want to kill them...more then they already are.

![]() |

just kinda out of place. Besides, if the hipster died earlier...wouldn't make sense that they are WAY ahead in line?

Hey all, just wanted to let you know that I'm heading to Florida for vacation/visit family (my mother is having a hysterectomy and colon resection on 3/9 to take out some cancer) on 3/11 and will be gone until 3/18. I will not have any of my resources with me so my activity will likely be minimal to nil during that time!

acknowledged.

Concerning the roleplaying:
Keep in mind you only have to approach your faction if you're going to spend PP. You're using gold for the Raise Dead spell, which I imagine will be cast in a temple dedicated to Calistria.
At least one person casting Restoration has to be present at the temple when Ery's raised, because one Restoration spell has to be cast directly after Raise Dead. Else Ery will have negative levels equal to his level and immediately die again.

Fiona, just wanted to let you know... Gwen hasn't forgotten about you and your meltdown. She's just too preoccupied with getting Ery back, then she'll approach you about what happened! :)
Also, thanks everyone for the wishes about my mother. Hopefully everything goes smoothly.

Very sorry to hear that, Vicard will be missed. Locke, looks like you will be our new skill monkey! Anyone interested in picking up a way to locate and disarm mundane and magical traps??

![]() |

A bomb can be used in place of trap monkies.

![]() |

Isn't there a discovery that allows an alchemist to use their bombs to disable traps?? I could be thinking of something completely different though...

![]() |

Thank you all, for the kind words. Means a lot. You guys are an awesome group.
I won't be joining, but I'll be keeping an idle eye on this game. Keep up the good work!

![]() |

You'll be missed Vic. But no worries.
I still think a bomb that have a force effect (Like trip or bulrush) Should be able to trigger traps.

![]() |

I too am very sorry to hear your decision Vicard, but understand completely.
Best wishes for whatever game you join next, they are getting a great player!

Hey Steph, just wanted to double check with you on this... I used Gwen's Grapple CMB (without the Dan Bong bonus) to determine the DC for the escape check as opposed to her standard CMB bonus. I feel the Grapple CMB is appropriate, because it's acting as a Pin effect which would utilize the Grapple rules and I believe that since her Grapple CMB differs from her standard CMB (due to Improved Grapple and her magic items) that would be the one to use. Please let me know if I made a mistake and we can adjust as necessary!
If you have your target pinned, otherwise restrained, or unconscious, you can use rope to tie him up. This works like a pin effect, but the DC to escape the bonds is equal to 20 + your Combat Maneuver Bonus (instead of your CMD). The ropes do not need to make a check every round to maintain the pin. If you are grappling the target, you can attempt to tie him up in ropes, but doing so requires a combat maneuver check at a –10 penalty. If the DC to escape from these bindings is higher than 20 + the target's CMB, the target cannot escape from the bonds, even with a natural 20 on the check.

I ran this one and i've got to say.....the approach Urbar did is about the polar opposite of what the team did back then. :)
They approached via caution and the paladin rolled a great diplomacy.
Of course...this gave the guard space to walk in and warn everybody inside. Oh, that fight.....was grand....

![]() |

That's way to obvious! Why not just barge in through the front unannounced!
I will be on a trip later this week by the way! From the 6th to the 10th. I expect to have little to no internet. As a heads up!

![]() |

I know, it's obvious, but barging in would have gotten guards called too.
Had it not been for the sylph not paying attention, and shooting a bystander, they'd not have the guards called.
Anyway, we're going to have some fun now.

![]() |

Did someone say something about a great diplomacy roll?
When given lemons, make lemonade.
When given Guards, have them do the work for you....

![]() |

I really hope you all are ok with the direction I took this encounter.
It seemed to make more sense then trying to carve our way through the crew and the guards.
