Paladin of Baha-who? |

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 3–7.
The Pathfinders are sent to the Sanos Forest in central Varisia to assist an agent researching the fey who inhabit the remote wood. But like many seemingly routine tasks in a Pathfinder's adventuring career, the simple support mission quickly turns into an adventure the PCs aren't soon to forget—presuming they survive.

Player: Dien
Character: Dorn Gritstone
R/C/L: Dwarf Barbarian 4 (Unchained Barbarian, superstitious archetype)
Faction: Grand Lodge
Notes: I'll have to check my sheets, nothing off the top of my head
Blurb: A somewhat brain-damaged and violent dwarf who dislikes magic users. A lot. But he's really a nice guy, honest....
Note: At last count, I had... *squints* five characters who are somewhere between levels three and seven and aren't tied up in other games right now. So if a different level of character works better, or if we wind up with a noticeable party gap, I can always swap something out.

I'd like to bring in this guy, he is in a game, but will finish before the date.

A quiet type that can't do much outside combat. Hey he is a fighter, with what they get and 2+int skill ranks per level there is not much you can roleplay with or do outside combat.

As I understand things, Avril, the Gameday rules mean that we can't start early. However, I'm not the GM, so take my understanding of things with a grain of salt.
So far it looks like:
1. Orophin - Oracle 3
2. Dorn Gritstone - Barbarian 4
3. Evilminion's [class/level]
4. Zac Freelan - Fighter 6
5. Avril Axiel - Summoner 4
6. Beromir - Druid 3

It's looking like we're definitely going to be low tier (3-4), by the way. The only way we could do it otherwise is if EvilMinion brings in a level 7 character, which would put us at exactly 4.5, which lets us decide whether to play up with the 4-player adjustment, or down.
While we're waiting, then, I could run the quest Fane of Fangs which grants no XP or PP, but does give a few nifty boons. It requires use of the level 5 pregens, which are the 4 new classes in the Pathfinder Unchained book, and can be assigned to any 4-6 character (or held for a character once it reaches that level). The level range means that several of the characters here would be able to make use of the boons, if they desired.

Avril is now updated (though I should probably format her better), but I'm struggling at what to buy with my gold. At least I have gold, so it's a good problem to have. I can afford either upgrading my cloak of resistance, getting an admantium lance or I can get feather step slippers for Cryxial. Can an eidolon wear feather step slippers? I can't upgrade my masterwork lance to an adamantium lance right? I have to sell it first?

Any special rules, boons, or corner cases you need to let me know about: Avril is using undersized mount to ride her eidolon, a lance together with ride-by-attack and pounce for the eidolon. In combat she'll usually charge at an enemy, attack with her lance then continue along the same line so cryxial can pounce (at the same enemy if it's still alive).
(Optional) A one or two-sentence blurb about your character:
Avril is extremely short for a human, though given her stature she quite muscular. She got long brown hair often tied up in a tight ponytail and brown eyes. She is clad in a nice shining silvery breastplate with a huge lance almost as tall as herself. When she first became a pathfinder she was quite distrustful of humans, she did not have good experiences back in Cheliax. However after a number of experiences together with other pathfinders she has started to accept them.

You would have to buy a new lance, that's correct. (If the old lance has sentimental value, you could flavor it as paying someone to remove the handle and non-metal parts and fitting them to a new adamantine pointy-bit, but it would cost exactly the same as buying a new one.)
As far as I can see, eidolons can wear anything their summoners can, except that you share item slots, so if your eidolon is summoned and is wearing the slippers, you can't wear magic shoes of any sort.

I doubt there are much in the way of constructs in the forest, so I think the choice is between the cloak and the slippers. Last time I played against fey nearly our entire party got knocked out by color spray, maybe better saves is the thing. Too bad Avril is not one level higher because next level their saves are going to increase quite a bit due to shield meld for Avril and indomitable mount for Cryxial. I should probably pick up a silver weapon too eh?

I've yet to see a PFS scenario where you truly need that long range. A Chakram does more damage, although at a slightly lower to hit at only 1 GP. I probably should bring more than 2 though. I guess you can get a +3 strength bow, within the 2 PP limit. Is it possible to upgrade it to +4 for 100 gp? I only have 4 PP atm and kinda want to save up so I can afford raise dead even though that's a long way away. What other nice purchases can you get for 2 PP besides wands?

I'm up for it too. As I understand it, there cannot be more than 4 players as we need to use the 4 pregenerated level 5 unchained characters.

I'm just curious, but how does PFS handle legality of characters where the FAQ ruling has been reversed as is the case for SLA's as qualification?
Edit: And here is the answer, if it's already played as such, you are good :).
Also it looks like we are 4 for Fane of Fangs, so maybe we should open a separate thread for that?

We can duplicate the pregens, like what we do with We Be Goblins, if more than 4 want to play.

@Paladin: When you got time it would be nice to start a new thread for this. That way we won't clutter this thread. We could also get started though :).
@EvilMinion: Are you fine with playing the barbarian so we get one of each character i the party?
@dien: Not sure if it's possible to purchase gear before we set out, but scrolls of mage armor seems like a good idea to me. The party got some gold, but not much. Maybe some of infernal healing as well?

Paladin of Baha-who? |

In PFS, you can spend gold on the pregen's character sheet, but you can't sell equipment except to clear conditions. I would be totally fine with the pregens pooling available coins in order to purchase healing items. Keep in mind that this quest is a brief one, on the order of one or two encounters, gives no xp or prestige but does give some nice boons.
